Angular unaspected Sun and he did indeed live a life of stardom.
His tightest aspects areJup-Sat, Moon-Mars, Moon-Venus, Moon-Pluto and then Nep-Ur.
Widest is Mercury opposing that Jup-Sat.

I saw that Jim has stated somewhere in the forum that he has a foreground Mercury, but his chart shows me Mercury almost 19° from Dsc.

In his case I think his tropical chart is a much better sign fit with luminaries, Libra Sun and Aqua Moon; he was all about peace, the world without borders, freedom and equality. I recently saw a very good jyotish video somewhere about how both sidereal and tropical signs actually fit with the clockwork of the universe as in tropical being the closeup of Earth in relation to the tropics of Cancer&Capricorn, always moving the same way so therefore always fixed at the same point - and then in the bigger scheme of the Universe as in the backdrop of the sidereal constellations. Very interesting as I have found in so many many cases that both tropical and sidereal sign description can fit ... but I need to emphasize that I don't really want to discuss that - I kinda just dropped all signs in favour of just reading the planets by themselves and their aspects to each other as a standalone interpretation, regardless of signs. I find that very helpful indeed.

Mercury is less than 3 degrees above descendent. Sun is setting partile. Mars in Neptune are within 5 degrees of descendent, closely conjunct mundanely. Jupiter and Saturn are just under 10 degrees below Ascendant.

As for the signs, I so see him as virgo and capricorn. It's one of my favourite examples. On the virgo for example he was, in The Beatles, "the smart one." Ever the scholarum ungdom, the working class hero, the voice of common humanity. That's pure virgo through and through. And capricorn, of course, for the bad boy radical.

Stars don't progress. Only the Earth, in both its path around the Sun and its rotation through the day can do that. Progressions are "a year is a day." That's all about the Sun. The chart begins at birth. When we die, we leave the path of the Sun, and the progression of that chart must end as well.

In recent years, I've come to the conclusion that the horoscope terminates with death - it belongs to the body - so, no, current patterns likely do not show what he's up to. For the longest time, I thought that the post-mortem horoscope at least continues to show things that pertain to this world, e.g., recurring interest in one's work, different kinds of good and bad renewed interest, etc.; but, having watched this periodically, I can't find that sort of astrological indicator showing.

Yeah, I do not see him as a Virgo. But it is ok that we disagree I don't mind. He did sing about working class hero as a political critisism, but he certainly wasn't one himself - far from it. He was a worldwide star, a widely loved artist that shook up the world at the time and is still remembered and loved.

No, but that was his image, his "brand." Not as much as fellow Virgo Springsteen, of course.

There are fine examples in every sign that this fits, and certainly including Virgos. (His "shook, the world" comes from the radical planet strength in his chart - what he did, rather than who he was. Look to his Moon-Pluto opposition, his "compel other's hypnotized fixation" Mars-Neptune, and that Jupiter-Saturn conjunction that appears in the charts of nearly every messiah of history.)
