Thinking About Business
Well, school is going to be expensive. I have some capital and cash that I can use to buy wholesale merchandise. One thing I am wondering though, with my Mercury/Jupiter trine about 3 degrees apart, would that be a good idea? Mercury is angular in my chart. I guess, I just want to make enough money to pay for school (almost 20,000 dollars worth for my upper-division undergraduate) and maybe graduate school. I wanted to start off with resale and then move up to wholesale markup. I was thinking about selling on Ebay and Amazon. I wanted to start this year and possibly continue until I can finish my Master's. Since my adrenals have become a bit more balanced, it feels like I have enough confidence to undertake this project.
Re: Thinking About Business
as some one who has done a lot of sales work, if you have an issue with your adrenal gland I would be very cautious about investing in the market with the intent to capitalize. Sales is one of the most stressful jobs in the world. I don't know what your intending to sell, but in order to make significant gains you have to invest in products that the market needs but that can be bought low and sold high relatively easily. the market for those product are very cut throat and full of people who are doing it for their life and not with the intenet to jump in get loaded and jump out there for they have skills on undercutting and sabotaging your market, which is not a nice thing for your adrenals.
if you love dealing with people and making them happy then resale is a great thing, but if you have issue with angry rude customers, tire kickers, and scammers out to take advantage then I wouldn't think it would be a good fit.
I love parts of sales, Im a customer service specialist in a way, and even I had trouble dealing with all the negatives.
I also would think that this business would take away a lot of your energy that you should be focusing on studying and working towards your Masters.
Having mercury anglular means you would communicate well for sure, whihc is essential in sales, but think about this and see if it matters to you:
You buy wholesale a bunch of socks, every body needs socks so it seems like a great idea to resell. You shop for the best bargin on your socks, and do all the leg work to get them, and then you have to market and resell them yoursellf. You bought the socks for a dollar a pair (nice socks too) you take pictures and write up a little ad about your socks and them advertise them (time consuming) and decide that you need 5 dollars a pair to reach your goal, other people are selling socks for about 6 or 7 bucks so your undercutting them hoping to get customers (dont think the other sock sellers are not watching you). you have people come and some buy the socks and its easy peesey, but other people come and they look that the seams and complain about your socks and they talk about the weather and there old socks and on and on and on and they tell you they will give you 2 for your socks becasue they are just socks after all and they arent special. then you get some people who come who are barefoot and have no socks, but they have some money. winter is coming and they need socks but they have never needed socks before and they dont know how sales works they just need some socks, but they only have 15 dollars, so they are going to buy socks and share them.
you know what you paid for those socks, are you going to be able to take that 15 bucks from the people who are naive and needy? cause that happens, and that sucks and the market will tell you to grab their money and run and dont look back. but thats the kind of thing that really bothers people with intergrity and kindness. On line sales is no different weather the person is standing in front of you or not. you also have the issue of taxes on your sales, and how you plan to deal with that, on the down low to keep each penny, or on the up and up to give back a percent of your work to the greater community.
I had an opportunity to make a lot of money reselling but my other dynamics in my chart besides my selling attributes prevent me from taking advantage like that and sleeeping a good nights sleep. I need my sleep, sales in all aspects is prostitution in a very very real way.
as a friend I would encourage you to follow your heart and listen to your body. Life is not about making money. You want to go to school to leanr how to nurse and care for people because that makes you happy? or do you want to go to school to be a nurse because its a good way to make money?
there are grants and loans and programs to help you get funds to achieve educational goals, and while you may have to fill out a lot of papers and get good grades and meet requirements and all that type of work, I believe that that type of work (selling yourself to agencies for their support to achieve your goals) is less taxing on your soul.

Re: Thinking About Business
I appreciate your advice, Veronica. The thing is, I really need money too for other living expenses, not just for school. The job market in my town sucks, and I've looked everywhere over the summer for a nice paying job. Even the minimum wage jobs are taken or don't have enough hours unless you're willing to sleep with some gross, old dude who doesn't bathe but has a position in management.
Re: Thinking About Business
I understand the need for money to live, Im a single mom of two teenagers, and in this day and age you can never have enough money for your kids needs and wants. Ive been out of work for almost two years. I barely have two bits to rub together. I have capital, and I know how to sell and flip things, and I could have made tons and tons and tons of money, hustling my wares. I am telling you what I have come to understand about the markets today. if you want to buy a spot on the market floor (online, in you garage, an actual store, it doesn't matter) you are prostituting yourself, and it will wear and tear on your heart and soul and reek havoc on your biology......especially your adrenal glands.
I don't know what your answer will be or how to solve your issue, but for me, its better to sleep with that human being once who is looking for love and willing to help you get a job (even though he may have some down sides, and even though society thinks its wrong) then to subject yourself to the same power play over and over and over each time you try to sell a pair of your socks.
maybe if those are teh only opportunities in your town, then you should move else where to a place that has work that you like to do that pays.
Have you been to any workforce developemnet workshops or looked into the Department of Employment for you state? I am hoping that maybe you dont realize that there are actually a tons of good jobs out there, but they are not posted on craigslist or facebook. If you have a college in your town then there is a service industry to support that. What about Civil Service, have you taken any civil service tests that you are qualified to take, most college studeents have enough education to take any clerical tests as well as human services.
my father was a vocational rehabiliationist who worked with the Association for the Blind finding jobs for all sorts of disadvantages people. He has helped me in lots of ways finding these sorts of organizations. (believe it or not I did this spring complete Microsoft Training on line and I am now certified through Microsoft as a Word Specialist and I am working on my Excel certifaction. taking that initive gave me the edge over others when I appllied for my library job, which pays horrible but I love)
I am not trying to diswade you from selling, just trying to give you my expierence in the market, and to see if maybe you were aware of other options.
