Scotland's referendum on independence

Jim what method would you reccommned for looking at Scotland's referendum on independence? Is there any way that we can see whether it is going to be a yes or a no with mundane astrology?

I noticed this morning that the Canlunar which occurs in a couple of hours has Jupiter slicing right through Birmingham. I suspect this is close enough to be in the immediate foreground for London, but I haven't confirmed that yet; if it is, then I would take this as "England victorious," meaning that No wins.
OK, let's actually take a look...
Re: Scotland's referendum on independence
Jim Eshelman wrote:Yes, the Canlunar has Jupiter angular for London. But it also has Saturn.
Saturn squares Ascendant 1°04'. Jupiter is 1°48' below Descendant. Venus and Neptune are also widely foreground.
So, from this alone one cannot tell.
Looking further...
Re: Scotland's referendum on independence
Thank you Jim I do appreciate that. I was confused whether to look just at scotland or to the entire of the UK since it affects us all over here...

Jim Eshelman wrote:No, my theory is that we treat this as an event for London because that's the only national capital involved at this exact moment.
The Capsolar has Neptune exactly square Ascendant, so it's a nervous, anxious year. (The Moon-Jupiter-Pluto aspects that affect the whole world have a particular significance here, as showing the whole secession movement to begin with.)
The Cansolar has Saturn rising within 0°07', so it is dispiriting for England and there is a pending feeling of loss.
The Caplunar certainly shows that there is a threat of separation. Again, the signals are a little mixed. Jupiter is in wide orb of WP, but the real key is that Pluto is less than a degree from Ascendant.
So, all of the charts leading up to today is very secession oriented. This could always mean that we are just seeing the THREAT of it, but, taken as a whole, they look fiercely separative. Then the new Canlunar comes in with mixed messages, Saturn and Jupiter equally strong.
So let's look at the final factors for the day...
Re: Scotland's referendum on independence
Jim Eshelman wrote:London's CapQ has various Neptunes (primarily, Capsolar Neptune) on Westpoint. This Capsolar Neptune is exactly transited (square) by Mars today, though Mars itself is not angular. At the very least, this shows high anxiety and no small amount of uncertainty.
Mars is just barely with a 2° orb of conjunct the London Capsolar Ascendant. This will be exact in a few days, but will essentially be in orb for about a week beginning today. Does this apply to the event at all? Presuming it does, I'm inclined to interpret it as saying there is a fight ahead, i.e., the voting is so close that it is heavily disputed and things get psychologically bloody for a few days.
The Cansolar doesn't add anything.
Looks to me like Yes wins. The whole tone of the year, down to today, is separatist, severing. Today, the signals are mixed in the new lunar ingress. The daily charts look like a psychologically blisteringly bad day for England. It looks like a fight over the next few days.
Re: Scotland's referendum on independence
Thank you Jim, you are right about being a bad day. Wales is not too happy about it either and my feeling is that it will eventually follow suit. Can one predict this type of events by looking at the national currency?

Maybe I am in a close understanding of the Scottish people's referendum since I am also from a place on earth that has gone through this process of becoming independent in last century - so in my opinion this process is much more important for the Scottish people than the English.
So it can be seen from a London perspective and an Edinburgh perspective."Edinburgh has been recognised as the capital of Scotland since at least the 15th century (after Scone, Perth, Roxburgh, and Stirling, respectively) but political power moved south to London after the Union of the Crowns in 1603 and the Union of Parliaments in 1707." BTW, I did also look at the charts for Edinburgh, but they weren't worth detailing. They either gave no answer or the same answer.
Re: Scotland's referendum on independence
I agree with Jim, it is a UK perspective... to begin with we can say goodbye to the Union Jack

I'm still very curious what the Mars is all about. The next week should show it.

The results are here... Scotland has voted NO !

Re: Scotland's referendum on independence
Although Scotland has chosen unity over division by a staggering majority, as a result of this vote all UK nations will have more say in their own affairs..... which, IMO, matches this symbolism very wellJim Eshelman wrote:

Re: Scotland's referendum on independence
Arena wrote:I think this referendum was very important for Scotland as well as the whole UK as Freya said, the result is that they will have more say in their matters. So in a way it is a victory of a kind for Scotland although it is not total independence. I do not consider that the Scottish people voted NO - almost half the Scottish people voted YES and just over a half of Scottish people voted NO. It is not a big majority victory of No sayers.
So this probably will mean progress for the UK as a whole.
