Does anyone know how to export transit data from SolarFire into Excel?

Post by Sunshineheart »

Hi everyone!
I'm wanting to export transit data into an Excel spreadsheet from SolarFire but cannot figure out how to do it. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this. I'm using SolarFire 9...
Thank you for any help!

Generate the report in Transits and Progressions. Get the columns the way ytou want them. Then click the Co;y button and then paste into a blank Excel spreadsheet.

Easy as can be, I do it frequently. You can then clean it up (probably want to take extraneous stuff off the top and bottom, make the header row the top row and freeze it in place, all the usual cool Excel stuff.

Welcome to the forum Sunshine :) . Noting your lights in Virgo & Gemini, particularly your angular (MC) Gemini Moon. Also noting your Natal Jupiter partile conjunct my Node :). I am curious, how long have you been studying astrology and Western Sidereal Astrology? How long have you been working with Solarfire?

Hello Steve! Once again, I feel so stupid. I stumbled across this forum when trying to figure out how to export data into Excel, but did not realize it was about Sidereal Astrology -- I should have been more aware and am so sorry. I have been studying astrology since I was a kid, and now that I am retired have the time to delve into it the way I have always wanted, but my zodiac has always been Tropical. I am so sorry that I did not realize this before my post, and feel bad for joining a group as an outsider. :?

I am curious about what you said about my Sidereal chart, as I am very Mercurial, sometimes to my own detriment. Care to elaborate? What fixed star are you using for your starting point?

Steve was referring simply to the fact that your Sun is in Sidereal Virgo and Moon in Sidereal Gemini - both Mercurial constellations. It has nothing to do with any specific fixed stars. (The Sidereal zodiac isn't about specific stars, but about space itself. I know that's a little confusing, and I'm busy this month writing something to try to disentangle it, but I wanted to address your star queston.)

You can read about Virgo Sun and Gemini Moon here:

If the ten primary astrological planets, Mercury and your culminating Moon are your strongest planetary influences, followed by your more widely angular (rising) Sun. Here are your Sidereal placements:

Mo 24Ge16
Su 12Vi10
Me 29Le38
Ve 28Cn45
Ma 14Cn29
Ju 1Ta31
Sa 5Aq 1
Ur 17Le50
Ne 21Li52
Pl 20Le32
MC 23Ge01
As 20Vi51

No need to apologize Sunshine, I understand :) . It’s good you are now in a space of time of retirement where you can devote more time to the study of astrology. When I was in business working long days, I always looked forward to retirement where I could devote more time to the study of Astrology. While you are here on this forum I highly recommend you learn/study how to read a Sidereal Solar Return (SSR). You may consider asking Jim to read your next upcoming SSR for you, it could be a very interesting new solar year for you, and Jim wrote a book on “Interpreting Solar Returns” that I highly recommend. In the meantime since you now have time on your hand you can go to this link if you like and start learning Jim’s guidelines for Interpreting Solar Returns:

Since you have Solarfire which is the astrological program both Jim and I use, we would be glad to help you calculate your upcoming new SSR. The following link is your next SSR for Dallas:

Your SSR & Natal Venus is prominently positioned in your new SSR. Anyway, wishing you a happy retirement :) .

Hi Sunshine, since you kinda found this forum by accident I wanted to take a look at your Sidereal Lunar Returns (SLR). We on this forum pay close attention to the first harmonic (conjunction SLR) & second harmonic (180 DSLR). I happen to notice on your July 31 DSLR it featured one angular “outstanding incident” aspect, with angular Pluto partile 90 Node partile conjunct DSLR Zenith. I pay a lot attention to “outstanding incident” aspects in a return chart because I have found em important relative to one’s immediate living environment. Below is a link to your July 31 DSLR showing only the angular “outstanding incident” partile 90 aspect of Pluto-Node:

Also note your DSLR 180 Moon is partile 90 DSLR MC, a very important auxiliary angular position in Sidereal Astrology.

I also use Ebertin’s book “Combination of Stellar Influences” to get a feel for the tones of any possible “outstanding incident” aspects in return charts and here is what Ebertin says for Pluto-Node combinations:
The beginning of new associations which may possibly be important with regard to one’s future.
I found this Ebertin Pluto-Node tone most interesting in light of how you found this forum. Before I discovered Western Sidereal Astrology I was into Tropical Astrology for 11 years, and Sidereal Astrology indeed became very important to my astrological learning future. I think your mind will see/understand the same importance for your future with your pursuit of learning astrological things. The first thing I had to learn when I discovered Western Sidereal Astrology was how to compute the Sidereal Astrology charts, and I learned this with Solarfire, so if you decide to pursue the study of Sidereal Astrology-- feel free to ask how to compute the charts for Sidereal Astrology with Solarfire :) .
