Re: The PSN - New progression system to test
Got it! (Easier to do spreadsheets riding in a car than one might suspect.) I'll post an updated PSSR spreadsheet in a few minutes that will have a new tab for PSN that also includes a display of results if it is calculated for apparent solar rate.
This still doesn't consider the highly variable factor of how long individual sidereal years have been since birth, including the current one; but it does give easier access to the difference between mean and apparent solar rates for the angles, which can then be tweaked as discussed previously by comparison of the value one gets for the moment of one's current SSR.

Re: The PSN - New progression system to test
Ok Jim, interesting testing.
But please do tell me, do these progressions differ a lot from the "normal" progressions?
Should this PSN match up with each and every solar return's progression as well?
I don't have SF, so I can't do any testing.
Would be interesting to look at PSN at the time I moved to Edinburgh last year (30th June 2016) since it now feels like it is indeed a permanent move and an entirely new chapter in my book of life. Normal progressed Moon at the time is one of many reasons I truly doubt Fagan-Bradley ayanamsa.

Re: The PSN - New progression system to test
Progressed angles match the PSSR by definition, yes. As for pace of progressions compared to secondary progressions, they are quite different - it's an alternative progression system moving a little more than 25% faster (a bit more than a day and a quarter per year of life).
I'm on the road this week, answering this off my phone, but I'll be happy to check yours for that date when I get to a real computer. (I'm not clear what progressed Moon has to do with an ayanamsa, but I'll be happy to check the aspects for you anyway.)

It runs at approximately 5/4 times the rate of normal secondary progressions.Arena wrote: Sat Jun 03, 2017 2:49 am But please do tell me, do these progressions differ a lot from the "normal" progressions?

It matches the PSSR's angles exactly all the time.
Think of the PSN as the PSSR of the first year of life, but which never stops because it's from the natal chart. That is, the natal planets progress continuously through the lifetime as the PSN; in all subsequent SSRs the PSSR planets expire when the next SSR occurs.

Arena, this is your PSN for 6/30/2016, Edinburgh. As you can see, you arrived in Edinburgh on a day with your PSN Sun/Pluto partile midpoint= IC/MC axis. (If I understand Jim's math about adjusting the true angles for this day, you would add about 1 degree to the MC/IC axis, which will not change this partile/direct angular midpoint). Ebertin says about this aspect with MC:Would be interesting to look at PSN at the time I moved to Edinburgh last year (30th June 2016) since it now feels like it is indeed a permanent move and an entirely new chapter in my book of life.
Also, some astrologers say potent Pluto hits have a-lot to do with permanent/fated stuff, or at the very least, a strong feeling of permanent/fated cycles. Obviously, this moment/day in your life begins a very important cycle in your life.…consciousness of purpose or objective…

Plus, Pluto's on the IC!
Re: The PSN - New progression system to test
Thank you guys. Interesting. So, Steve, would you always cast the progressed chart to the relocation instead of casting the natal progression? Steve, how much does that progressed IC move for 23.23 birth time?
What I also notice is that EP/WP angle is close to Jupiter
PSN Venus has long passed by my n. Sun (by normal rate it is about to conjunct the Sun in 2018) ... I wonder when it was on the Sun by this method and if that had anything to do with my relationship.
Scales, very true, there is the Pluto symbolism. But that is also seen in transit chart to natal MC. I think it was also in the SSR, Pluto and Uranus.

Re: The PSN - New progression system to test
Jim, my comment about my pr. Moon and the ayanamsa have to do with the Moon being in the last degree of Scorpio, it had not entered Sagittarius on 30th June 2016. I happen to think that it does not fit the situation. But as you know, I've been looking into versions of galactic centre ayanamsa (mid-mula) ... (which seems to be a very sensitive issue to some people in here ). That ayanamsa would have my pr. Moon in Sagittarius in the beginning of 2016, when the decision about relocation was made and planning/preparations begun.
That ayanamsa also would have had Uranus in Aries when Hitler became Chancellor and Trump president.

The amount of doubt about the Ayanamsa is zero, though you're welcome to your views
I don't think that sign changes like this are so precarious on timing. I do see a mild background tend of progressed Moon's sign, and had a similar situation to yours when I left Indiana, boarded a plane for the first time, and relocated to Southern California - the day after progressed Moon entered Sagittarius. In this case it was a bigger deal because it showed the airplane flight itself (which was quite new to me), though "new phase of life" could have worked out anytime in the few months following.
In your case, Moon entered Sagittarius about a week after you arrived in your new home. I wouldn't expect the "new phase symbolism" until after you'd emerged in the new place.
In any case, I get your thinking
To make some things clear about PSN: Initially, don't worry about the angles. They're another type of quotidian or, rather, a repurposing of the PSSR angles that would theoretically apply to a particular date. What I'd really like to have people experiment with is the planetary aspects - as an alternative to secondary progressions much as terts are another form of progression. Progressed-to-progressed aspects, progressed-to-natal aspects.
We know how to exactly calculate the angles of the PSN, but it's complicated. We have a fast, easy technique that, however, is only an estimate and can be a few degrees off (but should make it very easy to test the progressed planet aspects). I'm working on something to make precision calculation a lot easier.

Arena, I always cast Quotidian Charts for the location, but understand, I still live close to my birth location, but I know this from personal experience: With a-lot of experimentation moving myself long distance from birth location for certain objectives, the location chart, without a doubt, reflects par-excellent symbolism with my personal experiences. Nothing on the primary angles with the 23:23 time.
