Russian political activist Alexei Navalny (imprisoned in Siberia) is dead, according to an announcement this morning. According to his mother in a 2013 Moscow Times article, he was born at 1:30 PM BAT on June 4, 1976, in Butyn, Russia (55N39'59" 36E56'37"). His death, of course, is no surprise: It was only a matter of when, not whether, he would die in the brutal, abusive conditions of his imprisonment.

My colleague Jan Carter Seymour gave the time of announcement as today (2/16/24) at 2:30 PM BAT. She highlighted his solar arc Sun-Venus-Neptune (which she termed a "Martyr aspect") to his natal Saturn (apex of a T-square formed by Saturn and minor planets).
In 2021 he was sent to Pokrov correctional colony in Vladimir Oblast (55N54'13'', 39E11'04'') until June 2022, when he was transferred to the IK-6 Melekhovo correctional colony (56N15'19" 41E18'59"). By December 2023, he had been moved to an unknown location, though he reportedly died at the IK-3 "Polar Wolf" prison colony 66N49'07" 65E47'44".
The date of his death hasn't been confirmed, but it was announced today and seems to have just occurred.
NOTE 2/17/24: I just learned that a letter to his lawyer listed the time of his death as 2:17 PM Local Time February 16.

Re: Alexei Navalny is dead
Navalny's natal Saturn was 5°30' Cancer. Progressed Sun at 5°02' Cancer was conjunct. Transiting Pluto today is at 5°45' Capricorn and the Mars-Pluto conjunction opposite his Saturn this week. These are consistent not hardship at the level of extreme brutality.
Noted for investigation purposes: Directed Eris squared natal Moon 24' applying.
At birth, this outspoken, defiant activist had Pluto looking like it was far below Ascendant but, in fact, it was 0°28' above Ascendant - exactly angular.
His SSR seems to have occurred at Melekhovo (56N15'19" 41E18'59"). It had nothing angular and only a 2°19' Moon-Neptune mundane square had much voice.
He died reportedly at "Polar Wolf" (66N49'07" 65E47'44"). Though I don't think solar returns relocate, this example leans toward the opposite opinion since it is extremely harsh: Transiting Mars 2°06' past MC, natal Mars 1°10' before MC, Mars conjunct natal Mars 2°17', and the Mars/Mars midpoint 0°28' from MC. The Moon-Neptune aspect no longer shows. There is, however, some benefic presence with both Jupiters (Dsc 6°55', WP-a 1°27') and some Uranus.
His final (February 10) Demi-SLR is quite on target! Here is the breakdown of angularities and aspects:
r Sun on MC -5°04'
t Neptune on Dsc -4°32'
r Neptune on IC -3°36'
r Pluto on Asc -2°44'
t Saturn on WP-a -0°32'
-----------------------------
r Venus on MC +0°03'
r Moon on Asc +9°20'
This delivers the following mind-boggling, depleting lineup of aspects:
t Saturn op r Moon 0°07' M
t Neptune sq r Sun 0°32' M
r Neptune-Pluto sq 0°52' M
t Neptune sq r Neptune 0°56' M
r Sun-Neptune op 1°22'
t Neptune op r Pluto 1°48' M
r Sun-Pluto sq 2°20' M
r Venus-Neptune op 2°23'
r Venus-Pluto sq 2°47' M
This Demi-SLR isn't easy to portray in visual horoscope form with existing software, so I want to display the foreground planets a different way that captures the interweavings of planets in the mundoscope (all of the aspects) and horoscope (for comparison: almost no ecliptical aspects exist that make any sense):
20°40' H12 - r Moon - 5°40' Leo
20°47' H6 - t Saturn - 12°29' Aqu
29°57' H9 - r Venus - 15°46' Tau
-----------------------------------------
2°44' H1 - r Pluto - 14°34' Vir
3°36' H4 - r Neptune - 18°09' Sco
4°32' H7 - t Neptune - 0°59' Pis
5°04' H10 - r Sun - 19°30' Tau

Re: Alexei Navalny is dead
And the man himself? His nativity shows someone living and acting outside the herd with great passion, phenomenal leadership skills, and great idealism. He was a show - a performance that could hold people's attention and absorb their involvement. And he seems a creature of great compassion welded to that idealism.
Do you see these things? These remarks are based on Pluto precisely rising; Neptune as his second strongest planet (closely opposite Sun); Taurus-Leo luminaries with Mars in Cancer; his important Taurus-Scorpio opposition, which is specifically with Sun conjunct Venus in Taurus opposite Neptune in Scorpio (with Mars as "sidecar" to them all).
