1972 Munich Olympic massacre

The biggest story out of the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany wasn't which country won what event, or what records were broken, but the kidnap and murder of 11 Israeli athletes by eight members of Black September, a faction of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). (They were seeking the release of 234 Palestinians held prison by Israel.) Overall, 17 people died: the 11 athletes, 5 of the Black September members, and 1 police officer.

The kidnapping occurred at September 5, 1972, 4:31 AM CET in Munich, West Germany; specifically at 48N10'47", 11E32'57". It lasted until to September 6, 0:04 AM CET when the athletes were shot by their kidnappers (as a half-degree Sun-Mars conjunction neared the IC).

I've just done these charts for the coordinates of Munich (48N08, 11E34). If I ever publish this, I should tweak it for the exact location given above, but these are close.

Perhaps we should regard this as specifically an event for Israel. Here are the charts recalculated for Jerusalem. - I'm not impressed until the Canlunar, the Week chart, and then especially the CapQ. It was, indeed, a bad day for the country. (Still, the event location behaved better.)
