Starting this thread to pass to others about my life refection’s with my Sidereal Astrology main angular signature for my Natal Chart, Jupiter-North Node. It is NOT my intention to do this in a boastful Jupiter manner with my meager good fortune in life, only to pass-on to others when they see Jupiter-Node appear in their Solunars/Progressions—to really pay attention to any new ‘contacts’ which enter your life sphere. They will become fortunately important in your life. My Natal Chart below with Jupiter-Nodes on my Horizon (Asc-Dsc axis). to be continued.

Very lucky indeed Steve, but when I'm reminded of luck, I remember there's no such thing. I am sure your Jupiter/node aspect is a direct reflection of always being prepared for any fiscal opportunity and for having a mental disposition that is attracted/attractive to these encounters.

Jupiter-Node stories in my lifetime:

I was born with my parents living in a house bordering the property of a Drive-Inn-Theater. As a baby, my first Big Jupiter experience was images on the BIG (Jupiter) theater screen, which could be seen from the front porch. My Mother who was a part-time concession employee for the Theater always told me as a growing baby, the main thing that put a smile on my face was theses movie images. She said I had absolutely no fun with material toys, I got spoiled by the BIG Theater Screen Images as my main baby toy. My Mother told me my second most fascination as a baby was watching popcorn spill-out over the top of the kettle. As I grew older as a baby and could hold things in my hands, one evening before opening the box-office, she allowed me to pour the corn kernels into the kettle cooker, and said my mind was blown when I realized the actual corn kernels turned into actual popcorn. As a baby everything was so magical being brought-up in a Drive-Inn environment.

Ebertin says about the ‘Principle’ for Jupiter-North Node:

Good relationships and connections, an agreeable or pleasant contact, fortunate connections.

So, my first Jup-Node life ‘contact’ was being born with parents who lived next to a Drive-Inn Theater, introducing me to the happy magical effects of the movie business. It wasn’t about Jupiter material things or money; my parents were relatively poor. I really never looked at all my career services in the Theater business as a means of making money, but as a means of being happy. Yes, you could say I was born into a very lucky ‘happy’ Jupiter environment, which started as an infant with a mother working in the Theater business.

Mother told me I soon figured out the actual Movie on the BIG (Jup)) Screen was coming from a beam of light ‘focused’ out of a small hole in a small building (Projection Booth) on top of the Concession building. I have always laugh to myself; because, when I got into astrology I related it to a movie, realizing our lives are directed by beams of planetary/star light ‘focused’ by precise astronomical laws. It was not until I started studying Sidereal Astrology, did I begin to understand the importance of these precise astronomical laws for true understanding, and Mr. James A. Eshelman has been instrumental in my astrological life allowing me to see/understand these precise astronomical laws which play a huge importance governing our life experiences. Before a true astrological passion can develop with astrology, the astrologer must come to an understanding of the precise astronomical laws governing our lives with the beams of light from the planets/stars. Jim Eshelman is truly one of my life’s angular Jupiter-Node ‘Contacts.’ Sidereal Solar Returns writes certain Chapters of our life, and Sidereal Lunar Returns writes certain incidents in our life. Primary Progressed Angles when active with planetary configurations writes bigger Parts of our life.

A mior tjhing I'd not connected, Steve, but an interesting coincidence: You and I were born approximately the same MINUTE of geographic longitude. I'd never noticed it until now.

Rochester, Indiana (which means the Rochester post office) is listed as 86W12'57". Albertville, Alabama is listed as 86W12'32". (Of course, the latitude is different, 41N04 vs. 34N16, though, in another coincidence, I live at 34N04.)

I have no idea whether this means anything, and I suspect it means nothing, but thought I'd mention it.

Yes, Jup on Nodes seem to not be about money at all, but rather about fortunate human connections.
The Vedic astrology says that the Nodes, or Rahu and Ketu as they call them, are very connected to being an "outsider" when it falls into the 1st house, but also someone who is very interested in astrology and most probably will meet a "Guru" to teach them since Jup is also symbolic of a teacher.

Yes Arena, an excellent point!!! Robert Hand wrote about Jup being highly symbolic of some type “Guru” Principle. Jim/Fagan/Bradley are 'Guru' principles in my astrological life. I will later post another very important example in my life where my angular Jup-Node connected me-up with a very important “Guru” figure in my life who taught me economic/financial things that are certainly not taught in Universities. He verbally taught me certain things to execute in my life in a timely fashion, realizing I would never be able to retire comfortably in a simple way-- if I did not execute certain things in my life. He literally saved my life with proper understanding and it certainly did not involve making a-lot money, at least for myself/wife.

Mother told me the first word I spoke as a baby—was “Mickey.” Why Mickey? Because I watched the Mickey Mouse cartoons every night before I was put to bed, and my Mother would say— ‘look-- its Mickey.’ Mickey filled my baby psyche with joy, happiness, laughter---some key words for Jupiter. So, you see, one of my earliest Node ‘contacts’ was Mickey Mouse. In a sense, I was taught-trained to laugh at a very young age, almost to the point it was a form of brain-washing. Any strong angular Natal Signature should first be analyzed if possible as: What environmental conditions was the infant subjected?

When I learned to walk, I noticed “Mickey” was coming out of a port hole from something called the projection booth. When I was introduced to the projection booth, the projectionist cut one film frame out of the spool of film containing a Mickey Mouse cartoon and held it up to a flashlight, so I could see the same Mickey I saw every night on the Big Screen. Then the projectionist allowed me to watch him splice the spool of Mickey Mouse film on the main featured film, which came out of two big cans with 4-6 reels of film. Then the projectionist allowed me to watch him thread the film through many ‘gates’ in the film projector, but my biggest thrill was turning on the projector, firing carbon arc rod which filled the belly of the projector with a very bright light reflected onto the big screen by a large reflector mirror. As a child, I was absolutely awe struck and developed a burning passion to know all the details (Virgo) about the magical world of Movie business. I understand the Virgo details of the Movie business like Jim understands the Virgo details of Sidereal Astrology. We Virgo’s immerse our minds into details which outside of a Virgo mind—not many others see/understand. There was not any important detail in the Movie business that I did not understand by the age 30, my first Saturn Return.

The manager of the Drive-Inn told the executive office of a very small company that he had an employee that could set-up the projection booth and concession stand at 9 years of age. But you had to be 16 years old to become an employee in the projection booth. The first money I ever earned was 6 years old cleaning-up the parking lot of the Drive-Inn, I was paid with a Silver Liberty half-dollar when I cleaned the parking lot. The very first thing I bought as a kid was a miniature Movie Projector with a manual that explained with pictures (charts) all the details involved in projecting a Movie onto the Big Screen for the public. If you ever run into a tight angular/aspected Jup-Node Signature with a Sidereal Solar Return or Lunar Return, chances are you will run into something or person(s) that may become very important in sustaining your life in a Jupiter manner. Anyway, you get the picture, how I was born into a Jup-Node World. I was offered an executive office with a small Theater Company when I graduated High School, something that was unheard of in the small rural town I was born. My father made me go to a small college and before I got into chasing women, I spent every spare moment hanging-out in Theaters. It’s kinda similar to Jim writing astrological articles when he was in high school, and moved to LA becoming closer to the Sidereal Astrology movement. I was born a natural for the Movie business—Jim was born a natural for Sidereal Astrology. We understand details of our inner born passions that other people in the same profession will find difficult to understand. There have been many times in my life I have worked for nothing just to be around the Movie business I dearly love, and I am sure Jim has/is putting out Sidereal Astrology work, which he loves, for no/little compensation. Next post, the Jup-Node economic/financial ‘Guru’ who came into my life, which literally shocked me into a new reality pertaining to my future in the Theater Business.

What I am going to attempt to explain as the greatest Jup-Node ‘contact’ in my entire life occurred in 1976, without me realizing what was actually happening (knew absolutely nothing about astrology at this time). The link below will help explain some of my written words in this post and following posts. If it was not for this 1976 Jup-Node contact with explicit instructions and teaching, I would have faced complete financial/career ruin, which would not have allowed me to escape the economic traps created by our political governing systems—both political parties! This contact was an Admiral in Navy World War 11. He sat in on the Bretton Woods agreements among foreign Countries, responsible for financially restructuring financial systems after the end of World War 11. The Admiral was a very wise old man in his 80’s and I was very lucky to come under his teaching wings, and what he taught me still applies today and the future, and never will be taught truthfully in our Universities.

My first position as an executive was contracting and booking Movies for a small Theater Company that did not have enough Screens to book all the Movies released by the film companies. I started my first executive position in 1971, and there was a phenomenal impulse of original Movies released in the 70’s. The stockholders of this small company though I was some kind of wizard contracting Movies, but what they did not understand, picking high grossing movies in the 70’s was very easy for me. I was very in tune with my generation of movie goers, but all the stockholders were from an older generation and could not choose a high grossing movie if their life depended on it. The Admiral thoroughly understood my unique position with the stockholders of the company, and knew I only owned 1% of the Company’s Stock. The only reason I owned 1% of the Stock, is the fact the stockholders had to give me 1% in order for me to join and sit-in with board (stockholder) meetings. The Admiral explained to me how the stockholders were ‘using’ me, where I was actually the one running the company, but you must understand—none of this corporate structure interested me. The only thing that I really knew and understood—was the fact I was ‘inside’ the corporate structure running a business I absolutely loved—the Movie/Theater Business—I was having a-lot of Jupiter-Node fun with me being hooked-up with the Movie Business beginning at Birth. Before I get in to the very interesting details of what Admiral taught me—read the link if you are interested. You need to attempt to understand this link in order to thoroughly understand why/how the Admiral made the stockholders (not me) of this small rural company a sizable fortune with a precise timely investment in gold & silver, relative to a small capital investment. This investment returned 10 times the invested capital in 3 & half years--it would have returned 30 times the capital investment if the stockholders did what the Admiral told me/them to do. It made me an absolute Hero in the eyes of the stockholders, but threaten the position of the President of the Company with me becoming a Hero with the stockholders. Depending on your position--success can become a very dangerous situation, and the Admiral forewarned me of this fact.

I can see that to strengthen that Jup, he is exalted in your navamsha chart, and so is Venus.
Movies and theatre also have a strong connection to Neptune and I can see your navamsha Sun is tightly aspected by trine to Neptune. Neptune in your natal chart is also very interestingly partile square your Vx and partile sextile your Moon.

I hear you Arena, but that tight Mercury (communications) Neptune Movies/Theaters cnj rings louder to me the influence Movies/Theaters has had on my life. But this thread is about angular Jup-Node and without a doubt, the Lunar Nodes in my chart certainly explains the deeper connections/relationships I have had in my life connected to Jup, which I think we all will understand better when I am finished with this thread.

When my angular Jup- Node ‘connected’ me with the Admiral, my life was changed in a BIG way involving a complete new perspective on determining the real value of things. He completely ripped out of me every economic thing I thought I understood. I never will forget when he was questioning me about all the details in my life, he asked me about my education, and I said Admiral, I never really learned much in school. I told him college was one big party to me chasing women, and rarely did I open any of my text books. He hesitated---and said great, I will be able to teach you something of true value . There are moments in my life when I think about the importance of the economic understanding Admiral brought to my life—it brings tears to my eyes. So much of what Admiral got me to understand was what was getting ready to happen to me and the company economically in the following years when Nixon closed the gold window. He was able to focus my attention to precisely how this was going to economically affect me and the company which employed my services. In other words, Admiral taught me things only relative to my 'station' in life which had brought me to my meeting with him.

How did my life bring me to meeting (Jup-Node) the Admiral? One day in a semi-annual board meeting of the stockholders, I was informed the stockholders wanted to pass a resolution for me taking charge of all decision making with the company’s pension fund and company’s investments outside the Movie business. The company’s pension and investment funds had been stagnant the last 5 years. I quickly said NO, I know absolutely nothing about this type of investing, only the Movie business! But the stockholders convinced me I should take this project on with their voting approval on any of my final investment decisions. They told me they had confidence in my analytical abilities with my proven record in the Movie/Theater business, and wanted to test the waters with my potential for determining financial investments with rapid growth potential. That afternoon, I called Jack the company’s investment Account Executive with Merrill Lynch. I told Jack—please don’t take what I say personally, but if you and I can’t come-up with a plan that is going to make the account 20% gains over the next 5 years, you are going to lose the account. He called back in a couple of days and said he had arranged a meeting with me and the Admiral. I asked him if the Admiral was one of his accounts, and he said no, but was an account with another account executive. The other account executive had told Jack the Admiral was a financial wizard. Jack told me he had his doubts the Admiral would help me and the company with our financial investments, but at least it was a start for a better plan for helping me achieve my objective with company investments.

The first day I met with Admiral he drilled me with detailed questions about my life, personal & business. He then told me he could not determine if he could help with my objectives until I supplied him with the past 10 years of CPA company profit-loss statements. He also said he wanted me to write out a paragraph for each stockholder of the company, supplying me with as much detailed info as possible. A couple of weeks later, after reviewing all info Admiral requested, he called me and said Mr. Steve—I believe I can help you personally and business wise. He told me to meet him at 9:00 AM every Wed for a couple of months at Merrill Lynch, we used one of their private public glass offices showing the big ticker tape for stock prices. I never could figure-out why Admiral bother with me and my employer with his time. After looking back at this time with Admiral in my life, I think he took me under his wings because he felt sorry for what he ‘knew’ was getting ready to happen economically to me and my employer in the coming years. Or, he was really bored in his advanced retired age. It could have simply been the case, the Admiral made the determination—I would be able to understand what he was going to teach me and act on it in a positive manner, I don’t really know for sure. I know this for sure, the company’s account executive was shocked to see Admiral spend so much time with me. But the truth of this matter is the astronomical fact I was born with a potent angular aspect with Jup-Node, which manifested with the Admiral!

The first meeting I had with the Admiral after he reviewed all requested material about the company, he told me: ‘Son, it appears to me for the last few years—you have been running the company for peanuts!’ I told him my salary was no big deal with me—my passion/love for the Movie/Theater Business was my true motivation. He said yes, he understood. He then told me he would give me a 4-year investment plan for company funds on our last meeting day, and then periodically commutate by phone. He told me this investment plan would return 10-40 times the invested capital, depending on the collected vote of the stockholders (remember, I only owned 1% of the stock in this small company.) The Admiral told me after 4 years the pension fund alone would be worth 10 times or more the net assets of the company. He then proceeded to tell me the company would probably go bankrupt and I would find myself on the streets without a career. But Admiral told me what to do if the company was placed in the bankrupt courts, explaining my complete knowledge of the Theater business may allow me to escape the economic hardships that was going to happen with a-lot of lower/middle class of Americans.

(Admiral understood there was no stockholder of the aging group of stockholders who knew how to run a successful Theater operation, (I was the only one who had this complete Theater knowledge). Admiral also knew the company had no means to get large investment capital to protect against the onslaught of larger Theater corporations, from a competitive market place. Believe me, Admiral knew he was grabbing my full attention for the coming weeks of his Wed teaching classes. Admiral told me the first thing I was to do when/if the company filed bankruptcy was to take my pension fund proceeds and purchase in full a roof over my head, because the so-called American Dream of owning a home without the slavery of a mortgage would come to an end for a-lot of Americans with what our government did in 1971 (Nixon shutting the gold window). Little did I realize at this time, Admiral fully understood the coming new economic era(s) created by our government in 1971 with shutting down the gold window. Admiral was not critical of our government shutting the gold window—he said the coming booming economic results of this 1971 decision would be very good for the big corporations—but not for my station in my life at this time with the company. Admiral knew that the small company I served would be put out of business by the much larger Theater corporations, and there was absolutely nothing I could do to prevent this because of the collected age of stockholders. Admiral investment advice untimely made all the stockholders a small fortune relative to their station in life—but left me with the threat of being separated from my passion/love—running a small Theater company. Where I thought my career life was set with this small company—Admiral got me to see/understand the real truth of my future economic life with this small company.

Anyway, everything Admiral taught me came true, but the Admiral had me fully prepared to know what to do and when to execute his most valuable economic lessons. Next I will post the 4-year investment plan Admiral laid on me and reactions from the stockholders.

And, before I understood the ‘Principles’ of Sidereal Astrology. I think the Admiral clearly understood i was very naive when it came to seeing/understanding the Big Picture pertaining to the economic world I was living in. When I first came to California, a Los Angeles businessman in the Sidereal community took a special interest, took me out to lunch once a week or so. We talked a great deal about all sorts of things, he asked me to look over his chart and those of other people he encountered. From those talks, beside the subtle thing that penetrated, I repeatedly heard and absorbed one pivotal bit of wisdom this sharp Jewish merchant based his life and approach on: "Jimmy," he'd say, " I'm not easy to fool. I can be fooled, but someone is either going to have to give me a really good song and dance to do it, or I'm going to walk away having learned something. And I'm willing to pay good money for entertainment and education!"

The only seeds that was planted in 'virgin' mind as a baby was the World of Movies. In a sense, the Admiral ripped a-lot of that 'Mickey Mouse' stuff out of my mind in a shocking manner, replacing it with something that put economic fear in my mind--not Mickey Mouse stuff . He got me to see/understand my coming economic plight, preparing me better for the future. I swear looking back on my life at age 70--so much of my life I relate to a pre-directed Movie when understanding the Principles of Sidereal Astrology.

Basically, Admiral educated me on the entire history of money, that gold & silver in the entire history of people has always been the true money-- storing true purchasing value for goods and services. Simple math proves this—one ounce of gold in 1971 cost $35—one ounce of gold today—$1,250. Admiral explained to me that what really made America Great was huge amounts of gold discovered when this country was discovered—it was America’s large amounts of gold reserved (largest in the world) that backed the true sovereignty of America’s $. He told me with Nixon shutting the gold window-- effetely would enslave our entire governmental systems (both parties) to the evils of a continuing devaluing fiat currency. But Admiral said the day had come where taking the backing of gold & silver away from the US currency—was a necessary evil. He told me certain segments of American’s were going to make quick fortunes, but most of the working class were going to encounter forced downsizing. He told me I would see the days when most husbands & wife’s (mates) would have to work full jobs-- struggling to make ends meet for any kind of family unit (more than one person). He explained this new 1971 fiat money system was going to create tremendous debts throughout society starting with our government. Admiral explained Debt was one of the worst evils on the planet from a pure psychological standpoint, proven by all of financial history. IMO, the day has arrived where our government has now lost control of spiraling debt, and probably will never be able to balance the budget by conventional means. I only wish the Admiral were alive today where I could ask further questions about the dire situations the government is facing— Admiral--the only one I would trust for a timely correct answer, certainly not our news media services today or educational systems.

But, the most valuable teaching lesson Admiral taught me was the psychological differences between forced downsizing to chosen downsizing. He taught me how to effetely choose downsizing re-adjusting my life style to become happy with the simple things that life offers. He told me the first thing I should do with my share of the company’s pension fund payment when the company either dissolved itself with closing or bankruptcy--- purchase in full--- any type of affordable housing where I felt comfortable. Admiral explained to me a paid for roof over my head was the single most valuable asset/commodity in life—for me to never lose sight of this economic reality from a pure psychological standpoint. Basically, Admiral was preparing me and wife—to be able to live happily on nothing but our social security checks, but this could better be achieved with full ownership of a House/Home. He told me if I was able to achieve any kind of savings account after a fully paid home—this was an added bonus. Admiral understood true economic values in life and ways to protect oneself from the evils of a fiat currency system, in order to achieve simple economic happiness in life. I only wish all working-class people in 1976 could have been taught the same teachings Admiral taught me, it would/could have prevented a-lot of economic hardships that were fast approaching after a total fiat monetary system was introduced in 1971 with the closing of the gold window. Admiral’s teachings were actually more about allowing the right kind of psychological adjustments needed to cope with the unseen evils of fiat monetary system.

When the company which employed beginning at 6 years of age filed for bankruptcy paying out everyone’s pension share—the first thing I did was purchase a $29,000 historical summer cottage (originally built in 1886) in a very rural area. My working pension was the only savings which existed in my life, I was fortunate to work with a company which provided a pension. In order to purchase this home in full, I could not pay the taxes owed to Uncle Sam from my pension fund payment—I needed enough money left to purchase the necessities of living. I played everything straight with Internal Revenue and they sent an internal revenue agent out to the house, and when the agent saw my poor rural living conditions , he said Mr. Steve—I am going to file your debt to the government as uncollectable . The government put a lien on my future earnings, which I settled interest & penalty free when I was able to put myself back in the movie business-- earning a living with enough savings to get Uncle Sam off my back.

I have great neighbors (few) who have taught me the art of growing small gardens which reduces my food costs. Also, they have taught me the art of efficiently burning the right kind of wood in a wood burning stove---greatly reducing my energy costs in the winter time. The man who originally built this Summer Cottage—built it with large trees location where I need no air conditioning—except between 7-11 at night (heat eventually collects). My main problem today is my age is starting to restrict my outdoor activity—causing more boredom. Don’t get me wrong—I am not saying my way of living is the best for everyone—only trying to show how my Jup-Node contact with the Admiral saved me a tremendous amount of psychological grief by choosing a very simple way of life which has allowed good Jupiter happiness in my life, without a-lot of money or material things. More later about the Admiral’s brilliant 4 year investment plan that actually made the stockholders a-lot of money based on their pension shares (explained later) and allowed me enough pension to purchase in full -a Home.

The Admiral brought me to a shockingly complete understanding the economic damage a fiat monetary system was going to place on many Americans. He told me gold would go-up in price 10-fold in the next 4 years, because of certain monetary policies coming on-line through the government officials/agencies. Admiral said there was going to be high inflation but with tremendous economic growth in the bigger corporate worlds. He told me to tell the stockholders to purchase gold bullion with all their investment funds. I asked him to come to the next stockholders meeting to explain why the company should invest all their funds in gold bullion. He said emphatically-- NO—he would be laughed out of the meeting. I really didn’t understand Why Admiral thought this about the stockholder meeting, but soon discovered things that shocked me about certain regulations with the government. After spending 10 Wednesday’s mornings with Admiral, these meeting came to an end and I told the stockholders I was convinced I knew a solid investment vehicle to increase the company funds significantly for the next 4 years. When I said the stockholders needed to approve by a vote to invest in gold bullion, the stockholders responded with a BIG WTF, laughing, and said NO way! I responded in an angered manner—and told them to remove my responsibility for analyzing ways for the company funds to grow, but you see, it really wasn’t about me analyzing—it was about my Jup-Node contact with the Admiral! The President of the Company then called for a vote to call in the Company’s CPA to see if this 4-year investment ‘bullion’ plan was legal with rules/regulation for private corporate pensions funds. The CPA quickly said—NO way-- the pension fund could ONLY purchase gold stocks. This further angered me since I wanted my share of the pension fund to grow at the % rate in the next 4 years, accordingly to what Admiral told me. I damn well knew I was going to need the most $ out of my pension to have any possibility for purchasing a home and re-booting my economic career, when/if the company went out of business, which Admiral said high % the company would go out of business. I was 100% convinced the Admiral damn well knew what he was teaching me, hell, I had already been told by the company’s account executive through another account executive—the Admiral was a true financial wizard. I clearly understood the future realities Admiral told me were going to happen to the small company employing my services pertaining to bigger corporations, who were much better positioned to weather the economic conditions which were getting ready to happen in the Movie Industry. In effect, Admiral told me I would witness over the next few years the disappearance of most Independent Theater Owners (the small owners), and Admiral was proven dead-on right on everything he taught me-- as TIME slipped into the future.

I called the Admiral and told him the stockholders voted his 4-year investment plan down, basically laughing in my face. The Admiral bellowed with laughter , and said: Now you understand why I would not dare enter any other Board Room with the 4-year investment plan I gave you. The Admiral asked me what else I learned presenting this 4-year plan to the stockholders, and I told him what the CPA said about certain rules-regulations from the government. The Admiral said great, you have now learned certain economic freedoms/systems have now become rigged by certain government rules/regulations. He told me the day use to exist where any American could exchange their $ for gold or silver, now the day existed where Americans could not actually buy physical gold with their pension funds. He told me to come see him the next week, and he would give me the best of the best list of gold/silver stocks for the company’s investments. The company did allow me to invest all their funds in gold/silver stocks.

The Admiral died two years later, and here are the results of Admiral’s 4-year gold/silver stock investment plan: On Monday Sept 22, I sold the entire gold/silver stock portfolio with gold trading at $720 an ounce (gold reached a high of $850 during this 4-year investment period). The gold/silver stock portfolio was originally bought with gold trading around $100 an ounce. The net effect was on average--a 26.2 % yearly profit on the portfolio—which in effect doubled the original investment for the entire pension fund monies in four years. But, if the stockholders had done what Admiral said was the best 4-year plan—buying gold bullion---the portfolio of bullion would have returned, on average, 175% per year with a 7x multiple on the funds original investment instead of a 2x multiple, hence, the effects of a fiat monetary system increasing the cost of goods/services. The investment lesson I learned with this episode in my life: A physical commodity will always return more $ than a stock (piece of paper) representing the same physical commodity. If the company had invested in physical gold, I would have been able to purchase outright a more expensive house, but as things turned out, if I had more money for a house, my wife and I would never have found the homestead we are now living—which has become an intangible nourishing sanctuary for our lives in many different ways. I am going to hit the pause button relaying what Admiral taught me and go back to my Natal Chart with Sidereal Astrology, and explain the astrological timing devices which occurred in my 1976 Solar Year, making this year the most important in my entire life. It was the greatest Jupiter year in my entire life—but not in the manner of entirely/directly making money for myself. Robert Hand writes about Jupiter from his book ‘Horoscope Symbols:’

Jupiter is the planet symbolizing expansion. First of all, what do we mean by expansion? Expansion of what? As all planets are psychological in action, Jupiter is that which expands something in the psyche. Specifically, Jupiter symbolizes the energy that expands the sphere of action and experience in which the individual lives and moves.

Hand’s above words explains exactly what happened to me with my 1976 solar year, specifically exciting the operation of my angular Natal Jup-Node aspect. Up until 1976, the singular business thing that occupied my mind/life was the movie business. 1976-1977 marked the first year in my life where my ‘psyche’ was expanded by other Jup- Node ‘Contacts’ into other Worlds—beside the movie business world. These other ‘Worlds’ literally blew my mind with learning new things in life . These new Jup-Node things/contacts in 1976-1977 involved:

1: Admiral (wisest person in my entire life, teaching me things of true value).
2: Another small businessman who contacted me after one of the stockholders told him about my learnings from the Admiral.
3: My wife and I spending 3 days in Chicago with a husband-wife team, a high-grade psychic & astrologer (my first introduction into the world of astrology).

How was my 1976 SSR foreground Jupiter aspected to other solar planets? SSR Jupiter receives a partile 120 from SSR Mercury (foresighted an ‘outstanding (Me-Jup) incident’ pertaining to Jim’s SSR teachings). Bradley says about angular Mercury-Jup action:

What kind of ‘Travel’ did I incur in my 1976 solar year? I made 11 4-hour round trip visits to Admiral at Merrill Lynch in Birmingham on 11 separate Wednesdays. I made a 12 day visit to Chicago (more about this most enlightening Chicago trip later.) For two months, my regular office hours were in a brokerage office away from my regular office. Remember, the company gave me a large expense account to go out and analyze ways to make company funds $.

Admiral spent a-lot time with me showing me lots of statistical charts with graphs; also, the entire history with money (gold/silver) with historical civilizations, and what happens when a paper currency is not backed by precious metals. Admiral had a chart with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) with a formula showing the true purchasing power of the $. The best thing that sticks in my mind is when Admiral asked me what my starting salary was when I went to work with the company in 1971, it was 20 K a year with standard benefits. Admiral then asked me what my salary was in Nov 1976, it was 27 K a year.

Admiral then took the $ value for one ounce of gold in 1971--$35 an ounce and divided this price into my starting salary of 20 K = 571 ounces of gold. The Admiral then took my annual Nov 1976 salary and took the price of gold $100 an ounce and divided it into 27 K = 270 ounces of gold. In a mere 5 years, since Nixon shut the gold window in 1971 with US $ no longer backed by gold, the net effect of the Nixon Shock in 1971 reduced the amount of gold I could have exchanged with my salary in 1971 from 571 ounces to 270 ounces based on my 27 K salary in 1976. In other words, based on the true $ value of gold, the purchasing power of my earned salary had been greatly reduced, even though my annual salary had gone up 7 K in this 5-year period from 1971-1976. It was then I was hit with a ton of bricks with the realization that something was seriously wrong, economically.

Admiral explained to me by the US going off the gold standard in 1971 allowed the government the sheer power of stealing Americans blind with increasing the money supply without more gold reserves, thus greatly devaluing the purchasing power of the $. When the $ was backed by gold, certain power agencies of the US centralized government had natural restraints in place preventing massive deficits of Debt. Admiral proved to me without a shadow of doubt 1971 began the rapid devaluation of the US $ with great reductions in purchasing value for Americans with their hard-earned salaries. Americans were being robbed with Americans not exactly understanding HOW they were being robbed! In effect, this slow robbing process through the rapidly diminishing value of US $ has wiped-out much of the middle class from a standard of living standpoint compared to 1971 standards of living. Believe me, when the Admiral brought me to an understanding of the truth of his teachings, it put the fear of God in me with the realization of certain future economic truths with me and the small company which employed my services. My 1976 SSR featured a foreground Moon-Saturn cnj with p. SSR Moon partile cnj SSR Saturn at the exact time Admiral got me to understand the truth of what was economically happening when US went completely off the gold standard. My way of psychologically and economically living was about to change drastically over the next few years, as well with most Americans. Admiral knew with historic economic understanding for determining/calculating the true value of things!

Now gold’s value based on US $ is $1,260 an ounce, and has traded as high as $2,000 an ounce. Next: Another 1976-1977 Jup-Node ‘contact’ enters my life when Admiral was finished teaching me economic history. This ‘contact’ without him knowing it—led me to the World of Astrology, and a Virgo Soybean Broker in Chicago. It is a most interesting story relative my born country boy life ‘station’ next to a Drive-Inn Theater.

Steve, even by straight inflation (a much smaller effect than the gold standard), $20K in 1971 was worth $29.5 K in 1976. That's at least an 8% drop in buying power from a 35% increase in salary.

When I started at ACS Publications in 1981, I think my negotiated salary was $18,500. This was enough to rent the extra home I needed in San Diego (I stayed there during the week and commuted back to LA on weekends) and to have enough money to live pleasantly. Just from inflation, that 1981 salary is equal to $52,453 today, which doesn't feel like it has the same buying power. (Rents alone would eat a much bigger chunk of it.)

Exactly Jim! Most all of my friends still working realize the same--not enough $ today compared to their past salaries related to standard of living. And back in the 70's, most of my friends who were married worked while wife stayed home raising children. Now, most young couples today find they both have to hold fairly good jobs to make ends meet, particularly couples with children. I think the real 1971 'Nixon Shock' is being felt (realized) stronger and stronger today--very difficult to makes ends meed compared to 1971, and not as psychological happy as 1971, but there were a-lot more psychological factors than $ that made a 21 year old feel happier in 1971.

Jupiter is associated with incorporation, the bringing of entities external to one’s self into one’s world and making them part of the self. Jupiter is about going out into the world and learning about it, gaining control and autonomy, and increasing the scope of his or her action and experience. My 1976 Solar Year thrust me into a completely different world integrating myself with other new people that became very important to me for the rest of my life. My 1976 Solar Year connected me to the field of astrology, which, looking back on my life, Astrology has become the most important integrated sustaining principle of my life. Tradition holds Jupiter as symbolizing things to do with types of Religions, Astrology has become my Religion, my angular Natal Jup-Node literally connected me to the field/scope of Astrology in my 1976 Solar Year. Before I explain how my 1976 Solar Return connected me to Astrology, I need to explain how specific workings of a small privately held corporation employing me--connected me with Astrology.

I was hired by a small Theater Company to do nothing but organize its Theater operations and contract the highest grossing movies possible for a limited number of Screens, I could not play all the movies available on national release dates. If I did not book the highest grossing movies it represented a tremendous loss of revenue—movie patrons would simple go to a competing Theater 20 miles away to see the movies of their choice. The competing Theater had plenty of screens always playing ALL the movies on the national release date. The Movie contractor I replaced when I was hired was NOT booking the highest grossing movies for the Company’s limited number of screens. The stockholders of the company were of my parent’s generation—they were completely out of touch with the movie goers (baby boomers) of my generation. When I was hired (late 1970) it just so happened Hollywood was going through a drastic transformation. The decade of the 70’s became known as the decade of mega-blockbusting, high grossing movies—it was unreal the amount of $ that came pouring into the company’s coffers, compared to the previous 2 decades. A small privately held stockholder’s corporation has three choices with profits. 1: The company can withhold the earnings/profits for expansion growth or, 2: the stockholders can vote to pay dividends to themselves based on the % of stock owned---I only owned 1 % of the company’s stock, or 3: the stockholders can go to various markets with earnings for possible outside investment growth. In the semi-annual stockholders meeting of July 1976, the stockholders 99% voted to turn me loose investing, with stockholder approval, the retained earnings of the company. Admiral later explained to me the company’s pension fund and retained earning far exceeded the worth of the company’s net assets, I will not bore you with the details of this net asset fact.

Anyway, soon after the company invested 100% of their pension fund into Admiral’s 4-year gold stocks plan, another small business person told me one day while fishing at a large pond, he recently was involved in a very unusual situation with his company that he KNEW meant something very important for the near future with the world of soybeans, but he needed me to go to Chicago and spend several days with a husband-wife team who worked for a Brokerage firm with the Chicago Board of Trade. He wanted me to go to Chicago to see if I could figure out a low risk way for us to make $. This ultimately led me to the world of astrology which I will explain later. If you though the Admiral blew the stockholders away with his investment plan for the pension fund, wait till I explain what I laid on the stockholders to do with company’s retained earnings when I got back from Chicago. My 1976 Solar Return highlighting my angular Natal Jup-Node aspect was not through connecting me-up with other people that completely took me out of my ‘Mickey Mouse’ movie world-- and connected me-up with other huge ‘expansionary’ (Jupiter) Worlds. Later, what I was told at the fishing pond and my trip to Chicago.

The fishing pond incident (late 1976):

As a kid growing-up, I liked to fish ponds by myself, and ponder things—a large body of water helps ‘reflective’ thoughts. After the Admiral was through with me (except for a couple of phone calls later) ---believe me—I had a lot on my mind, so early one evening I went fishing at my favorite pond. 90% of the time I have this pond to myself. After 30 minutes at the pond, a man named Bill arrived and ask if he could ask me some questions about Admiral. I asked, how he knew about Admiral, and he said one of the stockholders told him about Admiral, and for me (Bill) to pay me a visit. I asked how did he know I was fishing at the pond, and he said after calling my home-- my wife told him where I was and how to get to the pond.

I knew Bill, but not any details about his life, but soon was to ask about details of Bill's life. Bill was raised on a farm and his mother/father raised chickens to help pay for a living. Bill knew everything to know about raising chickens—like I knew everything about movie business. Bill was a generation ahead of me. I answered everything he asked about the Admiral, and then he told me something very unusual happened to him in his work place.

Bill’s job was the purchasing agent at a poultry processing plant (Wayne Farms). His primary duties were organizing the processes of feeding chicks a high protein diet of soybean meal to grow-out reaching American’s dinner tables. I think he was employed at this same position for 23 years. He told me he received a phone call from a high executive at the parent company (Continental Grains) which owned the poultry processing plant employing Bill. Links to these two firms are at end of post. Bill told me it was the first time in his duties for his company he had received such a phone call. Bill was instructed to fly to New Orleans and meet with all the other purchasing agents (poultry processing plants) from the South, owned by Continental Grains. A corporate jet picked the agents up and flew them to the Bahamas for a two-day meeting. Bill told me all the purchasing were told to stock their storage bins to full capacity of soybean meal. Bill asked me (he already knew the answer) what I though this meant? I quickly told him the high executive must think the price of soy meal was going to increase significantly. Bill replied---Exactly! Bill was trying to figure out a way us small business people could possibly profit.

I told Bill, I don’t really understand why you are telling me this piece of ‘inside’ Continental Grain info—WTF does this have to do with my life. He told me the stockholder of my company had told him that my company had recently assigned me the responsibility of investing pension/corporate funds and had given me free reigns in this matter. I said—yes—but what does this have to do with me and the poultry business. He asked if I would go to Chicago and meet with two commodity brokers (husband/wife) who were employed by a small privately held brokerage company based in Chicago. I said Bill—I know absolutely nothing about the commodity business, he said yes- he knew this, but the stockholder had told him I had a good analytical mind, and Bill thought I may be able to see a way to make a-lot of $ with this inside piece of info from Continental Grains—if I visited the brokers in Chicago who were going to teach me how the commodity business worked. I told Bill I would have to get stockholder approval in the Jan Board meeting to make this trip to Chicago, which I did, and off to Chicago my wife and I landed.

When Bill left the pond, I thought to myself: WTF is happening in my life. Incidents were happening at a rapid pace that was not relative to my past lifestyle. For the very first time in my life I started to feel/experience a Supernatural Presence in my Life. Little did I realize at this time-- there was indeed a Supernatural Presence visiting my life---it was Rob Hand’s symbolic meanings for Jupiter! And it was Jim’s teaching of Solar Returns which explained the precise timing (1976 Solar Year) for this huge Jupiter cycle in my life. Details about the Chicago trip later.

Before I continue about my Jup-Node trip to Chicago-- the very Center of the World pertaining to Agricultural Commodities, I need to state some details. First, the stockholders sent me to Chicago for one sole purpose: to see If I could determine a very safe way to invest in the soybean market for company retained earnings funds---pertaining to Bill’s insight with the very unique directive Continental Grains instructive their purchasing agents to execute across the entire South for Poultry Processing Plants---keeping their storage bins full of soymeal. Just because you feel very certain the price of a commodity (soybeans) is soon to explode in price, does not mean a small person can profit. Commodities are a very risky business when it comes to speculating on future prices, and every stockholder of the small company which employed my services knew the extreme risk involved with purchasing a Soybean future contract. Precise timing for purchasing a Soybean Future Contract is key! I was sent to Chicago to see if I could figure-out a way to purchase a future contract of Soybeans and the price never go down from the DAY of purchase.

I had to learn critical details (Virgo’s are naturals for analyzing details, any kind of details) of the Commodity Business. Bill had been working with a broker in Chicago for years who had been making him some extra income in the Plywood Futures Contract. Back in the 70’s, if a Commodity Broker did not make their clients a consistent annual extra income from their day jobs, the Broker and the Brokerage Company lost income by losing the client's business for NOT making profits. Back in those days—it cost the client app $100 to purchase or sell any future commodity contract, and the Broker and Brokerage House shared in this $100 brokerage fee for their client's trading in commodities. Clients were very valuable to a Broker and the Brokerage Company, it behooved the Broker and Brokerage Company to make their clients profits trading commodities. Today, the same client can purchase or sell online the same future contract for 4-6 $. This in effect has wiped-out the entire brokerage business for the small business person. Back in the 70’s, a small person could make money in the commodity business from the possible expertise timing advice from a broker. You see, Bill ‘connected’ me-up (Jup-Node) with a husband-wife team who knew, from top to bottom, HOW the commodity business in Chicago functioned. The wife was an ‘upstairs’ broker specializing in the Plywood futures market, and her husband was a ‘downstairs’ day trader in the soybean trading pit. Bill wanted me to ‘connect’ (Jup-Node) with the husband who was an actual trader in the soybean trading pit to see if I could detect a “Pit” detail that might allow us to purchase with precise timing future soybeans contracts, without the price going down from the day of purchase.

After spending 2 days (special pass) in the soybean pit with the husband day trader, and then asking certain detailed Virgo questions over dinner drinks with the husband day trader, I discovered a possible way one could profit with purchasing future soybean contracts on a given day with the price beginning an upward trend movement, combined with Bill’s previous contact info with Continental Grains. This “Pit” discovery allowed the stockholders and Bill to make a tremendous amount of $ relative to their ‘stations’ in life, which I will explain later. But, while I was asking questions to the husband soybean ‘pit’ trader, the wife (‘upstairs’ broker kept telling my wife about a husband (astrologer) wife (psychic) team who lived a few blocks from their house. My wife told me we needed to go ‘connect’ with the astrologer and psychic, but I thought this completely ridiculous since I was strictly on a business trip---not a ‘hocus-pocus’ trip with astrology/psychics . When my wife and I were alone—she kept telling me we needed to ‘connect’ (Jup-Node) with the astrologer/psychic husband wife team because of what Admiral told me about the coming future of the company which employed my services. My wife told me this astrologer/psychic team may be able to confirm some of the economic things Admiral told me about my 'future'. I had to admit to my wife this did make some common sense to my mind. The wife broker kept raving about how good this astrologer/psychic team were with people's lives. Well, we did ‘connect’ with the astrologer/psychic team for 3 mornings, and what they told me about my future became much more important to me than making ‘other’ people $ in the soybean market. My 1976-1977 Jup-Node Solar Year completely changed my way of thinking pertaining to my business future, which actually saved my economic life by preparing me for the coming future. More later.

One day in the Chicago soybean trading Pit with the day trader, I noticed, periodically, floor traders going over to a box and shouting (squawking) into the box. I asked what was going on and was told they were “squawking” to other Brokers across the Country their views about market conditions for Soybeans. I was told at dinner that night that the box was called a “Squawk Box.” I asked what was the difference between a Pit Day Trader and a Pit Floor Trader, and was told Floor Traders were mainly responsible for making clients’ money with “position” trades with their respected Brokerage firms. “Position” Trades are timely trades which are held for weeks, it’s the closest thing to a time period investment in a commodity. My contact was a soybean day trader and never held an open trade overnight, all trades by day traders are closed out before the market closes for the day. I asked my ‘contact’ did he know who was the best Floor Trader in the Soybean Pit. He said he had heard that the Floor Trader for Refco Brokerage firm was some kind of wizard for accurately reading trends for the Soybean Market. My mind was immediately flooded with light ---another financial wizard like the Admiral—but instead of specializing in the gold market, this wizard was specializing in Soybeans. I asked would it be possible for me to meet this floor trader and he said the only way he knew for me to possibly meet the Refco Soybean Floor Trader was if I had a sizable commodity account opened with Refco Brokerage Firm.

The next morning, I called Bill (the fishing pond contact) and told him I may have stumbled on a way to safely invest in the Soybean Market, but we needed a contact with Refco Brokerage. Bill told me there was a Refco Brokerage firm a few miles from our home town and he knew the Broker. When I got home I went to the nearby Refco Brokerage firm and discovered they had a “Squawk Box” connection to the Soybean Pit in Chicago. BINGO! I asked the Refco Broker if I opened a company account would he ‘connect’ (Jup-Node) me- up with Refco’s Soybean Floor Trader in Chicago. Henry was the name of the Soybean Floor Trader in Chicago. I then told the stockholders about Henry and they voted for me to open a company account at Refco. The Broker at Refco even allowed me to use one of their private offices which had an office Squawk Box connection to the trading Pits at the Chicago Board of Trade . I then asked Bill if it was OK if I shared his Continental Grains info with Henry, and Bill said: hell yes. I then got the Broker at Refco to arrange for me to have a phone conversation with Henry one day after trading hours.

I asked Henry one main question: Could he recognize on the soybean trading floor when Continental Grains were buying large amounts of future soybean contracts for a large “position” trade/hedge. He said yes, he could, but very rarely did he see this type action on the soybean trading floor with Continental Grains. Henry told me he could recognize the floor broker who represented Continental Grains. I then told Henry what Bill had said about Continental Grains directing all the Southern Divisions of Chicken Processing Plants filling their storage bins with soymeal, and this was the first time in 20 years Continental Grains had given this type directive to all the purchasing agents. I asked Henry what he thought this meant for the Soybean Market, and Henry said, if true, this could only mean one thing, Continental Grains would close out their short hedges and start accumulating a large long “position” in the Soybean futures market anticipating a large increase in soybean price. Henry was very appreciative for this info! He told me he would “Squawk” when/if he saw Continental Grains accumulating a large long Soybean “position.” I reported back to the stockholders and they ordered me to stay at the Brokerage House with my ear glued to the “Squawk Box.”

Later: Henry’s only two “Squawk Box” Continental Grains incidents which made the stockholders sizable amounts of $ with company investment funds. Pension fund was already fully invested in Admiral 4-year gold plan.

From Jan 15 to April 20, 1977, I sat in a brokerage office patiently waiting for Henry to give any indication Continental Grains were buying Soybeans. There were a few days between Jan 15 and late Feb, Henry would recommend a day trade, and all were profitable with small profits. Then, in late Feb 1977, Henry Squawked he had purchased a ‘position’ of 1977 July Soybeans for his own personal account, with protective stop loss of 8 cents ($400.00 per contract). He said Continental Grains in the last few days were quietly purchasing July Soybeans, and Henry said major sellers of Soybean contracts were absent from the Soybean Pit. I purchased a 'position' for the Company’s Investment Fund, and from the day I made the purchase—Soybeans started climbing in price. In April 1977, there were several days where Soybeans opened locked limit-up. The weekly supply-demand reports for the Soybean market reflected very high usage with a depletion of supply. On April 20th, 1977 after soybeans opened locked-limit-up, Henry Squawked Continental Grains were selling their July 1977 Soybean Contracts and Henry said he was also selling his ‘position’ of Soybean Contracts, I sold and took profits for the Company’s Investment Fund. Henry said he was taking 3 weeks of his 4 weeks annual vacation to the Caribbean—his nerves were shot by making more money he had ever made in the Soybean Pit in his Career. All made possible by Bill, a person raised on a Chicken Farm, working in a mid-level job at Wayne Farms in Albertville, Alabama---relaying to me (at a fishing pond) some very unusual unique news he heard from an executive with Continental Grains in late 1976.

But, looking back on my life to the Triple Whammy of Jup-Node with my 1976 Solar Year, the most important node ‘connection’ I made in Chicago was not Henry, it was the husband-wife astrologer/psychic team which my wife insisted we visit before leaving Chicago. More details about this later.

Steve, I don't know what time Henry squawked his "sell" decision on April 20, 1977, but I do notice that on noon that day (and, thus, a couple of hours either side), transiting Moon was... 1° Taurus, the degree of your Caput Draconis. (Your only other transit that day was Mercury square your Pluto.)

Your Demi-Lunar, which occurred the next day, shows a precise Venus-Pluto opposition across the horizon. I'm not sure where you were living at that moment, but, for Birmingham, Venus was 0°22' above Dsc, Pluto 0°19' above Asc, their opposition 0°41'. If you were closer to your home town, it was even closer (Venus 0°01' from Dsc).

Very interesting Jim! I really have never figured out why I was thrust into a high financial scene with my 1976 SSR, with the Jup transits for my solar year. I can clearly see the Jup-Node ‘connecting’ me with fortunate people, expanding my Horizon relative to my Country Boy Movie environment, but the high $ investment scene??? Sometimes I think 1 Taurus Caput Draconis maybe explains the high $ investment scene. With your experience do you associate Taurus with a $ scene (high finance)?

Henry squawked his sell signal app mid-morning, and I was somewhat in a state of shock (maybe that Mercury-Pluto aspect.) Never in my life have I seen $ increase so rapidly with what was happening in the Soybean Market, it was actually surreal! I was watching the ticker on the Soybean screen and Beans were locked-limit-up and then suddenly Beans tick-down in price 5 cents—then locked-limit-up again—then ticked-down 5 cents again---then Henry issued his sell signal saying Continental Grains were selling heavily into the locked-limit-up price. Not knowing any astrology at this time, I can know look back and see the stockholders were using my natural Virgo analytical talents in the movie business—shifting me to analyze and time investments. My 1976 solar year was a blur—everything happen so fast which was outside my scope of past life experiences. Your great astrology book ‘Interpreting Solar Returns’ is the only astrology book which has thoroughly explained to me the timing processes I went through in 1976-1977—firing- off my angular natal Jup-Node.

No, not at all. (I could argue, though, that it is associated with soy beans.) No, that's a Tropical assessment of finance and Aries.

You may well be onto something with the Jupiter-Node element, especially as you paint the story of how it all arose out of connections and associations. In a more basic way, I think your 1976 SSR shows this direction simply from the effect of the two Jupiters. Your own Jupiter was exactly setting, transiting Jupiter was close to Ascendant, Moon exactly on IC is probably making an exact mundane square to your Jupiter, Uranus squared MC (and Moon)... so you were whirled into new situations with fascinating new stuff flying at you from left and right, and living the life of Jupiter themes.

As a totally secondary thing, but perhaps of interest: You probably know that I'm very curious about the asteroid Ceres because it's essentially the same size as Pluto and is far close to us... why doesn't it have obvious effects? So I'm watching. I haven't found the usual recommended ideas all that obvious or reliable, and hold open the possibility that it has an importance not yet detected.

I mention this because your natal Ceres (traditionally associated with all things agricultural) is at 14°29' Aries. This means that it was near-partile square SSR Moon that year, and on the EP of the SSR. (Your Ceres is on EP at 18°28' Aries; the SSR EP was 16°52'.)

Jim, be sure and check below link of Ceres Mural at Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT). I had completely forgotten about this Ceres Mural, which was pointed out to me by the broker wife at the CBOT. Hell of a synchronicity for me when I was at the CBOT in my 1976 Solar Year. But now an even greater synchronicity with your above observation with set-up of Ceres in my 1976 SSR. Thank you so much Jim—this means a great deal to me with my inner psychic pertaining to my 1976 Solar Year.

Indeed Jim! My wife and the broker wife talked a-lot while me and her husband were talking soybean business. I have been trying to come-up with the right words to describe my last Jup-Node ‘connections’ (Astrologer-Psychic) in my 1976 Solar Year, but I doubt my words will have near the impact on members as it did on my individual psyche. Anyway, here goes my words:

This was my first life encounter with the language of Astrology and the Metaphysical Worlds of the Ancient Egyptians. The Psychic told me ‘out of print’ astrological material would cross my life path which would become a philosophical Elixir for the rest of my life. After 10 years from 1976 studying traditional astrology, I stumbled upon the works of Sidereal Astrology, and this is when I began to truly understand how to listen/hear/read the language of Astrology Charts. Psychic told me all ancient symbols are imbued with great communicative hidden languages, and the symbols of Astrology, particularly the planets (verbs), acted as a great philosophical Elixir for certain souls (astrologers). It was Jim’s book ‘Interpreting Solar Returns’ which allowed, for the first time in my life of studying astrology, my mind/soul to see/understand how to read charts for my individual purposes. My 1976 SSR combined with my Natal Jup-Node Signature was a starling new beginning for my life after I absorbed everything from the Chicago astrologer/psychic, and believe me—it was a tremendous amount of material. The astrologer/psychic material acted as a true Guru (Jupiter) for the continuing of my life. It was like I was ‘Reborn’ into a world of metaphysical ‘spirit/soul.’ My life was never the same after 1976 Solar Year. The Admiral/Astrologer/Psychic truly prepared me for my future in a manner which allowed me to see/understand things in a ‘light’ that literally saved my economic/spiritual/philosophical ways of life. This was the essence of my Natal Jup—Node, it had very little to do with actual material things in life, for the stockholders with material things—yes—but not for me.

The Psychic also told me many ‘modern’ books would come to me about new discoveries about Ancient Egypt, which would also play a huge part in expanding my philosophical Horizon. But, more so than any books/material in my life—it has been the study of Sidereal Astrology which has enriched (Jupiter) my life more than anything, philosophically.

I may post more in this thread as things pop into my mind—but for now—I think I have given everyone a good idea of how my Natal Jup-Node (Rob Hand's Jupiter) and 1976 SSR (Jim's style) toned my life in a major way. Fast enough to check... let's see what I can find with a quick flip-through my own SSRs.

1967 (Rochester, IN): NN on IC about 1°, partile square natal Jupiter-Uranus

1977 (Los Angeles): NN within 2° of IC (on natal Sun) paran natal Jupiter-Uranus on Asc.

1985: NN on MC within 2° closely square Jupiter.

1994: Jupiter-NN conjoined, straddling Asc closely.

Off the top of my head, nothing strikingly comes to mind from this list, but here are the "making it fit as best I can" memories that come immediately to mind. In 1967 (age 13), I was on my paper route and getting to know roughly a third of the people in my small home town in a more day-to-day way. In 1977, there were ongoing contacts and associations in the astrological community, but the bigger impact of this (forming the connections) would have been in the two years after - this was almost a lull (a quieting) in that.

1985 might be the best example of a "miss," in that I'd have expected it a year earlier: In an organization I'd been in for several years, I was suddenly (in spring '85) positioned to be elected to the board and then, with the death of the head, was suddenly one of the three front-runners (and some thought me the front-runner) to head the international fraternal organization. I didn't want it, did have a sense of duty toward it, did want to see things go a particular way, and managed to produce a result where the one person I thought was best fitted got elected and I had a significant hand (as No. 2 officer) in what followed for several years. But this was all over in late September, a couple of weeks before my birthday, and so fell under the prior SSR. The new year (with Jupiter-Node) had me interacting a lot with management of the organization going forward, but the wonder-stuff was done and over and the hard work part settled in. I would think the Jupiter-NN themes were more fitting of the prior year when they were not angular.

1994: Another strange "off" year. Most of the big waves had crested recently, this was more of a "maintenance" year. Any year '91 through '93 (and even '89) would have been decent fits for this idea, but not '94 that I can remember.

Jim, IMO, your work with SSR's showing when prominent natal aspects fall angular on the SSR's are years when the seeds of that natal aspect blossoms- relative to our 'stations'/living environments in life. Do you agree? So, someone born without an angular Jup-Node would feel much less of a Jup-node effect but still some of the 'connections' to other people/things, I guess All I know, my 1976 Solar Year was .

I think I'd agree with that.

What I'm not clear about is whether the Node factor is important in the magnficent story you told. Jupiter alone might have told the tale just as well, and it isn't at all clear to me that the lunar node is a strong enough factor to produce any kind of big result, while Jupiter is inherently social and connecting on its own. (And as something half-way in between, even if we rely just on your Jupiter as the angular planet, part of your Jupiter's natalconditioning is that it's only 0°10' from the Node/Asc midpoint. How's that for "a back door in"?) Two Jupiter's foreground and Uranus square Ascendant is pretty good for that SSR all by itself.

I don't think I got an answer as to where you were living/working during the heat of that year. Was it Birmingham or Albertville or...? Using Albertville for the SSR, your natal Jupiter (mundanely) was only 0°19' from Descendant! (And, of course, Descendant brings its own "connections" symbolism.) And transiting Jupiter was only 5° from Asc, and stationary. SSR Moon, 1°23' off IC, was in near-partile mundane square to your natal Jupiter. It was an awesome SSR!

I totally understand/agree Jim. But it was the new people (high finance) coming into my environment that offers a strong Node tone. But, yes, a Siderealist really does not need the Node to realize it would be a special solar year.

Yes, I definitely noted this, and with 1976 SSR Jupiter partile stationed 90 Natal MC, everything I did as part of my career (‘objectives/goals’) with company was a raving success (Jupiter). Your book ‘Interpreting Solar Returns teaches us that prominent aspects of SSR planets to Natal factors exhibit a “locked” in quality for the entire solar year. The sheer angular force of Jupiter definitely had me "locked" in for the entire solar year. I would like to contribute the success as me being a brilliant money maker for other people, but the truth of the matter, it was other new people who I connected with that solar year that were responsible for the company’s success. But the main essence I am trying to convey to others on the forum is Robert Hand’s words below, quoted again about the effects of strong Jupiter. It was the essence of these Jupiter effects ‘expanding’ my life’s Horizon which changed my life in so many positive ways, not making a-lot of $ for the company.

This thread has to do with my natal angular Jup-Node. I wanted to present this in order for other members to consider the possible importance of lunar nodes with Sidereal Astrology (Solunars). It just so happens I am involved with a business colleague who is on the point of a-lot of new business dealings in his life, and I am very close/familiar with his business dealings, as a consulting Sidereal Astrologer. It could mean some personal business for me in the movie business which I dearly love. Jim teaches us to always read the SSR as a stand-alone chart before bi-wheeling the SSR with our Natal Charts. Let’s do this with my business colleague current SSR---without the symbol for the North Node.

We see nothing angular! However, when we compute my colleagues 2017 with North Node, our eyes immediately see something entirely different involving the Asc of his 2017 SSR. North Node is 1,03 cnj SSR Asc, 1,01 trine SSR Saturn. Ebertin says about Saturn—Dragon’s Head (Node) combos:

Principle: Inhibition in unions or associations

And Ebertin words above is exactly what is going on in his immediate business environment, pertaining only to his stand a-lone SSR.

Business Colleague: Curt, and his immediate business environment.

Curt owns 33% of a Community Theater, Our Town Cinemas (OTC) with a Landlord in Davidson, North Carolina. Curt is the Managing Director for all Theater operations. Curt knows everything about the Theater Business, the Landlord knows nothing about the Theater Business. OTC pays a good lease to the Landlord, and OTC is a very successful Community Theater, the Community loves their Theater. Several months ago, Curt and the Landlord had a falling out over an issue about Theater operations, with after affects which has caused neither to communicate with each other.

About a month before Curt’s 2017 SSR, a real estate group specializing in small Shopping Centers in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, approached Curt about the possibility for Curt to become Managing Director for other Community Theaters in the Charlotte area, there have since been several business meetings. This Development Company is seriously looking to have Curt’s OTC Community Theaters concept anchor their small Shopping Centers with specialty small retail stores (new trend). This is potentially a huge opportunity (Jupiter) for Curt. It takes both Curt and his Wife’s incomes to make ends meet, economically.

Right after Curt’s 2017 birthday, Curt’s Landlord partner got wind of these new Developers approaching Curt. The Landlord became very spooked, fearing the possibility Curt may go out on his own with the other Developers. A week after Curt’s birthday, Curt and the Landlord met, with the Landlord demanding to be cut in on the possible Deal with the other small shopping center Developers. Curt said NO, he was going to keep his business with the new Developers separate from his partnership with OTC and the Landlord. The Landlord told Curt this may present a conflict of business interest with their OTC partnership, it was meant as a legal threat to Curt. A significant business rift was born between Curt and the Landlord with Curt feeling lots of inhibition 2017 SSR (Saturn) from his OTC Landlord. Curt has since checked with an attorney and was told there is no conflict of interest with written OTC partnership. *** Remember Curt’s above 2017 SSR chart without North Node’s symbol tightly cnj his 2017 SSR Asc, and Curt’s 2017 SSR with Node symbol tightly his SSR Asc, tightly 120 SSR Saturn. Also, Ebertin’s delineation for Saturn-Node combos---“inhibitions in unions or associations.” BINGO! We can now clearly see this angular Node-Saturn 120 aspect operating in Curt’s business life with a business rift between Curt and his Landlord partner---in Curt's stand alone 2017 SSR.

Two weeks ago, Curt met with his Landlord partner and his landlord partner asks Curt would he be interested in owning/purchasing ALL of OTC. Curt became somewhat confused but said NO and the meeting ended. Today (2:00 PM EST in Concord, North Carolina), Curt has the annual meeting with his Landlord to go over annual profit-loss statement. Curt has asked me to advise him about his Landlord asking him about the possibility of owning All of OTC. I told Curt to tell his Landlord today in the meeting, he has reconsidered owning ALL of OTC, but only with a straight-up ground lease on the Theater building/land with Landlord owning building/land and all of the equipment in the Theater building. In other words, no capital outlay by Curt (Curt has no Capital). Curt has had little experience with mind-sets of Landlords with ground leases, I, on the other hand, have tons of experience leasing property/buildings from small landlords for Theater operations. I told Curt with the business circumstances which has developed since his 2017 SSR has begun, his OTC Landlord has become very spooked Curt will leave completely OTC—going with the other new Developers. I told Curt, I see a possible excellent opportunity for him with the symbolism in his 2017 SSR, completely separating (Saturn-Node) himself from his Landlord as a partner, and gaining complete operating control of OTC with a straight-up ground lease on OTC. In other words, completely in control of the OTC’s checkbook , which puts more income in Curt’s bank account . Curt has nothing to lose by pushing the envelope in the meeting today, by demanding a straight-up ground lease severing (Saturn-Node) the OTC partnership. In fact, I think think Curt's Landlord actually wants to improve Curt's income position with OTC, by allowing Curt full operating ownership of OTC, to protect both of their mutual business interest with a straight-up ground lease, no personal legal business partnership. Otherwise, Curt may be forced to separate himself from OTC completely if the new Developers sign Curt on to their Developing company. It is a very interesting situation developing in Curt's business life.
