Relocating friend's bad SSR

Post by Mike V »

My best friend has a really terrible SSR coming up, and it's been difficult to find a good place to relocate it to. I'd love another set of eyes (or a few sets of eyes) for potential US locations to place this.

Birth data:
April 12 1995 1:39pm
Mount Holly, NJ

Current residence:
Victor, NY

Her default SSR for that location looks something like this:

R. Jupiter on Asc +0*22’
T. Mars on Nadir -0*25’
T. Saturn on Nadir +0*28’
T. Venus on IC -2*20’
R. Moon on Zenith +0*49’
T. Moon on Dsc +2*33’

T. Mars sqr r. Jupiter 0*07’
T. Mars opp r. Moon 0*24’
T. Saturn square r. Jupiter 0*46’
T. Saturn opp r. Moon 1*17’
T. Moon opp r. Jupiter 2*11’
T. Moon sqr t. Venus 4*53’ M

Despite natal Jupiter partile conjunct Ascendant, it is getting nailed by that transiting Mars-Saturn conjunction, all in the immediate foreground. Mars-Saturn also contacts natal Moon in the foreground. Her current SSR is heavily Martial as well.

Here's what I was able to find in the US for alternate locations:

Virginia Beach, VA:

T. Venus on IC -0*17’
R. Jupiter on Asc +5*12’
T. Moon on Dsc +8*33’

T. Moon opp r. Jupiter 2*39’ M

T. Saturn background 5*52’
T. Mars background 6*22’
T. Jupiter background 4*38’

This maximizes transiting Venus, and although it does still have her afflicted natal Jupiter on an angle, the malefics are in the medium background themselves.

Alternately, Fremont, CA:
T. Jupiter on WP -0*05’
R. Mars on MC +3*24’
T. Uranus on WP -1*28’ (or about 4*30’ from a primary angle)

T. Venus background 6*06’

This skips all of the Mars-Saturn to Moon-Jupiter stuff and places transiting Jupiter exactly on the angle - but it does come with natal Mars, and puts transiting Venus into the background.

These seem like the 2 primary options that we have in the continental US, and I'm not sure which one is most likely to deprioritize Mars-Saturn to Moon-Jupiter: the Venus chart that puts Mars-Saturn in the background (but still has Jupiter foreground), or the chart that emphasizes transiting Jupiter but leaves the nasty transit in the middleground. Or perhaps something else?

What a totally ugly shame to have that Mars-Saturn conjunction at 20 Aquarius to spoil a fabulous Venus-Jupiter paran right on the angles.

My bet read (tongue planted firmly in cheek) is, "They're going to beat the bloody crap out of you and you will have SUCH A GOOD TIME." <ya, but...>

Anyway... neither natal benefic is free of exact malefic assault. That leaves the transiting benefics, which are ecliptically free. But if we take the easy path of putting transiting Venus on an angle, we tend to get transiting Mars-Saturn also, which makes the transiting Jupiter-Uranus an attractive idea.

I can't use astro-mapping in SF except on my primary computer at home (geeky explanation not necessary here) but I do see from a little trial and error that Venus on IC is going to pull off the malefic lines as you go south, and the transiting Jupiter-Uranus cuts across the southwest from western Arizona to eastern Montana. Jupiter-Uranus also slides up the West Coast and a big inland. It's just a matter of dodging undesirable extra factors. I an look better tonight but my first hit is to go with the Jupiter-Uranus setting lines from, say, somewhere east of Phoenix for example. Colorful, fun Jerome, AZ produces a pretty good chart. (Barstow is too far west for maximum effect. Somewhere halfway between Jerome and Barstow maybe. Needles puts Jupiter precisely angular.) Vegas has Jupiter (conjoined by Uranus) barely a degree from the angle without anything else angular (well, natal Pluto).

Yeah, it's hard; we seem to get natal Pluto if we focus on Jupiter too strongly. For example, Billings, MT:
T. Jupiter on Dsc 0*00’
R. Pluto on Asc -1*40’
T. Uranus on Dsc -1*44’

Some other sites:

Jerome, AZ:
T. Uranus on Dsc +0*14’
T. Jupiter on Dsc +2*00’
R. Pluto on EP-a 0*51’

Joshua Tree, CA isn’t too bad:
T. Jupiter on Dsc -1*14’
T. Uranus on Dsc -2*58’
R. Pluto on Asc -6*29’
R. Mars on Zenith -2*41’

Rock Springs, WY:
T. Uranus on Dsc -0*22’
T. Jupiter on Dsc +1*23’
R. Pluto on EP -2*34’

It seems like the closest to "purely benefic" we can get is emphasizing transiting Uranus and taking Jupiter as a nice side dish.

You say Pluto like it's a bad thing :)

My one regret of traveling for my SSRs is thst I don't get the closely foreground Plutp every year that LA gives me.

Trueeeee. I say it because whenever I mention Pluto to this friend, she goes "oh nooo, not more Pluto! I'm tired of transformation!"

To be honest, natal Pluto in return charts does tend to feel more uncomfortable than transiting Pluto. (To be fair, given my Pluto, perhaps I don't get an opinion on this.)
