Relocation Astrology Reading Request

Post by SZB »

Hello,

All my life I wanted to move from my country of birth.

I felt strongly about this since childhood, since I can remember, and always felt very strongly that until I successfully move, my life can't start, and I don't belong in this place at all.

I did live for periods in different countries, but I did not manage to stay.

I want to move permanently, and not come back.

I have two specific areas in mind, but if possible would also like to know what are the places in the whole world that are best for me.

My details are:

23rd of April, 1979, 9:03AM, Bucharest, Romania

What I'm looking for in the new place is a good environment for my profession and money.

It would be a city with has a vibrant local art scene, but it's also internationally connected.

It can also be success through the internet, meaning maybe local scene is not exactly stellar, but for some reason publishing stuff online in that location catches traction.

The first specific area that I am looking to move are the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark) with strong preference for Norway and Sweden.

The second specific area is Japan (more like wishful thinking, but anyway)

Thank You

Welcome to Solunars, SZB.

I can't do what I need for this on the computer in my office, so I'll have to wait until I get home and have some time to answer. We should be able to find what you want.

It sounds like the acceptable range of locations is anywhere on Earth, yes? (That is, anywhere that meets your criteria, not limited by geography.)

Your one foreground planet at birthplace is Saturn. (It's only moderately strong, but it's the closest.) You have some excellent aspects that might increase your enjoyment of life if they were angular, especially your Sun-Jupiter square. We probably should focus on putting that on angles, though your Venus is also fine by itself.

Just doing some spot checking (without seeing the whole picture yet): Tokyo emphasizes your Mercury and Venus - an exact Venus angular might be possible in southern Japan. Oslo brings your Mars to an angle, which I would not recommend, and Stockholm emphasizes Pluto, (I have to see the whole map since things change rapidly in the northern Scandinavian latitudes.) You didn't mention the Western Hemisphere, but it looks like your Jupiter is angular near Toronto or west a bit - it's exact in Detroit (not that Detroit is necessarily a bustling arts scene).

Yes, anywhere on Earth, not limited by geography.

Detroit actually has a pretty big local art scene, it's not that well known outside of it though.

I don't want to be too fussy, let's just keep the good for profession and money requirement and not so much the art part.

By Saturn with moderate influence at birth you mean at least on paper, the natal place it's not so bad ?

There are worse places - where it's stronger - that would be more restrictive.

Still, if it isn't what you want, why stay? Your chart also does have a need to make sure you are free of control from formative conditions.

I definitely want to move, it's extremely restrictive where I am now.

Venus sets in south Japan, around Okayama (about halfway between Hiroshima and Kobe-Osaka. It rises through Brazil, e.g., near Brasilia down to Sao Paulo. It squares Asc on a curve that passes just north of Los Angeles (and curves on into fairly obscure areas). In Europe a Venus line passes through Athens in a northwestern curve that passes north of Sarajevo, south of Vienna (mid-Austria), exists the continent just north of the Germany-Netherlands border, and continues across the northern Atlantic to Reykjavik.

As mentioned before, Jupiter rises across east-central U.S., passing west of New Orleans a bit, through Jackson, Mississippi, not far from Indianapolis, and just north of Detroit. Jupiter rises across Norway, Sweden, and Finland, but about the middle of each country, in fairly obscure areas. There's not a good way to get you what you asked for in that part of the world.

Next, we can filter out these large swaths by checking to make sure nothing undesirable snuck in.

Okayama, Japan: Confirming Venus 0°05' from an angle, Mercury moderately strong.

Brasilia: Not as close as I thought. Moon and Neptune are strongest, and a little Venus.

Sao Paulo, Brazil: Square hit of Venus 0°17' from Ascendant. Moderate Mercury, a bare whisper of Neptune (probably too weak to matter).

Los Angeles: Venus is a little over a degree from Nadir. You could fine tune this with locations a short distance north, like Ventura (Venus a few minutes from the angle).

Jackson, Mississippi: Jupiter on Descendant almost to the minute, with supportive close lines from Sun and Uranus. I don't know if the area is attractive to you (halfway between New Orleans and Memphis, more or less), but the chart is really good.

Detroit: Jupiter half a degree from Descendant, Sun 23' from Nadir. This is really good, too.

Athens: Avoid. Venus is quite exact but so is Saturn (and a little Neptune).

Reykjavik: One would have to fine-tune a location in Iceland. Reyk itself is primarily Neptune for you, with Venus just over 2° from Zenith. If this is attractive, we can try to fine tune.

Jackson and Okayama look good, and Austria is also interesting.

What happens in locations that are really antithetical, having some really good and really bad aspects. How would that work, living there would be both awesome and horrible, or do they neutralize each other ?

For example places that have both Jupiter and Saturn at 1 degree each...

Some people say that depending on the natal chart some local aspects could be nullified, so a person with a chart like that could go to an area and not be affected by certain local placements, is that true ?

A move to Europe, which is closer, and no visa is needed is preferred. Japan is more difficult, but although some people won't believe it, it can be cheaper than Europe if planned properly.

Europe is basically ruined by the Saturn, Mars and Pluto lines, but there must be a place or two somewhere, even if they're a bit lackluster.

This does not have to be the end all be all move, it can be a intermediary move.
Moving to a place that might not be the best, but clearly better than where I am now, can be considered mission accomplished for the moment.

For now, the priority is to leave the current place, and be able to build resources in the new location. The art part and vibrant local life are secondary.

Another move could be made, after a few years, towards an better, close to ideal location.

What is your view of the following locations:

Goteborg, Jonkoping (Sweden)
Kristiansand (Norway)
Copenhagen (Denmark)
Amsterdam, Groningen (Netherlands)
Graz (Austria)

They don't neutralize each other - but one possibility is a tug of war. Both have to have their voice. Both will manifest. Often one is stronger than the other, and it prevails (orbs matter). Sometimes the two are also in aspect (ecliptical or mundane), and that adds a further, more complex element. While there is nothing "wrong" with such places, for the purposes of picking a long-term relocation spot one either wants to pick a planet that matches exactly what you want to do there (e.g., Mercury to pick a place to go to school, Mars for athletic training) or pick an unafflicted benefic, whiled keeping the malefics away,
Some people say that depending on the natal chart some local aspects could be nullified, so a person with a chart like that could go to an area and not be affected by certain local placements, is that true ?
I'm not sure who the "some people" are but, as stated, it sounds like superstition. Off hand, I can't think of a single case where one's world wasn't altered (sometimes instantly - like driving through an area) at a new location.
For now, the priority is to leave the current place, and be able to build resources in the new location. The art part and vibrant local life are secondary.
I understand the internal pressure you are feeling to break free - to break loose, have something new and renewing, and compel your nervous system to have to adapt to and assimilate new input. Transiting Uranus is exactly opposite natal Uranus - a restless time when one needs to be free. Simultaneously, you have a solar arc direction of Uranus-Ascendant. The Uranus energy is surging in you. No wonder things feel even more restrictive, since the need for freedom, movement, and renewal are so strong.

For the specific places you listed:

Goteborg, Jonkoping (Sweden) Nothing strong, but the strongest factors are negative: Mars within 3° of Aenith, Neptune 9° from Descendant. Both are weak but are the strongest.

Kristiansand (Norway) The strongest influence is Mercury, 2°01' from Zenith. The other three foreground planets are the two outermost, Neptune 7° from Descendant and Pluto 9° from Descendant. This puts Neptune-Pluto in a mundane conjunction. This could be... interesting. Not bad (though there is nothing to say it is good, either). This could be place to explore different aspects of your mind and how it organizes reality and might, in general, be intellectually gratifying.

Copenhagen (Denmark) Another (slightly) intellectual-leaning place but frustrating. Similar to Kristiansand but without the Pluto involvement that makes all the difference. Mercury 2°03' from Zenith (slightly weak) and Neptune 8° from Descendant. I know that I'd feel constantly uncomfortable, self-doubting, and frustrated under this.

Amsterdam, Groningen (Netherlands) Surreal as a Van Gogh painting. It might give you the fulfillment of freedom and adventure you want, with Uranus 0°44' from Westpoint (an exact fulfillment of the Uranus needs so strong in you right now), though Neptune is only 1°43' from Descendant. Mixed and not predictable - maybe a lot like a strong Uranus-Neptune aspect with Uranus predominating. This could be a good spot for you in a different way than you first requested.
Uranus-Neptune wrote:Wanderlust, curious explorer, drawn to peer or push past horizons. Colliding realities and social revision impact life. Rules haven't been discovered for one's life (maps not yet drawn, "nobody knows what my life is like"). Mythic, ritualistic sense of one's position in the universal scheme (need to discern one's role). Knows that life and reality are more mystical and inscrutable (or just plain weird!) than anyone ever said. High-strung, sensitive, easily agitated.
Graz (Austria) Neptune keeps getting in the way, though the single strongest influence is Venus. This is part of the Venus line I mentioned earlier. It could be a place of happiness, social connection, beauty, yet always with an insidious little snake in the background undercutting it somehow (probably in a sense of your psyche demanding more "perfection" and intolerant of the dream being "not exactly right"). Overall, though, a pretty good place. Venus is 0°27' from Zenith, Neptune 5°05' from Descendant.

That means that after the tug of war one will prevail and the other will disappear ?

You mentioned in a post on this forum that where you are living there is an aspect that some might intepret as bad, but you are ok with it.

How does a potentially bad aspect get transformed into something livable ?

For the locations I should have written them separately, for Sweden and Holland there were two cities each.

Could you please have a loot at:

Jonkoping (Sweden)
Groningen (Netherlands)
Moscow (Russia) obviously can't go there, but at least on paper with my limited astrocartography skills, it looks interesting...

No. You seem to keep looking at ways that effects to away or are neutralized: That just doesn't happen. Angular planets can be modified over time by as combination of transits and your own adjustments - a different expression of the same planet - but the effect of that one planet and its associated set of needs being operative at a high intensity will persist forever.
You mentioned in a post on this forum that where you are living there is an aspect that some might intepret as bad, but you are ok with it.
I don't know what that was but, yes. The fact that others regard something my behavior as negative does not mean that I regard the same behavior as negative.
How does a potentially bad aspect get transformed into something livable ?
Of all the range of possible (realistic) expressions, pick one that you are willing to experience and express it that way. A strong aspect is a strong astrological force and it MUST be expressed. Resistance or repression results in negative expression.

To take an obvious, extreme example, Mars-Saturn represents struggle and difficulty. Most people have at least some measure of difficulty with it. On the other hand, such struggles and effort often make us stronger. Our survival instincts are strengthened by honing them. We can choose to struggle FOR something rather than AGAINST something. This doesn't change the fundamental nature: The life will still be on struggle, conflict, and effort - but the effect is very different, e.g., it can be the Mars-Saturn opposition of Martin Luther King, Jr., Betty Friedan, Bruce Lee, or Ellen DeGeneris instead of Adolf Hitler, Angelo Buono, Genevieve Lhermitte, or Hermann Goering.

Jonkoping (Sweden) Mercury is strongest, but Saturn is less than 5° IC. You lose the advantage of the other location and gain a difficult placement. (The chart looks mostly like your birth chart in terms of angularity.)

Groningen (Netherlands) Better than the other city. Venus and Uranus are strongest, with Neptune moderate.

Moscow I saw this on the map and wondered how close the liens were - the looked to far away. Calculating, I find it's not bad: Jupiter on Asc 2°42' and a touch of Moon.
