Well, gosh, we can use astrology to find out when it occurred, right? We can't use it in our statistics thereafter, but we can have some fun with what we have.
The event occurred "during the Christmas season" in either 1942 or 1943, in Dickens, NE. Let's take an estimated dae of December 21 and see what comes up.
IF IT OCCURRED IN 1942
Year: Capsolar (Dormant.)
Year: Cansolar
This is a quite credible chart for such a year! Mars is 0°41' past Dsc, Saturn 2°24' past IC, and they are in 1°43' mundane square. Moon squares Uranus 1°34'. (Pluto is also foreground.)
Quarter: Libsolar
Moon opposes Pluto 0°13' for the world, and Moon squares Saturn 1°47'
in mundo in Nebraska. For Dickens, Neptune is 2°10' from Descendant with Mercury 4°, conjunct Neptune. Confusion, air attack, and the rest.
Month: Caplunar
Moon conjoins Jupiter 0°01' right along the EP axis. All the other (minor) indications are also positive spins. This could be a "nobody got hurt" chart, but there's nothing to actually link it to the event.
Week: Arilunar
But the December 16 Arilunar makes up for that. Mars opposes Uranus (0°38'), with both about 1° from square Ascendant. This is definitely a 'we got bombed" chart!
Day: Capsolar Quotidian
No transits to Capsolar angles occur anywhere near the estimated date except for Neptune's more or less all-year conjunction with a Capsolar angle.
There aren't any days in anything I could consider "the Christmas season" that has angle crossings suggestive of the event.
Day: Cansolar Quotidian & Transits
December 16, the day of the Arilunar, has CanQ Asc conjunct ingress Mars. I think with the lead-in charts being so splendid, there's an excellent chance this was in the week beginning December 16, and perhaps on Wednesday the 16th itself.
IF IT OCCURRED IN 1943
Year: Capsolar
Not a good fit. Sun exactly sets (so, "the guv'ment did it") but with Jupiter and Neptune also foreground and in exact aspect. Doesn't sound like the event. (Moon squares Mercury.)
Bridge
Quarter: Libsolar
There's confusion, and an act of aggression for the whole world, but for Dickens there isn't much that fits. A 0°32' Moon-Mars conjunction is universal. Neptune is exactly on IC. Ah, and Moon is mundanely conjunct Saturn 1°33'. It's fine enough, but not brilliant.
Month: Caplunar (Dormant, and with Moon square Venus.
Week: Canlunar
Moon entered Libra early evening December 21. The Liblunar is dormant so, whether before or after this date, the Canlunar would be the Week chart. It is most marked by a Sun-Saturn opposition along EP axis, with Mars and Uranus setting. It's a credible chart and really the only one of the batch that I'm inclined to take seriously.
There isn't any daily timing to "bring it all home" near these dates.
CONCLUSION
I believe this event occurred in the seven days beginning December 16, 1942.
