Moon in Gemini sign project

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Welcome to the Moon in Gemini discussions project, which will run June 16 - July 16, 2018 (and then will remain around in case people want to revisit it in the future). Please gather your list of Moon in Gemini people (especially those you know personally) and join us.

Here are Moon in Gemini interpretive resources on the forum:
Primary section: https://www.solunars.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=34#p144
Cyril Fagan: https://www.solunars.com/viewtopic.php? ... p=636#p654
Garth Allen: https://www.solunars.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=33#p132
Manilius: https://www.solunars.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=121#p740

My current concise summary of Moon in Gemini (always subject to change) reads:
Intellectual, curious, talkative (charming, engaging). Passions drive intellect & interests. Needs constant input. Attention & interests shifting, varied. Hyper-sensitive (psychic); touchy, edgy (irrational); withdraws, hides. Stability from companionship (does better paired). Needs approval, acceptance.

Okay, will try :)

my two children: fond of games. When they were young they couldn't get enough of rush hour, block by block and shape by shape. Outsmarting each other. Couldn't stand when one was better. Our cabinet is still filled with games and whenever there's a family moment, it's games. Both have a youthful appearance and both do everything to avoid to act or look childish. Always curious, lots of mental activity and smart. Of course mum is not smart. :? They are worriers and need lots of reassurance. Thomas the doubters. You can tell when they are not grounded when they shoot in all directions. Then all is lost and hopeless and they battle with oversensitivity vs being irrational. They are charming and are engaging, aware people. However, they both are sensitive and withdraw when hurt, as long as there is someone at home with them, don't want to be alone. (son: Aquarius-Gemini. Daughter: Gemini-Gemini)

my collegue, a supervisor: When she is doing interviews for hiring people she totally forgets about the business aspect after a while as she is enjoying the companionship of the applicant too much we think. The purpose of the conversation is forgotten and chit chat takes over. Life is wonderful. :) This has caused some problems. When she loses track of situations she seems hopefully lost with anger and needs to withdraw. Very charming in conversations. (Capricorn-Gemini)

friend: A professor. Has about 10 university degrees and is always studying and reading. Collects books and (erotic) art. He also is an artist, a painter. Also teaches graphic design. Multitalented and nervous person.
(Taurus-Gemini)

psychic/clairvoyant: Her answers to questions always turned out to be accurate and spot on. She has Moon, Mercury and Uranus angular. (Sagittarius-Gemini)

I can relate to this Mercury-Uranus signature with a Gemini light. Most accurate psychic I have ever worked with:

Both my parents, my sister and friends T and L, all Gemini moons.
Avoid, and/or try to escape talking about personal issues or don't want to listen to others opinions. They continue to express their own opinion emphatically even after contrary evidence. All think they know everything and won't completely let it go or admit they don't know something. Example- ask them a specific yes or no question and they'll have no problem saying no, if they don't know, but then they will act like they do know after you give them the answer. Always have a comeback whether relevant to the topic at hand. Will change the subject when feeling uncomfortable, which in my experience is often, because I call them out until they admit there's another perspective than their own.
Experiential indeed. Good at practical hands on work with tools and machines. Do share much information but only know what they are obsessed with. My father knows his work and hobbies very well, but outside of personal hands on, invested time experience has little common sense and is way off base. Its like they try and pretend they know everything because they are good at knowing a few things and it doesn't line up.

I think the key of expanding on and then honing in on this list of traits is looking at the polarity and volatile nature's of both Mercury and Pluto's effect on the Moon. Mercury (like Uranus) focuses on vibrations along the sphere of intellect (which stands out that the forebrain is what makes us human) when mercury is with the moon it is very much a nervous energy (like someone who seems like they need anxiety medication). In turn they do a very pluto thing- withdraw. Pluto and the Moon are also linked to a emotional core that is kicked into and out of overdrive, meaning sometimes these people are feeling abousetly everything around them, or feeling abousetly nothing at all. I find these people sometimes so nervous and over attached or not attached and not anxious from moment to moment it is unsettling to be around (as a mutable sign with some sort of mood issue as well I smoke, and weed is definitely involved with many Moon Geminis I know If not all of them that I know).

More on to the pairing part of the sign I think the wording that stability comes from a consistent relationship is very true. However this could be mistaken as a more cancer trait so the way it is worded is rather important, and done rather well, however I don't think the nature of this relationship is needed to be romantic in all cases.

I have a set of Libra (Sun) Gemini (Moon) best friends, T and S. These girls love to go out and have picnics together or hang up a hammock, go on hikes etc. They love nature and being immersed in it together and I think they also make each other more stable and less reclusive.

That being said I "think" there is a pluto level of depth to this sign that is missing in this description, I'm not quite sure what it is even exactly to be honest but it's definitely there and mostly hidden in the individuals (not sure if it's repressed or known about and kept secret).

"Depth" is not something I can find in Gemini Moon (absent a Hub Sun). They have many other fine traits, but that isn't one of them.

Some of them do have awesome minds, though. Such scientific minds as Sir Isaac Newton and Linus Pauling stand out, though there are many lesser examples. In the arts, few of the greatest have Gemini Moons (perhaps Stravinsky and Rodin being the outstanding exception), but the ability of Gemini Moons to be popular as artists - to really capture a grassroots audience and fandom - is stunning.

Sorry Jim let me redefine, I meant there is something beneath what may be on the surface I used depth not to describe them as deep people. Not only the things you mentioned but also in the public eye in terms of religion (religion, art, science, music etc.). Perhaps it's a link to Pluto and the creation processes (I do find this people to be like spontaneous combustion or the big bang in the fields that they choose to go and excel in) that help make gemini so polar in the public eye.

We disagree on this. I think Moon in Gemini is the weakest argument for a Pluto dignity in Gemini and one of the best arguments again it. Traits basic to Moon-Pluto aspects that are dramatically different from Moon in Gemini people are nearly the whole basic Moon-Pluto interpretation. For example, Moon in Gemini people as a whole are not:
Bold and forthright, questioning and challenging, maverick and alien; independent, “marching to a different drummer,” resisting authority. Avoids habitual conformity (rebellious?); resists conventional conditioning and being made to concur with others’ values and codes... Deeply inquiring into existential mysteries, often igniting remarkable intuitive insights.
(Yes, they are "questioning" and skeptical, curious, but not in the "confront and challenge" sense of Moon-Pluto.)

The only basic Moon-Pluto trait that fits them is "restless, unwilling to be still for long," as an expression of their nervousness.

Where I do see what might be called a Pluto quality in people with Moon in Gemini is that - the other side of the coin of their needing companions - is their tendency to social isolation which at least somewhat marks all of them and, in some cases, is quite acute. (It's probably a less-obvious version of anti-Jupiter.)

And, of course, it does seem a bit Plutonian to intentionally call yourself "Weird Al" <g>.

I have finished the rewrite in Moon in Gemini. You can find the results here:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=34&p=144#p144

Here is the somewhat rewritten summary (with the three keywords Curious, Playmate, Multiplicity)
Curious, mentally quick, talkative (charming, engaging). Needs attention, approval, inclusion. Stability from companionship (does better paired). Playful, loves games. Versatile, needs diversity, restless. Interests shift, varied, multiple, driven by passions. Sensitive (intuitive, psychic), cagey, touchy, withdraws, hides.
