Taurus & politics

Every sign has "a little bit of everything." For example, while some signs may be more prone to music, cooking, or sports, every sign will have examples of these things and it's more a matter of discerning what kind of composer, performer, chef, or athlete one is, more than whether one is.

With this in mind, I'm currently musing over Taurus Sun and politics. As a rule, Taurus is apolitical, or at least reluctantly political. There will, of course, be exceptions based on other chart factors. Mostly, though, these are service-minded people that don't tend to flourish in politics or political situations.

Confirming this, we find Taurus Sun statistically uncommon for 43 U.S. presidents (only two presidents, which is second lowest), as for 4,985 congressmen, and 4,651 community volunteer leaders; yet statistically common for 5,013 nonpolitical federal employees.

Personally, I think they are too candid, and much more likely to be passionate about issues than process or office. Taurus can be very impassioned about issues - I note they are uncommon for community volunteer leaders, but I'd be surprised if they were uncommon for community volunteers and informal activists. Politics doesn't let them avoid lying (Taurus is willing to skirt the truth to avoid difficult situations, but really prefers to be earnest, sincere, candid, forthright.) I also think they'd rather focus on actual issues, and political campaigning doesn't really allow that.

With all of this, I thought it worthwhile to identify some political Tauruses. I'll list them here, for general interest and to see if anyone has ideas on what their styles, natures, etc. have in common. As time allows, I may dig through their individual charts, and see if I can see anything in particular they have in common. (It might make an interesting small study of distinctly political chart factors - noting commonalities of political charts for a non-political temperament.)

Here's the list I pulled:

Pres. John F. Kennedy
Pres. George H.W. Bush
Sen. John Edwards
Sen. Marco Rubio
Sec. Henry Kissinger
Mayor Rudy Giuliani
Councilman Harvey Milk
Donald Trump (candidate)

For a start, did the only two U.S. Presidents with Sun in Taurus have anything in common besides both being born in Massachusetts and having unusual destinies regarding Dallas? [NOTE: This was from 2014 before a third Taurus was elected.]

No angular planets in common.
Very different Moon-signs (Leo vs. Virgo)'

Close aspects in common: Moon-Venus (hard)

That's really about it! The Moon-Venus aspect.
