October 1, 1924, 7:00 AM CST, Plains, GA (AA)
Today the Carter Center announced that Jimmy Carter has elected home hospice care, following a series of short hospitalizations.
The 98-year-old former U.S. president has Pluto currently transiting the degree of his IC, Uranus minutes from opposite natal Moon, Saturn the degree of his Mars, Jupiter exactly opposite his Sun, Mars exactly opposite his Jupiter - as if the whole of the heavens came out to observe and conclude his final days.
He has been under heightened physical stressors of a progressed Mars-Pluto square.
I don't know how pressing his current health situation is. I see his February 25 demi-lunar has transiting Saturn 0°00' from Ascendant for Plains (presuming his given 7 AM birth time is exact), his natal Mars 1°40' from Ascendant, and Saturn conjunct his Mars 1°32'. If that is his final lunar return, he will pass in peace with natal Venus and Jupiter foreground.

Re: Jimmy Carter
Rosalyn Carter was born August 18, 1927, 6:00 AM CST, Plains, GA (A). She currently has transiting Saturn opposite her Neptune (exact to the minute in the last 24 hours) and a number of flitting fast transits in the last few days and the next few days.
Meanwhile, solar arc Neptune is a few minutes from conjunct her natal Saturn and solar arc Saturn minutes from natal Descendant. This, unsurprisingly, will hit her hard with suggestions that her health is unusually frail for the next year.
Her January 28 SLR is busy, though mostly with benefic, including Jupiter conjunct her Jupiter exactly and closely angular - just as in her SSR. Her February 12 Demi, though, has transiting Pluto 0°21' from EP-a and natal Pluto 0°55' from Descendant. Mercury transiting her Pluto (partile in mundo) is the one foreground aspect. FWIW, my published interpretation for Mercury-Pluto in a return chart ends, "Seems to show in SLRs for deaths of loved ones," as in "the phone call or conversation that hits you like a ton of bricks." Her February 24 SLR - the day before Jimmy's next Demi - has Sun conjunct natal Saturn close (and the most closely angular) and transiting Saturn square her Neptune.

Re: Jimmy Carter
Jimmy Carter entered hospice care 2/13 of this year. He will likely not survive until his next SSR. At 98 he is the oldest ex-president of the US.

OK, so I was clearly wrong: Yesterday, he celebrated his 99th birthday.mikestar13 wrote: Sat Feb 18, 2023 5:20 pm Jimmy Carter entered hospice care 2/13 of this year. He will likely not survive until his next SSR. At 98 he is the oldest ex-president of the US.
His new SSR is mixed and unsurprising. It suggests that this 99-year-old man in hospice will have difficulties, perhaps health-threatening difficulties, and will be in pretty good spirits through it all. Here is the breakdown:
r Mercury on Dsc -8°35'
r Uranus on Asc -6°29'
----------------------------
r Jupiter on MC -3°00'
t Saturn on Asc +3°45'
r Mars on Asc +4°05'
r Venus on Dsc +9°57'
t Moon-Venus sq 0°59'
t Moon sq r Mars 1°15'
t Moon sq r Venus 1°18'
t Moon-Uranus co 1°43' M
t Moon co r Neptune 2°50' M
t Saturn sq r Jupiter 0°45' M
r Mars-Jupiter sq 1°05' M
r Mercury-Uranus op 2°05' M
r Venus-Mars op 2°33'
Other partile aspects
t Venus co r Venus 0°18'
t Mercury-Neptune op 0°28'
t Uranus sq r Neptune 0°35'
t Jupiter op r Moon 0°55'

Re: Jimmy Carter
Jim Carter died today (12/29/24), at his home in Plains, GA, at age 100. There isn't much to say because we managed to say it repeatedly while he lived: He was inarguably the greatest ex-president we've ever had, an exemplar of what it means to be a private citizen, and, in my view a great president as well.
His angular Saturn is consistent with the charts of others who have lived long and ably. He persisted. He endured. (He even endured more than ten months after entering hospice care.)
His final lunar return, the day after Christmas, is typical for abrupt worsening of health matters, and - loudest of all - a symbol of love. (The number of partile foreground aspects is remarkable!)
t Mars Dsc -1°09'
t Uranus IC -1°00'
----- r Neptune W 0°00' -----
t Pluto Asc +1°11'
t Venue EP +1°20'
r Moon MC +8°49'
r Saturn N +2°50'
t Venus op r Venus 0°02' M
t Mars-Uranus 0°09' M
t Mars sq r Saturn 0°13'
t Venus op r Neptune 0°19' M
r Venus-Neptune op 0°21' M
t Uranus sq r Neptune 0°35'
t Uranus sq r Venus 0°57'
t Venus-Uranus sq 1°55'
t Mars-Pluto op 2°20' M
t Pluto sq r Saturn 2°25'
Solar Arc directions: d Saturn sq r Moon applying 0°55' was barely in orb, but is the only one. A minimally adequate showing.
Secondary progressions: This is the year of progressed Mars square natal Pluto, applying today by 0°26'. (One might have thought he would have died two months ago when progressed Moon moved through them, but he said he was committed to staying alive to vote in the November election.)
Transits: Pluto had been crossing his IC this year: His life was weaving in and out of his next step all year. Transiting Uranus was square his important Venus-Neptune conjunction (exact meaning unclear). The last tumbler was transiting Mars square his Saturn for several days, still in partile orb today.
