We had car issues on the 1st when the alternator, which failed due to a leaking seal and tensioner were replaced. The total cost of repairs was $1,300 Canadian.

With Jupiter and Saturn on the angles in this DLR, there was a significant financial gain from a trade on the 30th; as well, the bank rectified an error it made a year ago now in our favour but there was a loss with the sudden car repairs.

The Jupiter closely angular on the MC and Saturn backed off the DSC did result in a mixed return with the gains far outweighing the losses.

Hopefully, that’s it for the losses this month, any future gains are always welcome though.

Great example. Glad it worked to your favor on balance :).

Wow, you are so lucky you caught that leaking seal as it could have destroyed your entire engine! That would have been a huge cost to replace. Glad you got it fixed and that things are going well!

Thanks Veronica, you’re right. The car should be replaced but we’re trying to keep it going for another year. Angular Jupiter in this Demi-SLR was, on second thought, luckier than I thought.

Why do you think it should be replaced?

From my experience and what professional technicians have told me it is far less expensive to repair a vehicle then to replace it. Unless your frame is rotten/broken, which is a severe safety concern, replacing the entire drive train, axle, engine or steering rack is a huge cost but truly nothing compared to the expense of a total new vehicle.

It’s a large van and we are, for the most part, city driving. Unlike the U.S., parking spaces are smaller and there’s a great deal of parallel parking downtown. Also, with no-fault insurance, many drive like madmen so we need something smaller to keep up with the speedsters and to get around.
