Thank You....As well, I can't find it in your book, sorry have not looked hard, I have been busy just gotten out of the hospital, but trines and sextiles from the luminaries to the other planets count too.....right?

The Sun (perhaps ironically) is almost a non-factor in solar returns. This is because - in most situations - there is no "SSR Sun" worth considering. It's the natal Sun.
The exception is in what (in the book) I referred to as the "first reading" - reading the SSR as a stand-alone chart, almost like a temporary new natal, without consideration of the actual natal planets. (Even there, you are primarily interested in partile aspects.)
Once you add the natal planets to an inner circle, there is (effectively) no SSR Sun, only a natal Sun.

On the "first reading" I would count
partile trines and sextiles. Once you add the natals to an inner ring, forget the static aspects altogether.
As a review, here is the section from another thread which summarizes Sun aspects in the SSR (as a mostly "last step"):
6.Interpret aspects of the Sun to SSR planets.
A.Remember that this is identical to natal Sun.
B.If foreground, give full priority to its aspects.
C.If middleground, only consider its indices if the rest of the chart concurs.
D.If background, forget it altogether.
E.Partile aspects, however, are an exception, and always potent.

I was just worried about the Solar Return moon for 2012, It's partile opposite Mars, trine pluto, and Mercury, I wanted the Sun to create some sort of bright spot with Jupiter being 1 degree and 48' square away from the sun, but Venus is on the Asc........sadly though Venus is being attacked by a mundane square from Saturn.
Now, What I am wondering about is health issues, since the solar luminaries have been shown to be a good diagnostic of health, I read over your book, and that part, but how accurate does it seem to be. My 2012 SSR will be in Aries, and I have a brain tumor so obviously head, brain, face.......ect......... Obviously, Mars, can be very nasty...
As well, the sun rarely makes a prominent appearance (just about once) conjunct the vertex.....Should I be concerned. I know I could possibly move, but if I do stay here.......it just seems to be a bad omen No vitality...it's been a while
