USA Mundane Forecast
for the four weeks beginning MAY 27, 2024

CAPSOLAR (Jan 15)
Effective Jan 15, 2024 to Jan 14, 2025.
For the full interpretation of the 2024 "year chart," click here.

ARISOLAR (Apr 14)
Effective Apr 14 to Oct 17.
For the full interpretations of the 2024 six-month Arisolar, click here.

MEDIUM-TERM (The Bridge)
June's main theme may be that positive, communal, happy conditions and negative, solitary, unhappy conditions exist hand-in-hand, intertwined, with each being the price paid for the other. These are so intermingled that it is hard to get a clear grip on these four weeks. I expect, therefore, that both extremes will exist at once most of the month.

In middle-term timing, we continue until mid-July with the coexistence of Neptune's transit to CapQ Moon and progressed Sun's conjunction with Cansolar Moon. Neptune and Sun themes are dominant with (among other things) our current and former presidents remaining at the center of every news cycle. There is, however, a significant switch this month: Saturn's square to Cansolar Ascendant ends June 11, so the first two weeks remain Neptune-Saturn-Sun themed (overlapping a morbid Saturn + Neptune Caplunar). Then, beginning June 17, Uranus starts to cross Capsolar Ascendant, introducing Neptune-Uranus-Sun for about a month. This promises to be a surreal time, a spiral dance of illusion and reality, a competition between the progressive and challenging on one hand and the comforting and (seemingly) safe on the other.

Against these two larger zones, Mars is unusually active this month, aspecting two solar ingress Moons (a worldwide effect) and two solar ingress angles (anchored to Washington with specific meaning for the U.S.). Mars squares Cansolar Moon June 3-5 (worldwide effect); then, June 14-26, it overlaps concurrent transits to Moons and angles.

Target dates to watch are June 17-20. During this time, Mars squares CanQ Moon while simultaneously transiting one or another Capsolar angles. This combination of Mars transiting a solar ingress Moon and angle at the same time has been quite volatile in the past, especially for fiery eruptions, including such things as ruptured pipelines, bombs and other explosions, erupting tempers and local concentrations of violence, collapsed peace efforts, and weaponizing ordinary things in unusual ways.

Uranus takes her first steps into the constellation Taurus this month, starting to put Uranus and Aries themes behind us. If history is a reliable guide (as it usually is). See the Outer Planet Sign Transits page for discussions of Uranus in Aries and Taurus.
  • START-Jun 2: Neptune Saturn Sun
  • Jun 3-Jun 5: Neptune Saturn Mars Sun
  • Jun 6-Jun 11: Neptune Saturn Sun
  • Jun 12-Jun 13: Neptune Sun
  • Jun 14-Jun 16: Neptune Mars Sun
  • Jun 17-Jun 19: Neptune Uranus Mars x2 Sun [Cp MC, CnQ Mo]
  • Jun 20: Neptune Uranus Mars x2 Sun [CaQ Mo, Cp EP]
  • Jun 21-END: Neptune Uranus Mars Sun
Mars enters Aries. Uranus makes her first entry into Taurus near the end of the month. The United States' natal chart has a progressed New Moon, suggesting a significant reorientation, entering a new phase, or starting a new 30 year cycle. A Mars-Pluto square contacts U.S. natal Pluto, marking one of the more volatile points of the U.S. Pluto return cycle.
  • May 27-30: t Mars continues to cross U.S. natal angles
  • Jun 2: Mars enters ARIES
  • Jun 2: Mars-Eris conjunction (0°13' Aries)
  • Jun 8: U.S.A. progressed New Moon 27°49' Aquarius
  • Jun 11: Mars-Pluto sq (6°41' Ari-Cap) = USA r Pluto (5°56' Cap)
  • Jun 17: Uranus enters TAURUS

CAPLUNAR (May 27) Effective May 27-Jun 23
Saturn is 0°31' from Midheaven. Moon opposes Neptune 0°35' in mundo. (See the mundoscope above.) This combination speaks of dark days in an unhappy month, especially its first two weeks.

Drawing the same chart in azimuth discloses two otherwise invisible aspects: Nonangular Jupiter and Uranus square the closely angular Saturn (Sa = Ju/Ur is 0°18' wide). One meaning of this combination is that anticipated progress and breakthroughs are suddenly halted or blocked. Jupiter-Saturn is political and economic, basing decisions on "What will it cost me to win?" and "What do I gain if I lose?" Saturn-Uranus marks stubborn, polarized heel-digging gridlock. Both suggest a seesaw (Ju-Ur) or tug of war (Sa-Ur) between opposing positions, the resulting tensions often causing literal or figurative structural collapses.

In short, these four weeks will be marked by dark, unhappy times with widening extremes of prosperity and other conditions, arising from political positioning. In the war of good things vs. bad things, the bad things win for now.

ARILUNAR (Jun 2)
The Arilunar is dormant. The Caplunar continues in full control for Washington. Worldwide, Moon conjoins Mars (0°14'), a common sign of war and many kinds of hurt. In Washington, there is also a Moon-Pluto mundane square (0°33'), probably showing the need for people in government to grapple with emerging severe conditions. If there is to be a 2024 summer surge in new Covid-19 cases, it will begin this week.

The only local U.S. planet lines - all severe - are in the Midwest and Plains. Moon-Mars sets on a curve from central Texas through eastern Minnesota (including Austin, Dallas, and Minneapolis) and squares MC on a line straight up the middle of the Plains. Pluto is on IC on a longitude shared by eastern Louisiana through western Wisconsin and squares Ascendant on a curve from New Orleans across western Tennessee and Kentucky through central Indiana and Michigan. These planetary forces are as likely to create deadly weather conditions as any other sort of severity and disruption, though violent (and perhaps deadly) confrontations (as between citizens and law enforcement) are also likely along the Moon-Mars lines.

CANLUNAR (Jun 9) Effective Jun 9-16
This will be the best week of the month, with mostly positive things resulting. It seems, though, that they come at a high cost. Something important will need to be sacrificed.

First the good news: Jupiter is 0°05' from Eastpoint. Venus and Sun, also foreground, are closely conjunct. Benefic themes are highlighted: Individual prosperity and the well-being of the nation are both on the rise. These planets angular are common for events that resolve conflict and bring peace, having been historically present (for example) at the victorious end of warring. Compassion softens the blows of hardship.

However, Saturn squares Sun-Venus, with Sun-Saturn being only 0°01' wide. This signals a steep price tag. With Sun-Saturn, even happy events occur under arduous, demanding conditions that may warrant honoring whoever or whatever was sacrificed.

LIBLUNAR (Jun 16) Effective Jun 16-23
This week surprises us! It's hard to say exactly what will happen because the whole theme is surprise - last minute turn-overs in whatever game we are watching - surprise endings to stories where we thought we knew where they were headed. Uranus on Westpoint, almost singularly foreground (sign Moon-Pluto mundane square 0°11' ), signals all this.

It would be wonderful if the Supreme Court started their end-of-June marathon early this year because almost everything we expect to hear from them would be terrible news. It would be fabulous to have a head-spinning surprise ending to some of those matters. (Otherwise, they all will occur under next week's Caplunar which screams for populist uprising and protest.)

Sun-Mercury are conjoined in azimuth, due west (i.e., on the Vertex). This placement doesn't signal they are angular but does emphasize the aspect. Normally Sun-Mercury is so neutral - tied into whatever else is going on - that it's hard to give it distinct, individual meaning beyond highlight transportation, communication, and commerce themes. Whatever else this ingress anticipates is guaranteed headline space. We may not understand what this is until we're in the middle of the week.

Pres. Biden's Lunar Returns

Post by Jim Eshelman »

SIDEREAL LUNAR RETURN (Jun 3)
Effective Jun 2-30. Although indications in this SLR are mixed, messages about how the world regards and treats Pres. Biden are positive and clear: Sun-Venus and Mercury-Jupiter conjunctions cluster near Ascendant (supported by transiting Uranus). These are all signs of respect, high regard, popularity, and reward. Leadership shines from him. His words and ideas are well-received. Objectively, things seen great for him.

The rising Mercury-Jupiter-Uranus conjunction (closer mundanely than ecliptically) opposite natal Sun-Venus forms six aspects that are strong for praise, appreciation, and happiness.

The president born with a Sun-Venus conjunction rising opposite Uranus exactly on Descendant has a lunar return with a Sun-Venus conjunction rising and foreground Uranus. In fact, both Suns, both Venuses, and both Uranuses are foreground. His natal Uranus is the strongest of eleven angular planets: Personally, he desires renewal, refreshment, and innovation and brings this agenda to the table.

Against this, his natal Saturn rises and natal Mars is on Westpoint. I don't think this means that he shows up ready to work hard and struggle valiantly for what he wants. (He always does that.) I think it means that what he now attempts is, to him, more of a struggle - feels more like hard work - is more arduous and difficult than in the past. Despite angular Suns, this is not a strong chart for his health. Background Moon closely conjunct Mars and square Pluto taxes his immune system. Age seems to catch up to him this month.

The rising transiting Sun-Venus conjoins natal Saturn. Mundanely, Sun-Saturn is 0°05' wide and Venus-Saturn 0°14' wide. Sun-Saturn is common for physical discomfort, a feeling of heaviness, with doubts blocking enthusiasm, though it's excellent for hard work. Venus-Saturn (when it doesn't have a more private meaning) resists "taking in the love" - has a hard time thinking one deserves praise and affection - resists support from others and indulges one's sense of one's own shortcomings. Commonly it feels like one has failed a person or thing that one loves most.

Objectively, it's a positive fortnight. Subjectively, it weighs heavily on him.

SIDEREAL DEMI-LUNAR RETURN (Jun 17)
Effective Jun 16-30. The Demi-Lunar is quite simple compared to the complex, layered, nuanced full SLR. It also has an opposite meaning: Things turn from objectively good to objectively bad.

This Demi-SLR has one strong message: Transiting Saturn is 1° from Midheaven. Circumstances objectively turn against him, weigh on him, manifest more defeats than wins. As this fortnight covers the annual period when the Supreme Court issues its most controversial decisions, these defeats may rest primarily in the court.

More likely, though, they are more far-ranging. His next SLR June 30 as a stationary Saturn even closer to an angle. Things get harder, not easier, in the weeks to come. His next four fortnight charts are harsh and arduous.

Close Mars and Pluto aspects to his natal Moon continue to confront him with obstacles, including strains on his health.

Well, one pleasant surprise today: The Court ruled 8-1 that yes, the Second Amendment allows removing guns temporarily from people posing a threat, including domestic abusers. The law blocking abusers from owning a gun is constitutionally allowed.

I was surprised to hear this ruling. A part of me was really happy, thinking that certain homes would be safer now from rash actions in the heat of the moment that lead to dire consequences of violence, and that guns are for killing and culturally we should realize killing anything has long reaching ramifications and shouldn't ever be though of as not a big deal.
but another part of me was sad and felt that killers will always find a way with or with a gun, and that this ruling will only enrage the people with guns and make them more inclined to misdirected acts of violence and fear.
I definitely think it's a step in the right direction and hopefully will allow us time to learn to better communicate our thoughts and feelings with each other and teach us how to be empathetic more as a species with each other.

Perhaps this isn't the place to exchange elaborate views on the gun issue, but I'll briefly mention my main thoughts: A move for stronger gun restrictions is often met with the criticism, "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns." I find that argument fails when you look at every other country in the world with stronger gun laws: The U.S. is the only country in the world with this large scale of gun violence - nobody else is close - and we have the weakest restrictions.

Critics also cite that states with the strongest gun laws often have high gun-related crime. I believe this is entirely because there is no national constraint; e.g., a lot of guns show up and do violence in Los Angeles not because of California's restrictions but because Arizona has almost none at all. (There probably also is an impact from the Mexican border.)

The law upheld in this Supreme Court decision doesn't impact ordinary people who want to have firearms. It only keeps those that a court has found dangerous (in one specific way) from having them - people already deemed dangerous by a court because of violence they previously committed.

Personally, I regret the Second Amendment exists and truly believed it should have been legally understood (reading it verbatim) to only authorize this level of gun rights to people who were formally a part of a militia, e.g., National Guard or military reserve. However, the Supreme Court decided otherwise years ago and interpreted it as the right for individuals to own guns period. OK, that's what we're left with and I accept it. They've also affirmed that none of the guaranteed rights are absolute when they are abused or used to harm (my paraphrase, not their words), as in the present case.

With this understanding - that people have clear rights unless they forfeit them by abusive actions and the government can reasonably manage the matter - I think gun ownership should be treated like driving a car with laws specifying things like minimum age, the need for a renewable license, necessary testing before getting the license, registration of your equipment, possibly a need for insurance, and having the license revoked if you exercise the right in a criminal or harmfully negligent way.

I probably won't get my wish on that.

Guns kill. They exist for no reason but to kill. Giving unrestricted access to guns means giving unrestricted access to something that exists for no major purpose other than to kill something or someone.

And yes, I agree, people who care most about their guns will (as a group) be most angered if their gun ownership is restricted. However, most of them won't be affected by the current ruling because most of them aren't routinely violent toward other people. Those that are impacted have already proven that they will hurt other people. Angry or not, removing weapons from them seems utterly reasonable to me.

Well, as a person who has gotten unreasonably angry and violent and very much seeming out of total control, removing guns from people known to have these patterns is a most excellent idea.

Exactly! Also clear to see all the negative mental Neptune on him from his current SSR. Assuming he was home for his 2023 SSR, would you label his SSR Moon-Neptune as a Paran on Vx? p SSR Moon dogging t Saturn---defintely not good for his health---sad to see someone in his mental/physical health debating anything. I don't see him making it much longer regardless of the outcome of this election process.

I have a couple of minutes before getting out of the door for the day. The main things of his current SSR (calculated for the White House) is two foreground Neptunes and a close Moon square to natal Saturn. We knew this would be one of his worst years - but next year, beginning late November 2024, is even worse.

Transiting Neptune is 2°58' past Descendant. Natal Neptune is 4°26' before Ascendant. Moon square his Saturn is 1°17'.

But, as I think you saw, transiting Moon is on Vx, 0°04'. Looking at ML for AAR Moon and the two Neptunes (dropping 90° multiples), we see:

29°55' - t Neptune
-----------------------
0°01' - t Moon
0°18' - r Neptune

Yup, if PVP aspects are valid, his current SLR has Moon square transiting Neptune 0°06' and natal Neptune 0°17'.

Of course, two Neptunes and a Moon-Saturn square are already pretty bad. Adding partile non-foreground aspects we get Mars conjunct his Sun 0°55' and Jupiter square his Pluto 0°12'. It's a hard year. (Netanyahu didn't help him a bit this year.)

That was the saddest most depressing/embarrassing Presidential Debate I have ever witness/felt-- with an astrological signature of Moon-Saturn-Neptune pouring from Joe Biden’s psyche/solunar charts. I knew things was not good mentality and physically for the President but did not realize it was that bad.
