January 15. 1931, 1:50 UT, 16.1N, 96.8W (January 14, 7:50 PM CST)

Magnitude 8.0. There were 114 deaths, and the city of Oaxaca was left in ruins (70% of its buildings either destroyed or badly damaged).

Oaxaca is 17N03, 96W43, essentially the longitude of the epicenter but a degree different in latitude. Given the focalization of the damage, I'm going to use it for the study.

The Sun at the time of the quake was 0°11' Capricorn. Mars was exactly angular. The Capsolar is four hours old.
