Doomsday!

I find it interesting to look back at projections by scientists in earlier decades and to remember how they seemed and sounded at the time. The following is a Garth Allen article excerpt from the February 1961 issue of American Astrology. It anticipates not so much the exact problems we are facing today as the general sense of emergency around it. We may have dodged this specific bullet with a lot of attention, which means we can dodge other bullets if we actually put our collective minds to it. I do find it disturbing that, this late in the game, the long-term impact of pollution on climate wasn't anticipated - that recognition was at least a decade away.

I find it thought-provoking.
You folks with planetary tables enabling you to computer ephemerides far in advance should work out the celestial configuration for the third decade of the 21st century, just to see whether there will be anything unusual taking place around that time. Through rigorous mathematics laced with gigantic ifs, the exact year in question is 2026 A.D. This is the year that the present rate of population increases in the world will make its breakthrough into infinity - barring global epidemics or atomic wars.

So states Dr. von Foerster, physicist of the University of Illinois, in the weekly journal Science, published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, surely the biggest brain-trust on our planet. Even a school child or anybody lacking know-how in advanced math can appreciate that this forecast of doom is no fiction, no mere calamity-howling. Simply plot the population figures of the past and present on a piece of paper and connect the points with a curve and it does indeed shoot straight up into infinity about 6 or 7 decades from now [1961].

What is fiction, however, is that the disaster which an overpopulated world must face is mass starvation. Food technology is already so advanced that we rest assured our grandchildren will not starve to death. They will be pressed to death by each other before beri-beri gets the best of them. Another danger is planetary air pollution that has gotten so bad as to be beyond control, resulting in global asphyxiation.

The disaster can take any of many possible forms, but disaster there will be if the population explosion is not curbed within our own lifetimes. Determining the date of doomsday for the human race would surely be an interesting challenge in astrological deduction. Astrologers who specialize in the study of cycles have a most fascinating problem to tackle and we'll look forward to hearing their views.

By 2026, Pluto will be in Capricorn, just past conjunction with its position in the U.S. natal chart. Uranus will have just entered Taurus. Somewhat gruesomely, Saturn and Neptune will spend that year in Pisces, conjunct much of 2025-2026. Jupiter weaves between Gemini and Cancer.

We will have come through the era when Pluto, in late Sagittarius and early Capricorn, aspects Moon in every weekly lunar ingress, and we'll be out of the zone where Pluto is on every U.S. Capsolar's angle. (Capsolars in the decade after 2021 don't have strong recurring patterns such as we've seen for the last decade or so.)

I think Bradley died before climate change became a widespread concern. Certainly we didn't have a handle on what was happening with that yet in 1961.

I have looked at DC's Capsolar through 2030, and I feel like if we can get through the 2021 Capsolar without a major disaster of lives, we may be OK for a while. But, we never know when a vicious malefic Solar Ingress in any World Capital could start some type of domino effect. But, more & more, I am putting more faith (thanks in your SMA work Jim) in DC's Solar Ingresses which has the potential foretelling us of impending danger which has the potential to do great harm. I as an individual with my meager means try to prepare for the possible worst mundane world event on an individual manner (my faith has always been with the individual), and hope for the best. And then my wife and I try to help the community in donated time which helps people who needs help. IMO, I believe the World is reaching a point where it has gone too far to malefic ends for any form of world government to protect its people. I think it possible the genius/seer which produced Giza forewarned certain individuals with knowledge of the Precession Cycle for these possible 'Doomsday' points in the Precession Cycle, with the points of 30 degrees Leo & Aquarius on the Precession Cycle, and it has to do with major weather cycles to malefic extremes, and may have no fundamental reason which is causing these major weather events other than it is some unknown natural cycle with Precession which is causing em. I mean, if we believe certain scientist's are correct the ice caps at poles melted thousands years ago---then it damn sure was not vehicle carbon emissions which melted em, maybe mega volcanoes going off at the same time? We serious Sidereal Astrologers, thanks to Bradley, knows the precise point of 30 degrees Aquarius---2376 AD, and my common sense tells me by looking at what is happening in the World today compared to all the written/known history---things are certainly 'speeding-up' to a Doomsday point if things don't stop happening the way they are happening. Precisely how far away it is before its becomes completely uncontrollable--is speculation--but anybody who puts their trust in any form of world government is....

Things are not going to stop happening as they have been building up for decades now. We will see more and more extreme conditions. When ice caps have melted before and will melt in the future may possibly be caused by the polar movement. It's been very rapid in recent decades while we've seen the weather extremes. When the poles move this much, it weakens the magnetic shield of the Earth...Which let's in more cosmic rays from the Universe which can indeed warm up the planet. If this is the case now (not unlikely at all since we have the evidence of polar extreme movement now), then we are indeed doomed because there is nothing we can do about it. With the ice melting fast and higher sea levels, lots of big cities will go underwater. We will also see a huge part of human kind erased as a result of these extremes.

A very graphic description of the rapid rise in temps since 1961 compared to ages past. IMO, it is just a matter of time before a severe drought destroys one year of the grain crops in North America or South America. :(

I have thought long and hard my whole entire life on what I see as humanities current trajectory.
I really have a lot more then .02$ to say about all this but I will spare you all the details and just sum it up.

I believe that the humanity needs to hear an old song that hasnt been played in years, which is the Song of the Spheres.

The lie that Culture has imposed on the human psyche is a loud rumbling of garbage pilling up inside each and every human being on this planet. everyone. that topical blech.

If I could give one gift to each and every babe in this world, it would be the true song that is Our Path, so that they could sing it to themselves and remember who they are.

and Mr. Eshelman would have to sing it, because he has a nice voice.

Well I wasnt going to say that outloud.

I have a terrible voice too but I like to sing sometimes regardless.

I always hope though if i keep singing someone with a good voice will come and drown out my swarking.
