Since you are treating this interesting case as a mundane event, I'm moving it to the mundane events section. - Is this the time of the first incident, btw?
As you point out, the Capsolar from 2-3 weeks earlier is fascinating, with a
0°01' Mercury-Pluto mundane square on the angles. "Weird stories" is as concise a phrasing as I can muster: You've given a more extended summary.
The Caplunar isn't particularly descriptive. Sun is exactly rising, and we get a little Moon, a little Venus, a little Uranus, and a whisper of Jupiter. The Sun-Jupiter square is probably its most pronounced feature.
The Canlunar immediately before the date you gave is fascinating, drawing together several intimations from earlier charts in the series.
Moon-Mercury op. (0°18')
Jupiter (IC 1°31')
Venus (Dsc 1°58')
-- Ve/Ju on angles (0°13')
Sun (Dsc 2°01')
-- Su/Ve=Dsc (0°02')
-- Sun-Jupiter sq. (0°29'
mundo)
Uranus (Asc 2°18')
-- Su/Ur on horizon (0°08')
-- Ju/Ur on angles (0°24')
-- Venus-Uranus op. (0°20')
Mercury (WP 1°50')
Neptune (IC 5°17')
At the date and time you give (the start?), t. Mars was 0°54' past conjunction with Capsolar Descendant, and 0°20' shy of exact conjunction with Capsolar Mercury. Genuine poltergeist phenomena are nearly always "leaking" Kundalini-type energies, especially when these energies are newly awakening, powerful, and unfamiliar / undisciplined, such as from children at puberty or people who are at certain intermediate stages of intense spiritual disciplines. The Canlunar is consistent with some of this, but not sharply. I take this transit of Mars to Mercury and its angle, though, as a sudden, powerful release of
mental energy connected to the events.
The CanQ is a little strange I'm inclined not to take it too seriously. Q Asc was square ingress Saturn. Of much greater interest to me, given the earlier showing of Jupiter (especially through recurring Sun-Jupiter aspects) is that the CanQ has a
progressed Moon-Jupiter opposition exact to the minute (0°00').
What could this Jupiter be? I'm guessing, but maybe someone has more information and can confirm or deny. I'm wondering about the family's religious practices and intensity. On the one hand, intense, concentrated devotional practices can trigger the sort of energies that manifest these phenomena. On the other hand, religious-fed repression can concentrate emerging sexual energies and have them "leak" around the edges in metaphysical expressions.
I think this is the pivotal aspect. especially since the phenomena ended after about a month - just the time it would take this Moon-Jupiter progression to move out of orb. In other cultures, these events simply would have been called miracles, and addressed with religious devotion, the location marked as a shrine. If Seaford, NY in the 1950s wasn't inclined to do this, it doesn't change the underlying characteristic of the energies or the event (though it does strongly color people's psychological orientation to it).
