Best books on sidereal astrology?

Post by silver »

I've read Cyril Fagans name mentioned but his books are probably long out of print. Where is best to start if I want to read on this subject and really get into it as the forum custodians are? It amazes me sidereal astrology is so neglected in an already neglected study. Surely astrologers who use the tropical zodiac must realise it is obsolete or don't they?

By the way I'd just like to say even though I'm an empiricist I don't denigrate astrology and don't see why anyone would.

I celebrate astrology because I'm an empiricist :)

Yes indeed. Primer of Sidereal Astrology by Cyril Fagan looks a good place to start. Did you ever correspond with Cyril Fagan as well?

No, I never knew about Sidereal astrology until Fagan died. My first issue of American Astrology was the one announcing his death.

Hi silver and welcome to the forum. Back in the 90s I asked your same question to a seasoned Sidereal Astrologer I met on Compu-Serve. He told me to start with “Primer of Sidereal Astrology” learning how to compute all the example charts in Primer. I purchased his same computer program and he taught me how to compute all the charts. Being able to compute all the charts involved with Sidereal Astrology is a must, and a good place to start your learning. If you decide to go in this direction I/Jim will be glad to help you, if needed.
