Moon Madness & Gladness

[Moon-Sun]
Little things mean a lot, as the saying goes, and this holds especially true for the use of astrology in everyday life. Just checking on the Moon's day by day relationship with your natal planets is an excellent way to "learn by doing." The few hours when the Moon is making a major aspect to your natal Sun, for example, have a way of attracting significant types of people to cross your path, or else momentarily makes you a center of someone's attention. Moon to natal Sun can often be taken advantage of in those common situations of life where you are ordinarily "faint of heart" when it comes to speaking out, making requests of propositions, and bearding the lion in his den.

[Moon-Venus, Moon-Mars]
A typical reaction when the Moon is aspecting your Venus is to have a yen to go shopping. If you stay home, the mood to clean, rearrange furniture, shine mirrors, or cook a special dish, often asserts itself. It is also remarkable how often Moon to Venus will make you forget your traditional grudges and peeves, and you are able to make friendly small talk with people you can't stand at most other times. Much the opposite is the case under Moon to Mars when you tend to find fault in others or merge into a mood of just not giving a hang how the living room looks - and your culinary ambitions reach no further than a can-opener.

[Moon-Uranus, Moon-Neptune]
Under Moon to natal Uranus, your strong points come to the fore, usually to the chagrin of others, whereas under Moon to Neptune, your weaknesses are in evidence, usually to the benefit of others. You can be rather foolish under either stimulus, with differences in the folly in direct keeping with the nature of the planet in question. Under lunar-stimulated Uranus you are apt to be too breezy or attitude, too permissive and ostrich-like in the overlooking of obvious flaws and pitfalls. Under Neptune, on the other hand, almost automatically you tend to think the worst and otherwise make mountains out of molehills, or vice versa, as though subconsciously determined not to think realistically or fairly. Under Uranus, your environment has something to teach you, but under Neptune, you unwittingly try to impress your prejudices upon your environment.

[Moon-Mercury, Moon-Pluto]
Somewhat the same is the case with Mercury and Pluto lunar touch-offs. With your Mercury stimulated, there is an outflow from inside you to the outside world, while with Pluto limelighted, you are the receiving end of an influx of communicative pressures from outside yourself. Putting it another way, a good key phrase for Pluto is "hidden persuaders," in contrast with your own ability to communicate with and influence others, by voice, pen or "image."

[Moon-Saturn]
In our personal diary we have from time to time made note of the frequency with which the hours when our natal Saturn is Moonstruck coincide with little lapses of memory which cause later regrets. The most recent incident diarized was an instance of forgetfulness which caused a friend considerable embarrassment at her place of employment. The incident ensued at the very hour the Moon was squaring her natal Saturn - Saturn being the planet Fagan calls the planet of "psychological discomfiture." It is interesting that a psychologist would insist that most memory failures are unconsciously intentional as a form of self-punishment. To forgive may be divine, but to err is Saturn.

[Moon-Jupiter]
Compare the Moon-Saturn atmosphere with the crystalline air of Moonlit natal Jupiter, how that the Jovian hours often make you do the right thing despite yourself (as a form of subconscious self-reward?). You suddenly remember what the missing ingredient is; the ideal solution to a tricky problem or touchy situation almost intuitively occurs to you; the moves you make evoke nods of approval or signs or relief. Life indeed is a three-ring circus, the rings being your nativity, your progressions and your transits!

Does anyone here track Moon transits on the regular?

It seems to me that Moon moves so quickly through the signs, it would be tedious to try to track them all in the general, and would make more sense to only look into the moon transits for a specific window of hours, to decide the exact timing of an important event or something.

I almost never pay any attention to them. I see the Moon position several times a day, so occasionally notice them, but it doesn't usually register as anything.

In theory, it does give a four-hour window within which a certain kind of effect can occur.

Recently I noticed that Moon was in the degree of a friend's Sun. I knew she was on a job where she had to find an opportunity to get people's attention and sell them on something. I texted her that Moon was on her Sun and she still had a couple of hours when it was likely easier to get quality focused attention. She thanked me, but I didn't hear any outcome.
