March 18, 1953, 21:06 Local Time (19:06 UT), Yenice, Turkey (39N55, 27E18)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yenice,_Çanakkale
At least 1,070 people died form the magnitude 7.5 quake that struck western Turkey March 18, 1953. $3.57 million in damages ($33.6 million in 2018). Nearly all the deaths (998) were in Yenice, so I have used it for the event locale rather than the nearby epicenter (40°.02N, 27°.53E). - Chart quality is mixed, especially with the solar ingresses doing poorly and the lunar ingresses doing well.
