Go to Houston for the day and get the Venus.

Hang in there. These aspects also draw on your strong system devotion and duty, which will get you through a lot of fronts immediately ahead of you. Glad the girls are doing well.

In one sense, all this lunar return does is confirm that you are juggling a lot of balls. You already know that. And by the comparison of the locations, you have something to gain from going to Houston for the day.

Getting the Venus in my SLR was a good call. It’s helped my response to very stressful situations be more amiable.

Dad went into the hospital, then the nursing home for rehab. Then we tried to bring him home, but that was impossible. So he’s back in the nursing home.

I have packed up dressers full of clothes and moved those dressers and beds into storage. There was so much to do to get a hospital bed at the house. Then he only stayed there one night before Mom and I realized that we really couldn’t do it on our own. So after all that, he went right back to the nursing home.

I have to contact some people today to try to get some help paying for it.

Tons of activity and stress about financial survival, as predicted.

Ah, and on Monday, April 15th, I came down with shingles. It was caught quickly, and I didn’t suffer much, but it was there in the background with occasional shooting head pains.

Ack! That could have been really bad. (And it seems related to the Venus-Saturn, especially if there were cosmetic matters.) I'm glad it was a light case. (My sister-in-law had it really bad a few weeks ago.)

Hang in there. You knew it would be tough. It sounds like you're doing a good job and know how to be on top of this. "To do" lists do wonders :)

Glad your feeling better Lance. I had a bad outbreak a few weeks ago. I've noticed in my own personal relationship with the virus that it tries a few times, that I can be prone to a flare-up again if I do not heed the body's cues to rest, destress, and refocus myself into alignment with my core self.....if that makes sense. for me I've noticed I have the tendency to break out under conditions in which I had neglected or ignored personal boundaries (like conscientiously hand washing after being in contact with ill children at work, not neglecting that act because I feel the need to cut corners and go faster and proper hand washing is time consuming.) The outbreaks really suck, it's a nasty virus-seemingly different in each person, yet some very sneaky similarities like pretending dormancy under pressure. I truly hope yours is a 9nce in a rare rare rarest blue moon event. Please take care.

Hearing others' stories, I'm 100% glad I got the vaccine ("the shingles shots"). The two-shot version is much more powerful, and most people find that the second shot hits them harder than any other vaccine they've ever had (this was true for Marion and me), and it's still totally worth it IMO.

I’ve had it once before. It was the other side of my head/face that time. That was years ago. It was worse last time, but neither time was as bad as I have heard that it can get. I had headaches and had to wear sunglasses all the time last time.

This time I caught it faster. It tried to give me some headaches with sort of shooting nerve pains, But I got put on the medication really quickly and the pain was, thankfully, easily handled with regular-sized doses of Advil.

Both times, however, I went to the doctor thinking I had a spider bite.

Both times, the doctor said, “Actually I think that’s shingles. Have you been under any stress lately?”

Both times, I laughed loudly.

Well, for posterity’s sake..

My father passed away last night.

5/15/24
8:07pm
Beaumont, TX.

I see Saturn partile his MC. I see tUranus partile his rJupiter and rSaturn.

Sweet release. Blessed boon.

His funeral is two days before tSaturn precisely opposes my rVenus.

He was a good man and an excellent father - a deeply spiritual Pisces, devoted to his God and family. He was also an excellent crafter of wooden duck decoys and toy swords. Rest, Dad.

Lance, my sympathy and condolences... However sweet the release, this will land hard when you aren't looking, I hope the girls are OK.

Transiting Neptune 0°02' from your Moon... I'm sure you're feeling many things. (And yes, Saturn is in orb of opposition to your Venus.)

This isn't the SLR you went to Houston for, right? For Beaumont, nata; Neptune almost exactly angular and a smidge of Saturn.

Jim,

Thank you.

No, I went to Houston for the previous SLR.

My next one looks crappy too.

Why does it have to hit me all delayed like that? I figure I’m on schedule with some denial at the moment. The lack of his presence will be felt before too long, I guess.

Mars is about to hit your Mars. No matter how good he was, anger is natural.

It's also natural to hold everything together while you're busy holding everything together, and at least until after the funeral. Saturn is probably crossing the finish line just about on time.

It's a process. I'm not sure if the same thing applies to parents as to relationships, but the general estimate (which doesn't seem too far off track) is that it takes as many months to work through the feelings of an ended relationship as the number of years it lasted. (That seems to long with parent relationships. A year or two seems more on track, though of course everyone is different.)

My deepest sympathies and condolences to you Lance, and to your family.
My mom died in 1996 and I still grieve for her and that loss. Every single day at work I hear the children tell me they miss their mom and dad and all I can honestly say is, I understand I miss my mommy too, that's a normal human feeling when we are not with someone we love and who loves us too.

Please let us know if we can do anything for you, or if you'd like to talk about him or anything. I have a wooden sword myself ya know, bought it at a Ren Faire and sometimes I still take it out and swing it around and pretend I'm a pirate looking for a damsel in distress to save. I have a real sword, but there is something I like more about the pinewood that seems to speak to a deeper part of me. and dont get me started about my duck collection.

sending love❤

Jim Eshelman wrote: Sat Jan 27, 2024 8:59 am Plan now for where you will have your next birthday. Your next SSR has a nearly partile Moon-Saturn square. I advice picking strong benefics as precisely angular as possible.

The longitude shared by New Orleans and Memphis has transiting Venus on MC. They both have all the Moon aspects - Moon to natal Venus being closer mundo Moon-Saturn - and mostly focus on foreground Venus to natal Neptune. That makes New Orleans very surrealistic and Memphis very heartfelt (layering in the other aspects). There might be other places. Providence, RI puts transiting Jupiter exactly on an angle instead of Venus, but also has Saturn rising with all of its aspects in the immediate spotlight, so I think the Venus line is definitely advantageous. We can't use natal benefics because of the transits they will be receiving (unless we can find a place with natal Jupiter narrowly angular and everything else fallen away somehow - but that's hard for that part of the zodiac, and it doesn't look like they're close to angles in the U.S.).

In any case, as an investment in your well-being, make sure you have a GREAT location for your next SSR and fuel yourself by making sure it's somewhere fabulous and fun.
What about Austin for my SSR 2024? It puts Uranus on the angle? I have a friend there begging me to come. I have to ask.

No natal planets foreground. The rest is:

t Uranus +0°07'
t Mercury Z +0°07'
t Pluto Asc +6°06'

t Moon-Saturn sq 1°12'
t Moon-Moon sq 1°35' M
t Moon-Neptune sq 2°02' M

Going by the angular planets, there is nothing wrong with the angles at all. In fact, they seem downright interesting and fun.

It's the Moon aspects that have worried me all along. These are emotionally brutal, especially with things you're juggling and your history with similar energies. That's why I was trying to place you as precisely on a Venus or Jupiter line (without malefic angularities) as possible - just to counterweight the strong Moon-Moon-Saturn-Neptune.

I’m wondering about my girls going back to live with their mother after she stabilizes. I can’t remember what I’ve told you, but she is doing much better.

But that would be both depression and freedom, when I give them back.

I’m also worried about mom’s health, but she’s actually doing better than she was. I haven’t looked at her chart lately.

Anyway, there’s an old friend who’s begging me to come see her in Austin for my B-day, and there’s a concert I want to go to see there too. If I knew nothing about astrology, that’s absolutely where I would be. The pull feels strong and fateful. But I want to be very open to hearing the incredibly experienced astrologer.

You know?

If you're up to a year if Moon-Moon, Moon-Saturn, and Moon-Neptune...the rest is pretty exciting.

Personally, I would work to alleviate that with some very strong Jupiter or Venus. YMMV.

Just FYI, I did a reading for how each city would affect the year too. Austin gave The High Priestess, which I read as “alternation, cyclicity” and associated with bipolar. New Orleans gave Temperance, which is on the nose.

Since everything agrees, I’ll be going to New Orleans as long as I can get the girls squared away.

I’m having to wrap my head around it and imagine how I can have a fun trip to New Orleans by myself for my birthday.

My friend in Austin is very understanding, at least. I have read her charts for her long enough for her to take it seriously when I tell her, “Jim used the words ‘emotionally brutal.’”

I can't believe the French Quarter has changed so much that there isn't friendly companionship to be found.

You could invite her to come to New Orleans with you, of course.

New Orleans
r Neptune MC -1°17'
------------------------
t Venus MC +0°39'

t Moon sq r Venus 0°56' M
t Moon-Saturn sq 1°12'

t Venus co r Neptune 0°42'

Despite some similarities, the tone is entirely different between this chart and the Austin chart.
