Progressed SSR Moon aspects (A. Marr)

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Alexander Marr, a frequent contributor to Spica, once gave the following proposed interpretations for progressed SSR Moon (which we may take as SQ or PSSR, though I think Marr only intended direct or converse SQ). I just found these in an unpacked box and thought they would be of interest. As is typical of much of Marr's work, they're pretty good!

Moon-Sun
self-confidence, energy, ambition, honors
A neutral aspect tending to self-confident starts, good business settlements if supported by benevolent or neutral planets. Also, marriage. With the assistance of Jupiter, promotions and awards. With Saturn, events such as resignations.

Moon-Mercury
intellect, communication, productions in speech and writing
A neutral aspect producing speeches, writing, and always benevolent if with Jupiter. With Uranus, sometimes too impulsive. With Neptune, criticism, scandal.

Moon-Venus
enjoyment, love, desire to associate with others
A benevolent aspect. For a man, the tendency to fall in love. To enjoy life. With Jupiter, sometimes property will be gained. With Saturn, denies wishes either by the native’s restriction or through others.

Moon-Mars
anger, irascibility, boastfulness
Mostly unfavorable. Loss of temper, leading to harmful events if supported by other planets. With Jupiter, benevolent. With Saturn, evil. Unlike Pluto, the brawls of Mars are soon over.

Moon-Jupiter
optimism, expansion, full satisfaction and realization
Benevolent throughout. Major events are characterized by an assistant planet.

Moon-Saturn
pessimism, fear, restriction, lack of self-confidence
Very unfavorable. Dismissal, resignation, etc. Loss of relatives, friends, mourning, sorrow.

Moon-Uranus
surprise, thrill, lucky chance, lucky accident
Neutral. Benevolent with Jupiter. With Venus, sudden gains. Unfavorable if joined by Mars alone (accidents). With Saturn and/or Neptune, the sudden appearance of all sorts of serious and long-lasting troubles.

Moon-Neptune
fantasy, confusion, fiction, humiliation, seduction
Mainly unfortunate. Neptune is a true malefic in all matters which deal with reality. Neptune is the opponent of Uranus. With Mars or Venus, to be found in sex scandals, probably because of Neptune’s humiliating (mortifying) character.

Moon-Pluto
shock, end of old with new beginning, recklessness
Mainly unfavorable. Without the interference of other planets, immense shock. With Jupiter, gains without one's own efforts (inheritances, legacies). With Saturn, unfortunate changes, loss of friends or relatives.

Thanks Jim. This probably applies to progressed moon as well as Ssr moon. It has a similar/same vibe to it. I don't know if this thread is meant to also discuss or share our experiences with these aspects in the SSR... but it seems like a good place to do that. 👍 If not I can move it to another thread and delete it here.

Strangely enough sometimes this does not apply at all, it doesn't turn out to be particularly prevalent. Perhaps that also has to do with the angularity of the aspect. I have a tight Moon - Mars opposition in this current SSR, and yet there was no anger issues or dispute aside from only just after my birthday while I was on holiday. However, I felt irritations throughout the year because of menopause hormonal imbalance and I also had a surgery and a blood cleanse (mars) ... but not at the time of the Moon opposing Mars precisely. But maybe when it's a partile aspect it is active the whole year. The t. Jup opp r. Moon has most likely also helped to mitigate any irritations.

For the upcoming SSR I see there is a pretty tight Moon-Pluto opposition, which is a repetition from solar arc aspect. So this may be a triggering year for some kind of immense shock. It's tied in with Uranus as well, so maybe very sudden and unexpected.

It's certainly active all year if partile - a basic part of the SSR - and even if it's wider. Certainly within 3° is active all year in a distinctive way, much in the way that something angular is a basic expression all year.

It will be interesting to watch this in my wife's new SSR tomorrow night that opens with Jupiter angular to the minute of arc, and Moon square Jupiter 0°58' applying. I expect Moon-Jupiter to be a feature of the entire year, but suspect it will peak in some distinctive way in about a month (depending on other returns and probably SSR quotidians for peak timing) - and then Moon goes on to oppose natal Uranus, square Venus, and square natal Sun later in the year. (Moon also opposes natal Mars - which should be active all year - but it's separating so won't progress to exact.)

We shall see...

WOW! Exciting times for Marion! Happy birthday to her and hope this turns out to be most beneficial. 💓

In my case the Moon-Mars aspect is partile but not angular and neither is the upcoming Moon-Pluto.
