Madrid train bombings 2004

In the deadliest terrorist attack in Spain's history, commuter trains were bombed (10 bombs in backpacks & gym bags on four trains), killing 191 people and injuring over 1,800 more (one source says 2,050). Al Qaeda affiliates were credited with the coordinated attack.

The bombings were time-coordinated so that all that exploded went off between 7:37 and 7:40 AM. The date picked was three days before Spain's general elections. The March 11 event acquired the popular title "11-M," comparable to our "9/11" exactly 2.5 years earlier.

The explosions triggered at sunrise, with Sun exactly rising in near-partile square to Pluto on the Zenith. Mercury and Uranus were also rising, on either side of Sun, and Jupiter setting
