Benito Mussolini and his mistress were captured by Italian partisans and then shot the next day (date and place above). His corpse was then desecrated in various ways. (This was two days before Hitler's suicide.) - Many of the details of the death were intentionally obscured by the participants at the time, and remain foggy in history.
