Hi Jim,
How are you personally Jim? Now that disastrous bushfires are hitting Los Angeles.
We see it here on the news all the time and it looks frightening.
Our very best wishes Jim to you and Marion. (and Kali)
Are you still accessible for some advice?
My son's SSR starts on February 14, 2025.
His date of birth is: Feb 14 1992 01:18AM.
Coordinates: 52N20 4E51 (suburb of Amsterdam South) Netherlands
I cannot adjust the coordinates in astrodienst to get the proper map.
Solar Fire is limited with the map too.
For his birthplace Neptune is on Zenith and a bit further north Venus as well? Natal Pluto comes to the fore.
He also has t Moon- t Saturn unfortunately and perhaps to offset this it's best to go to the Sun line not too far in Germany?
He asked me to have a look not too far away. t. Jupiter is slicing through the western part of France, it's far away.
Would you have a recomendation?
Best Regards, Flo

Re: Son 2025 SSR
Hi, Flo. Thanks for checking: We were in New Orleans for the lead-in and start of thr fires, landed in LA just after midnight Wednesday night, and got up at dawn to load ourselves, Kali, and a few things into the minivan to head out of town. Spending four days in north Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo hoping the air will clear some. (I have to be back at work Monday.)
The impact on the city will be horrendous and then we'll recover. With the Olympics coming in '28 the city has lots of motivation to get past this, rebuild, and put on a grand face. I suspect for a year or two it will be like the aftermath of the Northridge earthquake in some areas.
Regarding your son: I don't have easy access to a full computer, just watching off my phone. I have a computer and mifi with me but mostly we're places with little signal and living out of the car (minivan). I'll try to get back to this when we're in a stable place; if you see I'm back home and haven't answered, feel free to nudge me.

Re: Son 2025 SSR
I got a few minutes of signal and looked at this in TM. Starting from birthplace, one wonders if Uranus could be moved to EP-a and Jupiter moved to Ascendant. (I haven't reread your post, but this is probably what you saw.) Astromaps only work well on my home desktop (complicated technical reason about how definition files are stored across computers), but from TM I can tell that Uranus is RA 51°01' and EP is RA 51°52', so going west 0°52' would make that exact (longitude 3E49). Keeping the latitude the same, Jupiter moves slightly closer but not much. Jupiter gets closer as latitude moves south. Let's find the latitude at 3E49 where Jupiter rises exactly:
40N00 +0°18'
35N00 -2°26'
Trying 39N30: +0°01'
I won't narrow it any further (though we could, with successive trial and error). We're looking for someplace close to 3E49 39N30. Unfortunately, that's in the ocean, but very close to Palma de Mallorca. Not close enough though, it actually throws things off a few degrees. I suppose we need to get back onto the mainland.
LATER: If western France is too far, then Barcelona certainly is. I wonder, though... could he fly to Denmark? Odense (on an island off the mainland) has Sun 0°14' off MC, Venus 0°23' off Zenith. The Moon-Pluto mundane square is close and - I would call this a great aspect, but not everybody would - transiting Uranus 0°02' opposite natal Pluto is foreground still. The foreground aspects are quite exciting. I think this could be a very eye-opening (and very pleasurable) trip - or, at least, the SSR year would be.
If all of those are too far, I can't find anything closer.

Re: Son 2025 SSR
I am glad you and Marion are safe Jim. I will not bother you for now but like to note that I made a typo in my son's date of birth.
It is February 15 instead of February 14. I apologie for this error.
Keep safe. Regards, Flo

Re: Son 2025 SSR
Dear Jim,
May I ask you for his SSR to have a look again?
His date of birth is: (I gave the wrong date initially)
Feb 15 1992 1.18AM Amsterdam South Netherlands
52N20 4E51.
I looked at places and Cork in Ireland has t.Jupiter.
Eisenach in Germany is on the Sun line as well as Pisa and Livorno Italy.
There are other places on the Jupiter line but then natal Pluto comes close.
He has a t.Moon-t.Saturn and is keen to offset this aspect.
Do you reckon Cork Ireland is a good option? Or Eisenach or perhaps somewhere else I overlooked?
Many thanks again.

Re: Son 2025 SSR
Yes, let's try this again. Very different chart, of course, especially with the Moon-Saturn opposition you mentioned. That means we should try to land an exact benefic. Scanning close aspects in the chart overall, I notice Mars opposite his Uranus-Neptune, which we want to keep from the angle, and Uranus opposite his Pluto, which is neither good nor bad per se (the benefic Uranus tips it positive, though it certainly would make significant changes in his life).
The very best transit, though, is Jupiter 28' from square natal Jupiter. Landing those on or very near angles would be a big win! Either is good, though, if given the choice, I'd rather pick transiting Jupiter as somewhat more reflecting that the world is good and generous toward him for the year.
By the way, though my earlier post partly addressed the wrong birth time, I accidentally got the right SSR because I had his chart stored with the right data - and didn't even notice I was using one date in Solar Fire and a different date in Time Matters. (All corrected now.) This means that what I said about the island off Denmark stands. He can get Sun and transiting Venus there. Given the Saturn, I think Jupiter is a better idea, but that Sun and transiting Venus location is also quite good.
The Jupiter rising line passes near Barcelona, through a northwest corner of France, and through the bottom tip of Ireland. You specifically asked about Cork. (I overlooked Ireland before since you said the corner of France was too far and this looks farther.) Cork places transiting Jupiter 0°04' from Ascendant (we could probably tighten that to 0°00' with a little work) and natal Jupiter within 1° of Nadir. He has a LOT of Moon aspects, including mundane squares to natal Venus and Jupiter plus transiting Venus, but also the strong Moon-Saturn opposition. On balance, this is good, but there is sadness or loss connected - something dear. It works out fine over the 12-month period, and the double-Jupiter will make it significantly better.
So yes, I think Cork is quite good (and, in any case, as good as you'll get). Some of the smaller places on Ireland's west coast near Kirush might work as well, though I didn't recalculate to check.
Moon (which is moving 12°14' a year, so about 1°/month) applies to the opposition to Saturn by 1°11'. It will be exact slightly more than a month after his birthday (in orb from immediately after his birthday until two months later). This may be the roughest part of the year (starting, perhaps just after he returns from his birthday trip).
The other points on the Sun line don't impress me because there isn't an outright benefic. With that Moon-Saturn, you want an outright benefic overwhelmingly strong. (Cork puts Moon and Saturn at 0%-1% strong, which is great!) The place off Denmark I mentioned adds Venus to the Sun line, but the rest of the Sun line just isn't (pardon the expression) bright enough.
Quimper, France puts transiting Jupiter just as close to an angle (0°08') but also places natal Saturn 0°15' from MC. (Natal Jupiter is also extremely strong.) Cork is better.

Re: Son 2025 SSR
Thank you very much Jim.
For your help and insights.
All my questions have been answered and I keep on learning.
Initially the idea is always not to travel too far but then when favorable places come along I choose for the best option.
Son favors Cork over anything else. And will take a few days off work. That should be good.
Best wishes always,
Regards, Flo
