Bastille Day truck attack (Nice)

As reported earlier by JSAD, an 18-wheel truck, laden with guns and grenades, was driven through a crowd at a Bastille Day fireworks event along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France, targeting and running down people. So far, 84 people have died and another 100 are injured, making this an unusually deadly mass killing with a very unusual weapon. Police killed the driver on the spot.

From the patterns of the charts, and the magnitude of armaments, I assume that we'll find out within a few days that this was specifically an IS-inspired, if not IS-executed, follow-on to Paris and Brussels.

The attacker, Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, was born January 3, 1985, in M'saken, Sousse Governorate, Tunisia. He was on probation for attacking someone with a board from a wooden pallet after a traffic accident, and relatives said he abused his estranged wife, who has also been arrested, perhaps in an abundance of caution. He's been in trouble with the law since he came to France in 1985, mostly petty theft and assault.
