- Angularity is like Aries--the fire of the chart, and the place to start. Power.
- Aspects are like Libra--the Air of the chart. Connection.
- Constellations are like Cancer--the Water of the chart. Coloration.
- Houses are like Capricorn-- the Earth of the chart. Location.
Interesting parallels between elements of similar polarity and contrasts between elements of opposite polarity.
- It is perfectly possible to read a horoscope using only the positive elements above: this is the usual procedure for many types of charts. While reading with just the negative elements is not possible, at least if you insist on valid, useful information instead of BS.
- Signs and houses are twelve-fold symmetric divisions of the ecliptic and the prime vertical (in the case of Campanus). This produces discreet divisions of constant strength--for example Sun at 29 Aries is as much Aries as Sun at 15 Aries, there is no rising and falling.
- Angularity and Aspects (here considering only classic Ptolemaic aspects and disregarding East Point, Zenith, etc.) are eight-fold asymmetric division of the prime vertical and the ecliptic where rising and falling are essential to what they do--and the rising and falling are in approximate (co)sine curves.
