Speaker Mike Johnson

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Mike Johnson, the new Speaker of the House, was born January 30, 1972, Shreveport, LA - hour unknown.

Like so many contemporary conservative leaders, he has a Capricorn Sun. It's paired with a Cancer Moon. In fact, like Donald Trump, he was born not only at a Full Moon but on the day of a lunar eclipse.

He was elected Speaker of the House October 25, 2023 in Washington, DC, apparently a little before 2 PM.

For his election, transiting Neptune was octile natal Sun, which seems strange - but perhaps no stranger than all the events swarming around the occurrence. More to point, Jupiter was likely in partile square to his Sun, suggesting his Sun is no earlier than 15°35' Capricorn (approximately its noon position) - though we can't count on the partile aspect for sure.

Perhaps most important, transiting Saturn squared natal Saturn (18' from the noon position): This is developmental, a life-stage marker with Saturn soon turning direct and moving on. It certainly marks a turning point in his life.

For a noon "starter" birth time, progressed Moon opposed progressed Jupiter within 17'! This would be a perfect aspect for his elevation (a great success for anyone, but also for someone so young and new to Congress), so... just maybe... he was born very close to noon. In broader terms, his progressed Sun was opposite natal Pluto showing a turning-point year for him.

He was born with a Cancer Moon and Moon was in Aquarius for his election. His October 23 Dermi-SLR probably deserves attention. If he were born at 11:30 AM, the Demi-SLR for his election has:

r Moon on EP -1°48'
t Jupiter on MC -0°19'
------------------------
r Sun on WP +1°28'
t Mars on IC +4°47'

t Mars sq r Moon 0°29' M
t Moon co r Sun 0°55' M

t Jupiter sq r Sun 1°20'
t Jupiter sq r Moon 1°56'

Using this 11:30 AM birth time and returning to the basics of transits, progressions, and directions, we're blown away a bit. Start with these transits to natal angles:

1°28' Cap - r MC
2°54' Cap - t Pluto
3°38' Cap - r Mercury

15°33' Ari - r Asc
15°35' Cap - r Sun
16°02' Ari - t Jupiter
16°58' Lib - t Mars

Next, for secondary progressions, we have:

12°15' Sag - p Jupiter
12°25' Gem - p Moon

7°31' Vir - r Pluto
7°35' Pis - p Sun

Finally, one happy Solar Arc direction pair (besides Sun-Pluto):

14°49' Ari - d Venus
15°33' Ari - r Asc
15°35' Cap - r Sun

22°48' Aqu - r Venus
23°28' Aqu - d MC

I'm inclined to place a lot of confidence in this 11:30 AM time.
