North America's first transcontinental railroad was ceremonially completed, amidst great celebration, with the driving of a golden spike on May 10, 1869, at Promontory Point, UT, on the Promontory Summit; specifically, at 41N37'05" 112W33'06".
One of the two locomotives that were brought from opposite directions to face each other was Central Pacific No. 60, called Jupiter.
After the ceremonial laying of the golden spike, an iron spike was driven in its place at 12:47 PM, actually completing the rail line. (I suspect the original ceremonies began at noon.) At the moment it was driven, Mercury exactly culminated.
NOTE: Other than the Arisolar (and that lovely Moon-Mercury Capsolar progression), these charts are incredibly bad; or, at least, they depict this day (known best for its lauded celebration) as a Saturn event. This Saturn quality is driven in quite intensely and repetitively. I'm not aware of anything (other than a vague excuse that, "hey, it's construction workers") that makes this day and moment Saturnian.
