A Case of Leukemia (Millard example)

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Robin, June 26, 1958, 8:34 AM EDT, Portland, ME
Died June 11, 1962, time unknown
Sister of Laurie: https://solunars.com/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=7484
Dr. Millard wrote:This is the story of Robin who died of leukemia... The death of Robin had an emotional impact far beyond her immediate environment and was responsible for the way her family treated Laurie, the substitute child, for whom nothing was too good. Laurie is a nymphomaniac and neurotic...

[Robin] was the picture of health and vitality... Leukemia was diagnosed quite by chance. Both she and her brother became ill with mumps encephalitis, and were admitted to hospital. Routine blood count showed that Robin was in the early stages of lymphatic leukemia and she was sent to Boston for treatment. At that time, she was two years nine months and she appeared to be healthy and vigorous.

The X-rays her mother had when she was pregnant may have contributed to her illness, for leukemia is more common among children prenatally exposed to radiation... She has a T-cell leukemia, the most fatal kind.
My analysis: Cancer profiles are still unclear. As an aside, the first diagnosed affliction was mumps encephalitis, and here we have another encephalitis case with an afflicted Libra Moon (corresponding to the head, including the brain).

Moving on to the leukemia, I suspect the same aspect, the Moon-Neptune aspect which is foreground. It's 0°19' wide and within 3° of IC. I have written that Moon is connected to the immune system, especially adaptive immunity, and leukemia comes from the prefix leuka-, "white" (for the white blood cells afflicted) - part of a prefix often linked to the moon, sometimes called "the white goddess." I suspect a primary Moon link in leukemia but can't yet prove it.

Libra Moon seems connected to her encephalitis. Mars is in Pisces, the abdomen. Vitality is indeed strong from the close Moon-Sun trine. Hard aspects include:

Mercury-Mars sq 0°11', background (Gemini-Pisces). This is the most conspicuous aspect that might afflict health (besides the Moon-Neptune conjunction). It doesn't seem to be the right functions or body parts, though.

Venus-Pluto sq 0°48', middleground. Less likely a factor since it's middleground; and the symbolism doesn't seem to fit.

I think it's the Moon-Neptune.

She died June 11, 1962. This was a day of a malignant pattern in space (for the whole world), which, however, doesn't seem sufficiently personal to her natal chart. At noon that day:

15°30' Can - r Uranus
15°57' Ari - t Mars
16°51' Cap - t Saturn
16°56' Lib - t Neptune

It was less than a month before her birthday, her old SSR having become very mature and deep in mop-up. Her prior SSR was mostly positive, though, the strongest planet being natal Venus half a degree from Ascendant, with t Neptune 1° from square MC (but otherwise transiting benefics). The one portentous aspect is a Moon-Pluto square.

It was also late in her lunar return cycle, Moon being about one sign before natal Moon. Her final Demi-SLR May 30 had natal Mars 1°06' from Dsc, natal Mercury on MC and 0°08' from Zenith.

The very best timing was the PSSR. First, PSSR Moon had progressed to 27°12' Scorpio, 9' from conjunct her natal Saturn. Second, PSSR Ascendant was... 16° Cancer! Compare this to the transiting planet list at the top of this post.
