Francisco Franco - dictator

Post by Arena »

He was born on this day. A violent fascist dictator.

Wikipedia says:
Franco was born at half past noon on December 4, 1892, at 108 Calle Frutos Saavedra in Ferrol, Galicia.
That would put Mars partile his ASC which is quite fitting for a violent dictator. Mars is in T-square with his Moon-Sun partile opposition.
He has Neptune-Pluto almost partile conjunction (1,04°) and that conjunction interacts with the T-square.

Astrodatabank says 00.30 which would not put Mars so close to the angle.

Solar Fire comes preloaded with a chart for 0:30, which matches Astro.com. Both rate it AA, so it is from a birth certificate or comparable record. I think the Wikipedia article got the "12:30" flipped.

There's no shortage of Mars for this chart. A Scorpio Sun closely square Mars (2°19') is enough by itself. Moon squares Mars nearly as closely (3°02'), and it squares his defining Neptune-Pluto conjunction more widely. (Pretty much all the tyrannical national leaders of WW II - and many that history doesn't regard as tyrannical but were nonetheless comparably powerful and controlling - have that Neptune-Pluto conjunction. It's the mark of ideological extremists of an entire era, and gigantically strong in Franco's chart.)

Aside from the Scorpio Sun and the close luminary Mars aspects, Franco's Mars is also foreground, 9°01' below Descendant. In fact, other than Sun and Mercury (which are comparably wide at 9°47' and 7°17', respectively), it is his only foreground planet.
