Synastry chart
Im not sure if it’s appropriate to post a synastry chart here but if anyone has the time to look it over, this is the synastry chart of my ex of 14 yrs and mine. We split up about 2 yrs ago, he has kept in touch throughout this time often giving me the impression he is still interested. I last heard from him a little over a week ago, after seven months, we spoke for about two hours on the phone. He is seeing someone, she lives in my neighborhood so it confuses me a little. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
I wanted to post a chart but can’t figure out how.
My birth info:8/26/76. Managua Nicaragua at 11:59 pm
His: 1/25/77 Tampa, Fl 1:17pm

Kimmy, we're happy to take a look. What exactly would you like to know? (I have the sense there is a question you didn't exactly ask.)

Re: Synastry chart
Thanks for replying! I guess I’m wondering why he continues to reach out to me when he has moved on. Is it the familiarity? I realize 14 yrs is a long time. Is it out of guilt? Around the 7th yr of our relationship, he left me for someone else for a few months. I made the error of taking him back when that ended in attempt to repair the relationship. He began to make a lot of changes in his life, letting go of destructive habits, friends, began improving his diet/ working out, went back to school to move up in his career, etc. He became very involved in his faith, so involved that he thought it best to end our sexual relationship for about six months then when he realized I was losing patience, he wanted to try and rekindle that aspect of our relationship again. I’m just confused over what this guy feels exactly. He has been involved with someone else since a few months after our split yet he continues to reach out and no it isn’t daily, usually every few months but they aren’t just friendly “ catching up” conversations , there is definitely some flirting involved. Maybe I’m overthinking it, it just surprises me that he would continue to reach out, I didn’t feel like my feelings were much of a priority during our time together. Is he reaching out because he genuinely worries for my well being and would like to establish a friendship or because he feels guilt for the past and is trying to somehow make himself feel better?

Re: Synastry chart
Well, there's a genuine thing. Your Venuses are opposite to the degree, so there's some real friendship. Your Moons are in opposite signs, so there is some genuine sense of being at home with each other (as one might expect with a 14-year relationship). With his Sun square your Uranus, there surely was time everything seemed exciting and fresh and a need to aways keep it that way with no sense it was settled or fixed. With his Neptune on your Descendant, there is always the wish to indulge in you like a favorite desert. Your Jupiter and Saturn on his angles, you are simultaneously motivated to be good and generous to him and to hold his feet to the fire.
Saturn is square his Ascendant. He's going through some challenging times. He might be remembering better times. Saturn is coming across your Sun so it's your turn to have more expected of you than you think you can handle (but you're wrong about that: You'll grow significantly in the process.)

Re: Synastry chart
Can you elaborate some? The past few years haven’t been smooth for me as it is. Really ever. I’m a single mom, my daughter is an adult now but it certainly hasn’t been easy. My father passed when I was 25, my mother passed last yr and brother this past November. I found out I have afib last yr and have thyroid disease since after my daughter was born. When you say dealing with more than I think I can handle, what can I expect?

Your chart does show high vulnerability, with Neptune as the most angular planet and in precise mundane square to Sun--arguably the most important aspect of your chart--and other details.
In order to look into detailed prognostics, we'd need to know where you reside currently. Where you spent your most recent birthday is also of interest, if a different location.

I was speaking of Saturn's transit opposite your Sun. (BTW, one possibility of this is: take care of that afib and be very conscientious about heart care the next few months.) - In talking about Saturn opposite your Sun, I wasn't referring to any specific outcome but the general tone of the time. Every seven years or so, Saturn to Sun means that the universe demands more of us than it feels like we can handle. However, the truth is that we actually do handle it - most people survive this transit every seven years pretty well. What usually happens is that we only think we can't handle it but, somehow, we rise to the occasion, get stronger, get more efficient, drop some self-doubting {bs}, and simply do it. Saturn transiting Sun is the embodiment of the aphorism, "If you have a problem that seems too big to handle... just get a bigger problem! The one you've been wrestling with will seem small stuff and you'll handle it right away."

Thank you for the info, I did a Google search of this transit and noticed issues with the heart is a possibility. I currently live in Tampa, Fl where I also spent my last birthday.Patrick Machado wrote: Tue Jan 09, 2024 9:06 pmHi. Re: Synastry chart
@Jim Eshelman, no need to apologize, I had a brief moment of panic but am ok now The afib and thyroid are being treated so I’m fine. Unfortunately I came into my parents life very late ( she was 52 and he was 58) so my parents and siblings are much older. My mother was lucky enough to make it to 98 yrs old before passing, my father was 81 and my brother was a lifetime smoker so he passed from lung cancer at 80. I try not to focus on the negative things and do what I have to do, I’m sure it’s that way for most of us. Thanks again

Re: Synastry chart
Your previous Solar Return (valid from August 2022 to August 2023) was quite miserable, with a lot of Neptune interwoven along the whole thing. A time of much vulnerability, mental and emotional confusion, irritation, and the like.Kimmyness76 wrote: Wed Jan 10, 2024 3:18 amI currently live in Tampa, Fl where I also spent my last birthday.
Your current Solar Return, valid until your next birthday, is similar, but more potentially toxic, hurtful, and isolating. No need to catastrophize, however: you've already been living through it for four months (and a similar time for longer), during which it seems like it has already delivered much of what it promised, and your health issues, as you said, are under control. And it has an expiration date. Not the best of times, for sure, but you just gotta keep rolling with it till then.
Your next Solar Return in August is a definite improvement, though still carrying similar themes as the previous two. It could potentially be fine-tuned for greater benefic preponderance.
By the way, your current Lunar Return indicates a lot of dynamism, mental activity, and intellectual stimulation. It could potentially relate to this contact you've been having with Sidereal astrology.

Re: Synastry chart
I wish it sounded more promising. I have been feeling pretty isolated but a lot of that is my own doing and I deal with solitude pretty well since I’m pretty introverted. Anyway to know what area of my life will be affected by this toxicity? Also can I ask what exactly a Lunar chart is? I’ve heard of the Solar Return. Last question, can you recommend the best way to learn how to interpret a natal chart? I know the basics but it seems so complex like there’s so much to learn. Is there a course online I could take or books you can recommend?

Natal Pluto is the most angular planet in your current Solar, so that tracks very exactly.Kimmyness76 wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 5:01 amI have been feeling pretty isolated but a lot of that is my own doing and I deal with solitude pretty well since I’m pretty introverted.
I meant it in a general sense, as you being prone to continuously or recurringly imbibe "poison" emotionally and mentally. As if your very accentuated sensibility gets violently assailed. I could pin it down to more specifically your emotional life, but really, how can that be separated from one's whole life?Anyway to know what area of my life will be affected by this toxicity?
Much like a Solar Return is a yearly personal predictive chart, a Lunar Return is a monthly one. The name of this site should give a clue to their importance. Also can I ask what exactly a Lunar chart is? I’ve heard of the Solar Return.
I'm not currently aware of anything that teaches our method comprehensively "from the ground up" apart from the masterwork Jim Eshelman is currently developing. He and Kenneth Bowser are the foremost names in Sidereal astrology at this time, and Cyril Fagan and Donald Bradley its modern founders. You might wish to take those names as primary references.Last question, can you recommend the best way to learn how to interpret a natal chart? Re: Synastry chart
Though it doesn't at all amount to a course, I have posted PowerPoints for a prior class here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4709 - They might help if you already have basics in place.
If you have background in another theory / method of astrology, this gives the primary distinctions that characterize astrology as we do it: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2259
I'm attempting to fill the gap in literature right now, as Patrick mentioned. It's a three-year project and I've gotten a lot done. One of these days soon, I hope!

Re: Synastry chart
Hello!
Circling back to the topic of my ex, we had dinner together about three weeks ago. At the time, he agreed to contribute a few dollars for a dental cleaning for the dog he left with me when he moved out. He has never contributed before and I have never asked but decided to this time since I thought we were on good terms. After having dinner, I never heard from him again. I sent him a couple of texts and asked if he was still willing to help. He said he couldn’t afford it at the moment which I know is an outright lie since he’s making more now than he ever has and his mortgage and truck are paid off. What is his deal? His mother had emailed me a few days before we had dinner claiming she wished we’d reconcile obviously that isn’t going to happen. What was the point of making nice over the past couple of years only to disappoint again?
Thanks

Re: Synastry chart
I note that your questions, as written, are about him and his world to an extent that may elude astrological analysis without his participation in it. Are you asking about his astrological character? He is extremely individualistic overall, something perhaps masked by a measure of charm, and I can see his preferring to remain as unbeholden to others as possible. His acutely Saturnian chart is quite consistent with holding tightly onto his hard-earned resources. -- Just as a broad stroke that could have to do with your inquiry.

Re: Synastry chart
That’s all true. I suppose I’m not surprised, he has always been very selfish when it comes to just about anything and finances especially. I’m more disappointed that I was led to believe something he probably had no intention of doing. In the end, the dog is fine and had the procedure. Maybe part of the disappointment is in knowing not much has really changed.

Re: Synastry chart
My apologies - I saw your post while on vacation and thought you were asking rhetorical questions rather than that you actually wanted answers.
I find that the single most useful aphorism for understanding others behavior is, "Deem not of change at all." Never expect anyone to change. They may change their behavior but they (all of us) are incapable of changing who they fundamentally are; and the easiest path to disappointment, disillusionment, and resentment is from counting on anyone else to change - ever.
It's important, instead, to learn who they really are. If behaviors change, be willing to be surprised.

Re: Synastry chart
That was an interpretive label I used owing to Saturn's prominence as a driving force in the chart. I further qualified that as acute because it is most pointedly and substantially so: Not only is the Sun in Saturn-ruled Capricorn, but Saturn itself is the most foreground planet (exactly on IC). We thus expect Saturnian behaviors (such as the representative example I gave earlier) to abound in the individual whose chart it is.

I didn’t realize Saturn was prominent in the chart, thanks for the explanation.
