Two interesting days, 8 years apart

Post by Avshalom Binyamin »

So, I am beginning to wade into analyzing my transits.

I started with charting outer planet transits for the long-term view.
Jan 12 2018 t. Saturn 90 n. Saturn
Jan 5 2018 t. Jupiter 45 n. Saturn
Outcome: I hosted the first session of what is growing into a community tango orchestra. It has been well-received, and I've shed limitations about what I could accomplish musically, and shed some personal shame.

Jan 27 2018 t. Neptune 135 n. Moon
Outcome: I officially entered into a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship with my lover.

Feb 11, 2018 t. Saturn 90 MC
Outcome: My role at work changing. Boss left for 6 months in London office.

March 2018 t. Jupiter 0 n. Uranus (indirect: within orb only)
Outcome: Increased creativity.

April, May 2018 t. Saturn 90 n. Moon (orb only)
April 6, 2018 t. Saturn 45 n. Uranus
April May 2018 t. Pluto 90 n. Pluto (orb only)
Outcome: Moved into new home (April 6 was my move-in day), increased sense of refuge and security. Quit a musical trio I had started because I didn't feel like compromising. Strong pull for "bigger, better" goals. Had a new business idea, registered for week-long tango musician workshops.

June 28, 2018 t. Saturn 90 MC
Outcome: Work has shifted. My role is disappearing, and work has been frustrating, but have worked out a plan to move to a different department where my intuition says I will be much happier.

May 16 and July 24, 2018 t. Neptune 135 n. Sun
Outcome: Have been feeling a sense of ego dissolution, personal/spiritual growth.

August 25, 2018 t. Saturn 90 n. Saturn
Interestingly, as t. Saturn returns to square n. Saturn, I have the first public performance of the community orchestra scheduled (Aug 20).
Overall, the theme has been change (same as always). Career shifts, shedding go self-limiting beliefs around romance and creativity, spiritual growth.

Another interesting thing that has been happening now is Kundalini experiences.

Eight years ago, on May 1, 2010, after a period of dream journaling, meditation, ceremonial magick, I had an intense kundalini experience, followed by a few weeks of various phenomena. I was able to calm the energy down, and hadn't experienced much phenomena since. However, in retrospect, I would say it marked a dramatic pivot in my life course. I had a glimpse of the divine, and realized how much personal work I still needed to do. I took a break from intense magick, and worked on myself. Eight years later, my life feels completely different (changed careers, became a dad, entered into first polyamorous relationships, had ordeals--experienced an injury, two surgeries, chronic pain, financial troubles, divorced, moved three times, started dancing tango, embraced my bdsm inclinations). I'm considerably more "myself" now.

On July 4, 2018 I had another kundalini experience. For several months prior, I had been attending tantra classes and working on clearing my chakras and moving energy. I had been feeling blockages in my solar plexus and heart chakras, and at one point, had a vision of a dark hole in my heart representing unhealed trauma, and worked with it. On July 4 I went with my girlfriend to a riverfront just north of Portland.

I ended up finding a spot to meditate for a couple hours, and felt my chakras all open up again, like they did on May 1, 2010. I had a spiritual vision, and came to understand that my personal flaws and traumas--while important to continue to work on--didn't need to interfere with my ability to connect with the divine.

It ended up being a day of good connection and reassurance in spite of some social anxiety, and I have noticed that people have been approaching me to start spontaneous metaphysical conversations since then. I've been able to keep the energy flowing around my chakras--much more gently than eight years ago.

Here are the transits I see.
t. Neptune 135 n. Sun
t. Saturn 90 MC
t. Venus 90 n. Uranus
t. Venus 60 n. Pluto (just over 1 degree)
t. Sun 90 n. Moon
t. Sun 120 n. Mercury
Summary: in a context of a period of general ego dissolution and life re-assessment and change, I had a surprising and profound moment where I felt like the recipient of Grace and divine connection, and came away with an idea.

Looking back on the May 1, 2010 experience, I find the following transits:
t. Pluto 90 MC
t. Pluto 120 n. Venus
t. Neptune 90 n. Mars
t. Uranus 120 n. Mars
t. Saturn 0 n. Jupiter (2 degree orb)
t. Saturn 60 n. Mars
t. Jupiter 120 n. Uranus
t. Mars 60 n. Moon
t. Mars 90 n. Mercury (over 1 degree orb)
t. Moon 60 n. Moon
t. Sun 180 n. Mercury
Aside from the Pluto-Venus trine and Venus-Pluto sextile, and the Sun-Mercury aspects, these charts look very different. This one is much more Martial, intense, aggressive, sexual. Which is how I remember that kundalini experience.

These are great examples. There's one miscalculation in the more recent event that alters how it looks, but overall these are interesting as they stand.

For 5/1/10, leaving out the soft aspects, the transits boil down to transiting Pluto square your MC (even closer to your 10°40' EP) and transiting Neptune square your Mars. More than Saturn's transit to Jupiter is the fact that Saturn was in late stage of zeroing in on conjunct natal Saturn: In the course of its 30-year orbit, it was very nearly looped around: You were on the verge of your Saturn return when certain maturations spontaneously occur.

For July 4, 2018, you mistook Neptune quincunx your Sun for a sesqui-square. I wouldn't count this, so I'd discount that transit. The main transits on that day were: Pluto had passed the exact square to your natal Pluto (so a certain inner shift had occurred sometime in the recent past). Saturn was exactly conjunct your EP (where Pluto had been in the first event), and fully marked the event. (Remember especially that Saturn is Tav. With a different level of awakening, it is Biynah. But at the very least it is Tav, the root chakra, the concentrated material storage of cosmic consciousness.) Sun square your Moon is interesting and feels right, but I can't pin it down more than that without sounding like I'm rationalizing. Venus square your Uranus is most interesting.

These, of course, are just transits to your natal chart. One interesting transit to your progressions - given the Sun-Moon transit for the second event - is that the first event has transiting Sun exactly opposite your progressed Moon. Another indication of a kind of 'maturity' being reached for the first one is that your progressed Sun-Moon relationship had returned to almost exactly the same as the natal one: At birth, Moon was 4° behind your Sun. At that event, progressed Moon was 5° behind progressed Sun.

For the 2010 event, your April 26 lunar return has transiting Pluto 1° below Descendant. The SLR for your 2018 event had a Venus-Mars opposition along the meridian.

Ah! thank you.

Yes I see the tav/Saturn parallels in both periods. The first felt more about responsibility and sacrifice and practicality. This time it feels different and the same. Deeper and freeer and more enduring. (That's vague. Oh well.)

But yes, both feel like maturing. That's the best side effect of getting older 😊

Pluto Venus Mars sounds like a dramatic love affair! Interesting...

I'll have to learn about progressions and SLRs next.
