Hi -- I'm Clay Reed (and also I'm ...)
Because google allows for searches of names, I hesitate to give my full name because people will search for it and find out I'm (gasp) an astrologer -- which is trouble professionally. I think, however, I can mention my last name: Erickson. You'll find me in old issues of American Astrology (1988-1995) under those names, plus a few times under Jake or Jakob Chanson.
Thanks to those who have discussed my work (if only rarely) on this board. I appreciate the intelligent critique. Thank you Jim Eshelman.
One problem: I hate typing and find it kind of exhausting. So I'm not the best contributor.
I have bipolar disorder. That disease has been in a mysterious remission for more than 20 years -- manifesting for the last time in 1995. Unfortunately, the last time the mania phase struck I alienated almost everybody I knew in the astrology world, and then I just quit publishing and lecturing and communicating. I was fortunate enough to remain friends with Derrick, but I cut off contact with everybody including him (then, later, professional concerns took up my attention and I again lost contact with Derrick).
This post is simply to introduce myself. If I can get over the hatred of typing, I'd like to contribute something relevant -- perhaps in regard to previous posts regarding my work (all of which is now more than 22 years old), or without the narcissicistic self-reference and just in terms of whatever is being discussed.
Please take this post in a generous spirit.
