June 2, 2017, a few minutes after midnight (= June 1 4:00 PM GMT), Manila, Philippines (at Resorts World Manila, 14N31'08'', 121E01'12'').

CNN: "Thirty-five [now 37] people are dead after an attack at a casino in a resort in Manila. But authorities in the Philippines aren't calling it a terrorist attack. A lone gunman went into the casino area of Resort World Manila firing shots and setting gambling tables on fire. Most of the victims weren't shot though; they died of suffocation while hiding in a bathroom. The gunman committed suicide. We don't know who he is but police say he's a foreigner. So if this wasn't a terrorist attack, what was it? The theory is this may have been a robbery, because the gunman took millions in gaming chips and stuffed them in a backpack."

At first thought, the charts are pretty bad. It seems (with a minor exception) to be through-and-through a Jupiter event. On reconsideration, I think this is because (aside from the venue) it was basically a robbery, for which this is fairly appropriate. (The biggest robberies of all time tend to have Jupiter dominance.) I don't think this was a big event - ultimately, a local robbery that had some unexpected and unplanned fatal consequences. But it's an interesting example.

ISIL has claimed responsibility for an urban attack on London Bridge. A van "mounted athe sidewalk and mowed down pedestrians." Ten people were killed, including the three attackers; 48 were wounded. The attack ran from 9:58 to 10:16 PM.

The attack began with Saturn rising, Mars setting, and Venus near IC.

This morning (6/5/17), an unhappy ex-employee started shooting up an Orlando factory, killing five people before killing himself.

A quick check shows the Liblunar with Saturn rising, Uranus square Capsolar Ascendant, and Neptune conjunct Cansolar Ascendant. The CanQ probably just showed the publicity, with transiting Mercury on Descendant square ingress Moon.

Tensions seem to be flaring all over the place.

June 3, 2017, 10:55 CEST approx, Turin Italy

Between 20 and 30,000 fans were watching a soccer game on large screen tvs set up in the San Carlos square in Turin Italy, Saturday, June 3, 2017. Although security was keeping people from bringing in plastic water bottles, unpermitted vendors were selling beer in glass bottles.

The only time I can find is "minutes before the attack at the London Bridge began" (so about 10:55 CEST) a loud noise (fireworks, a trash can knocked over, something loud) was heard and some people began shouting bomb. It started a stampede out of the square, injuring over 1500 people, 3 to 5 very seriously. While the most serious injuries were crush injuries, there were over a thousand serious cuts from broken beer bottles as people whose shoes had come off in the crush stepped on them trying to get out. A fence around a subway entrance was knocked down and some people fell 7 feet onto the concrete floor of the subway station.

The Islamic State, which has never previously attacked Iran, launched a two-pronged threatening and deadly assault this morning: June 7, 2017, beginning about 10:30 AM and lasting for several hours, dual attacks at high profile sites (the Iranian Parliament and Khomeini's tomb) killed at least 12 people (plus 6 of the assailants), and injured 42 others. (The mausoleum assault began "shortly before 11:00 AM," a little later than the Parliament attack; I think 10:30 is still our best start time for the whole event.)

The attack was a combination of assault rifles, hand grenades, and suicide bomb vests (at least one vest was triggered). Iran security forces had much trouble containing the attack.

Iran was one of the places I picked out in my monthly forecast as highly vulnerable due to the Mars-Saturn opposition in the Canlunar. Other than that, there is a strange recurring lunar symbolism, the exact meaning of which I don't know. Finally, transiting Mars has just begun its transit of CanQ Moon, which will last three or four days.

You've all probably read the outcome: Conservative Party PM Theresa May thought the tone had shifted enough that calling an election would increase the size of her party's majority, and make the Brexit process to more smoothly. In fact, her party lost seats and lost the majority. Now, to retain her office, she'll have to form a coalition government with one of the more liberal parties.

This happened even in the immediate aftermath of Manchester and the London Bridge - events that normally would give anti-European conservatives an advantage.

If she had a Sidereal astrologer on her staff, she probably wouldn't have called the election when she did. In the environment of already volatile solar ingresses, the current Caplunar for London has Pluto exactly setting and Moon nearby: The same kind of "throw the bums out" sentiment that brought her into power last year has a different effect when she runs the majority. The Liblunar, or "chart of the week," is even more telling with the well-known "removal" aspect of Saturn-Neptune: Saturn is 1°53' off MC, Neptune 0°27' off Ascendant, and their mundane square is 1°26' wide (notice that is a 01' midpoint setup).

If I were the head of government of a country, I would never voluntarily call an election when one lunar ingress had Pluto angular, and the other had Saturn-Neptune!

For the day, the CapQ seemed happy and, well, voting: Mercury and Venus were on angles. But, worldwide, Mars is opposing CanQ Moon, so it was going to be an angry day. (The same two planets were on CanQ angles.)

Japan's Emperor Akihito has wanted to abdicate because of advanced age and failing health, but it's illegal. This has been a warm topic for over a year. with even some concern that, if he asked Parliament for a change in the rules, it might decide it's time to remove the monarchy altogether.

Well, it went much more his way. Yesterday, without further action or drama, Japan's Parliament authorized a one-shot exception for Akihito to abdicate if he wishes (which he does, and probably soon will).

I've cited Japan as a high-volatile at-risk place this month, and I don't think this is the event. The basis of that prediction is severe and hurtful, and tis action is not.

With a dormant Capsolar, Tokyo has a Cansolar persisting with Sun at MC partile square an exactly setting Uranus, so there was little doubt last summer, when this was being tossed around, that something would allow Akihito to cease being Emperor. (The universal Moon-Jupiter square probably tipped this to "keep the monarchy," but that didn't feel so obvious at the time.) We're still under the May 29 Canlunar for Tokyo (since the Liblunar is dormant), and it has that 0°06' Mars-Saturn opposition along the meridian which, as mentioned above, is far to severe for this action.

Yesterday's CapQ had ingress Jupiter on IC, which is pro-royalty, even as transiting Pluto was on WP. The Cansolar, already Uranus-driven, had transiting Uranus 22' from square MC, plus Venus transiting WP (a nice, friendly version of "remove the emperor"). The CanQ has a world-wide transit of Mars to CanQ Moo, which doesn't seem connected to this event, and transiting Saturn just creeping into orb of one CanQ angle, while ingress Jupiter was in its last dah of another.

Yesterday wasn't a happy day for multiple heads of government (except for the one in Japan who wants to leave his job). Transiting Mars opposite CanQ Moon seems to be stirring the waters this way more than through outright violence, at least for yesterday. (There is also the ongoing Moon-Uranus aspects in every lunar ingress for everywhere.)

James Comey testified before the Senate in a media frenzy of coverage. We don't know for sure where this is going yet (though I've made predictions about it), but yesterday can't have been a great day to be in the White House unless you had the time to work on updating your resume.

Mostly, this ongoing drama is being tracked in my predictions (and Trump has a new SLR today that was already in effect yesterday on the one-day-lead principle). Washington's Caplunar is splendid (Venus-Jupiter across the horizon). The Canlunar, which is still live for the second of its three-week run, has the Moon-Uranus square most angular, and a Moon-Mercury-Pluto pattern for which I predicted high publicity, a media feeding frenzy, and involuntary testimony.

Anything about yesterday specifically? Well, besides the universal Mars transit to CanQ Moon, we're in a Mars-Saturn-Pluto zone overall. Pluto transits Capsolar Westpoint, while Saturn conjoins Cansolar MC. Yesterday, the CapQ had Venus-Neptune on the angles (somebody is feeling betrayed, you betcha) and, in addition to the Mars-Moon transit, the CanQ brought the Sun-Uranus square exactly to the angles. A 66-year-old Illinois businessman opened fire on a Republican baseball team practice, wounding one member of Congress (the Majority Whip, struck in the hip) and four others. It was described as "a chaotic, terror-filled ten minutes" (NYT).

As the first shot rang out, Saturn was 1° from WP opposite Sun 0°08' from EP. Mars was 5° above Ascendant.

The charts get violent the closer we get to the date and time of the shooting. For the most part, though, they read especially like charts of political protest more than the typical shooting event.

"A shooting at a United Parcel Service facility in San Francisco killed multiple people this morning, according to a UPS spokesman. Five suffered gunshot wounds, including the gunman, whose wound was self-inflicted, according to San Francisco Police Chief William Scott." (LA Times)

So far, four deaths reported. The shooter was a UPS driver, in uniform. SF Police think it However, this looks quite liker a boiler-plate mass murder, set up from the moment of the Capsolar, narrowed by the Bridge, starkly marked by the Caplunar, and then finalized on the day.

From rereading the monthly forecast, I just realized that yesterday (June 14), the day that had three national-news shooting events - spread out, disconnected - Washington had Mars on both CapQ and CanQ angles for the day.

2:30 AM local time, Saturday June 17, 2017, 12 miles off the Izu Pennsula and 56 from Yokosuku, Japan, a US Navy destroyer and a commercial container ship collided. The destroyer was partially crippled, four sailors including the Commander were airlifted to hospital by the Japanese coast guard, and 7 sailors are missing.

An explosion from a suicide bomb occurred outside Chuangxin kindergarten, while parents were picking up their children. It killed eight people and injured 65 others in a bloody, nightmarish scene. Police have identified a suspect, a mentally ill 22-year-old man who died at the scene. None of the dead were kindergarten children or teachers.

The charts are quite exceptional: Pluto for the year, Mars for the quarter, Uranus and lunar aspects for the month and week, and a Pluto transit and Mars, Uranus, and Pluto quotidian crossings (plus Saturn and Neptune Qs and a Mars transit) for the day.

June 18, 2017, Pedrogao Grande, Portugal (use 3:30 AM)

Portugal's worst disaster in many decades is a forest fire raging through the center of the country that has killed at least 61 people so far, consuming many of them as they tried to drive their cars out of the burning area. (A similar number are injured so far.) The PM has declared three days of national mourning.

Current opinion is that a lightning strike started the blaze. For comparison, the last deadliest fire was in 1966, when 25 people died fighting the fire.

The fire was already burning June 17. Witnesses describe it as smaller, thinking it far away. One witness speaks of waking at 3:30 AM June 18 as the fire had gotten closer and stronger. Though this is hardly the start of the fire, it may be the best time to assess it rapidly accelerating in strength (since we have no other particular time anyway). Other accounts describe the fires more broadly as arising during the night of June 17-18, so this is in the range of reasonable times.

The charts aren't without merit, though they don't have the typical markers. Jupiter-Pluto marks a large destructive event with similar characteristics, and Saturn's transit of Cansolar Descendant is on the money. The rest isn't very useful. Perhaps the charts are better for Lisbon? (I'll check shortly.)

Police were called at 00:21hrs to Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park, to reports of a van colliding with pedestrians.

That's London, 06-19-2017. A man ran a van into groups of people outside a mosque at high speed. He was hauled out of the van but then protected by worshipers till the police arrived and could take him into custody. One person died, but it appears that was someone who'd collapsed in the street before the attack and was being given first aide when the van ran into the group.

Supporters of both Isis and white supremacists are using this incident as propaganda.

Coalition aircraft conducted a show of force and stopped the initial pro-regime advance toward the SDF-controlled town.
Following the Pro-Syrian forces attack, the Coalition contacted its Russian counterparts by telephone via an established ‘de-confliction line’ to de-escalate the situation and stop the firing.

At 6:43 p.m., a Syrian regime SU-22 dropped bombs near SDF fighters south of Tabqah and, in accordance with rules of engagement and in collective self-defense of Coalition partnered forces, was immediately shot down by a U.S. F/A-18E Super Hornet.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Syria time, June 18, Pro-Syrian regime forces attacked the Syrian Democratic Forces-held town of Ja'Din, South of Tabqah, wounding a number of SDF fighters and driving the SDF from the town.
Ja'Din sits approximately two kilometers north of an established East-West SDF-Syrian Regime de-confliction area.

The tipper was transiting Mars conjoining Paris' 15°28' Gemini Capsolar MC. "Time for some new violence in Gay Paree." (Orb 0°37' from 3 PM, for example.) And, to double-up, Paris' Cansolar Asc is 15°33' Gemini, so Mars conjoins that, too.

The CanQ grabbed Neptune, for the usual "street madness" effect.

The Supreme Court announced today that it will review, in October, the appellate court decisions against Pres. Trump's travel bans.

Additionally, it gave him a partial victory today. The White House had asked that the prior court decisions be stayed (temporarily suspended). In response, the Supreme Court gave partial relief by temporarily modifying the restrictions: “We grant the government’s applications to stay the injunctions, to the extent the injunctions prevent enforcement of [Trump’s executive order] with respect to foreign nationals who lack any bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States.”

New York Times summarized the meaning this way: "The justices, in effect, said that foreigners with ties or relationships in the United States would not be prohibited from entering the country. But, those applying for visas who had never been here, or had no family, business or other ties could be prohibited." (IMHO, from a security point of view this actually makes sense.)

This is surprising - that the White House got any relief at all - at a time when Trump's personal charts are quite severe, and Saturn transits Midheaven of the Cansolar; so I'm interested in looking at the mundane charts of the particular event today. BTW, perhaps the most important observation of today's event IMHO is that we got to see the first import vote by Justice Gorsuch, and it did indeed align with the right: Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch dissented from the other six, and would have stayed the orders against the ban entirely.

I'm going to take the Court's usual start hour, 10 AM today (10/26/17), as the event time. We already know that the Capsolar is Sun-Jupiter-Uranus dominated, and the Arisolar dormant but with a Moon-Neptune aspect.

In reviewing the charts below, it's hard to judge their appropriateness because we don't yet know the repercussions of this decision. With what we do know, it seems to me that what separates today from any other day this summer in Washington is (1) a more friends-and-family-friendly tone and (2) increased confusion.

June 25, 2017, 6:00 PKT (1:00 UT), Ahmedpur East, Bahawalpur District, Pakistan.

At least 153 people died when a fuel tanker exploded. (140 are still listed as injured, though some of these may move from Column B to Column A.) The tanker, carrying 6,600 gallons of fuel, veered off the road, capsized, and was leaking. The people were rushing toward it to collect the escaping fuel in pots, and were caught in the explosion. Some people were speeding to the site on motorbikes, and the blast was so extreme that photos show motorbikes and automobiles burned to husks with windows exploded and tires melted.

The cause of the explosion may have been pure stupidity. People at the scene began calling friends and relatives on their cell phones, encouraging them to hurry down and collect the leaking fuel, and these people were observed smoking cigarettes. You can imagine the rest!

At 6:00 AM (the approximate time of the explosion), Mars in Gemini was exactly rising (squared by Jupiter: avarice?), among other near-angular factors of interest.

Overall, the charts are quite excellent. For the final day it only shows the "chaos in the streets" of an angular Neptune, which is similar to other similar events.

June 27, 2017, hour unknown (use 5 PM), Caracas, Venezuela

A helicopter attacked Venezuela's Supreme Court building with grenades and gunfire. Things have been tense in Venezuela lately, where the people are suffering much hardship, and the beleaguered president claimed this was an attempted coup. It was a police helicopter, and some reports say it was police executing the attack; other reports suggest otherwise. No one died.

Finding a time has been difficult. The purported pilot released a threatening video in the afternoon (time unknown), and the attack was "hours later." Sunset was a little after 6 PM, and it seems this was during daylight, so I'll estimate 5:00 PM.

I'm not very impressed with the charts, though I suppose they are fine for a no-deaths event that seems more drama and splash than attack. One particular disappointed in them with respect to showing the ongoing, long-term severe problems in Venezuela.

Germany's lawmakers voted by a large margin to allow same-sex couples to marry and adopt children, after Merkel recently dropped her long-standing opposition to the idea. It isn't law yet, but it's on its way.

Berlin's Capsolar has recurring Pluto angularities which, this year, is joined by Sun-Jupiter-Uranus. The Arisolar's Sun-Uranus conjunction is also angular (in fact, it's on Descendant). The Caplunar, though dormant, has Uranus in the same place for three main charts in a row. Ditto for this week's Canlunar, except that it is not dormant, having Venus on WP and the Moon-Uranus square positioned so that Uranus is setting (in both solar and both lunar ingresses relevant to the date).

Interestingly, the vote came under what usually would be contentious circumstances - the Mercury-Mars conjunction square CapQ Ascendant. The same angle caught Capsolar Pluto, though, and I guess Mercury-Mars was merely outspoken.

AP is now saying Dr. Henry bello killed at least 1 person inside the hospital before killing himself. Gunfire started at 2:50 PM per AP.

New York Daily News says about 2:45 PM, that he shot two, and that he killed one.

LATER: After shooting his victims, he set himself on fire and ran down the hall, setting stations ablaze, before shooting himself in the head.

The Caplunar was atypical and probably not directly relevant. Venus was exactly at MC with Moon square Uranus. Venus also culminates (again with Moon square Uranus) in the Canlunar.

The CapQ pined the day, though: CapQ Ascendant squares ingress Mars. Meanwhile, Uranus is in long =term conjunction with New York's Capsolar MC. The CanQ brings the Cansolar's Saturn-Neptune square to the angles. Transiting Saturn was 10' from square Cansolar Ascendant. Altogether, daily indicators were quite vivid.

2:30 AM local time, Saturday June 17, 2017, 12 miles off the Izu Pennsula and 56 from Yokosuku, Japan, a US Navy destroyer and a commercial container ship collided. The destroyer was partially crippled, four sailors including the Commander were airlifted to hospital by the Japanese coast guard, and 7 sailors are missing.

The collision occurred with Pluto just past MC and Uranus just past Ascendant. They were in an nearly exact mundane square. The ingresses are moderately disappointing, primarily because the day itself doesn't wrap up neatly. (It is adequate, but not narrow.) Also, there isn't the usual travel marker of a ship moving exactly under a Mars line and suddenly having a collision or accident. But the most recent non-dormant solar and lunar ingresses to describe the event - especially the lunar! The Arisolar is Neptune-driven, and the Canlunar (still persisting more than half a month later) places the foreseen Mars-Saturn opposition right along the meridian.
