These are for the shooting or for what's going on now? - I'm skeptical that this is a big enough event to show, other than as a primarily local event; but the shooting SHOULD show as a local event at the very least, I would think.

If you mean the trial, this sort of stuff (that drags on over time) tends not to show as an "event." E.g., the Michael Jackson trial (which is at least as big for the LA area as the Zimmerman trial is for Florida) is not a feature of ongoing event charts.

Or if you mean the original event, could you give the date and place etc.?

Yeah, I don't think the trial is likely to generate much attention on the mundane charts. It's an ongoing thing, "business as usual" for the moment - as far as the universe is concerned, i.e., not a new event.

But let's look back...

Trayvon Martin was shot by George Zimmerman on the night of February 25, 2012, in Sanford, FL. This led to a great deal of commotion almost at once. The Sun was in Aquarius and the Moon at the end of Pisces.

The Capsolar resembled the ingress for the whole East Coast. As with most of the East Coast, Pluto was on the Midheaven (1°06' in mundo). Similarly, the Moon (though looking farther away in eclipto) was 0°23' below the Descendant in mundo. The means that there was a 1°29' Moon-Pluto mundane square right on the angles.

This singles the Florida area out from much of the rest of the East Coast. I have generally found that the Moon is foreground in tragedy charts where children are involved - the kind of event that causes one's "heart to go out to them" in a big way. For example, the Moon was on the angles of ingress charts for the following: the New London School fire (CapQ), the 2011 Oslo attacks which included shooting up a kids' summer camp (Capsolar), and the Sandy Hook shooting for Newtown (Capsolar) and Washington (Liblunar). In fact, the Oslo Capsolar and Sandy Hook Liblunar had Moon-Pluto on the angles.

The February 18 Caplunar was not a strong chart. It had Mars and Uranus foreground, but not very close to the angles.

The shooting occurred a very short time before the Arilunar set in at 11:14 PM. (I don't have a time for the shooting other than "late in the evening," so I'm assuming it was in advance of the Arilunar). We would expect this to show the immediate effect on the community beginning the next morning but, in fact, the chart has nothing of note.

It's not until the March 4 Canlunar that the charts start showing the event from a local emotional point of view. While there was initial shock reaction,my recollection is that the overall attention to the event took a while to warm up. By March 4, the new lunar ingress showed the highly characteristic Venus-Saturn opposition across the horizon, with Saturn the closest planet to the angle. Saturn was 0°32' above the Descendant, Venus was 2°30' above the Ascendant, and they were 3°02' from exact mundane opposition. (There were other details, but this was the main feature.) -- Venus-Saturn aspects angular in ingresses are a chief factor for love+loss sort of deep grieving, and they are especially common for major fires plus events like the Oslo shootings (Caplunar) and Princess Diana's funeral (Liblunar). I think this chart shows the emotional reaction setting in.

The 911 call recorded the shot at 7:16:55. This was Feb 26, so EST. Trayvon's father reported him missing at 8:40 the following morning. I don't know when the body was identified and the parents notified.

There are two different standards for the timing of course, especially in relation to the Moon's Aries ingress. One event - the one for the boy - is the time of death. The other - the time that would show up for mundane astrology purposes - would be when the news started spreading through the city and people started reacting to it. It seems he was killed with the Moon in Pisces, and the news spread after the Moon entered Aries.
