The People We Attract

Nota Bene: This is not a synastry post, by "attract" I mean what we all mean: the converse, which is to say who we by chance run into.

At any rate, Mr. Eshelman made a post recently encouraging us all to give accounts of the Leo Moons that we know. The fact that I could not participate since I do not know any got me thinking. Perhaps prominent factors in our chart, in the same way they symbolize life's unfolding, are at least somewhat indicative of who we meet? In my small list of birth data the most common Moon sign happened to be Cancer (10 of 27), the second most common was Libra (6 of 27), and the third most common were Capricorn and Virgo (Tie: 3 of 27). The most prominent factor in my chart is an exalted and angular Moon receiving partile aspects from both benefics. The second most prominent factor in my chart is a middling and exalted Venus receiving a partile aspect from the Moon and a close trine (1°17) from an angular Jupiter. Perhaps there's something to it, but, since its such a small sample, perhaps not. And what exactly makes a planet "prominent" is unclear. However, Mr. Eshelman himself, having an angular Moon in Aquarius, has noted that Aquarius Moons are the second most frequent Moon placement in the birth data set of those he knows. But Leo being the first without any of his personal planets being in the sign throws a little wrench in all of this.

Anyway, do you find that the Sun or Moon constellations of those you know are somewhat reflected by prominent placements in your own chart? Let's see

Romantic attraction and close friendships commonly have Moon's in the same or opposite signs. As an Aquarius Moon, I have most often been attracted to Leo or Aquarius Moon women.

However, from your report, you are attracting Moons in relation to your Sun-sign. (Your list is different from mine, since yours seems to be everyone whose chart you have, rather than specifically a list of romantic partners.) That about 60% of the Moons fall in two signs - Cancer and Libra - is striking and probably shows them in relation to your Aries Sun.

....I dont know any Leo moons personally either....I reflected on the traits and thought about people in the world I thought embodied them.....I read about Angela and checked her out.....then I thought about the opposite of her beauty and pulled Jimmie out of my recollection......so do think you cant participate just bc you dont personaly know anyone.

For me, the people I attract... well .....

I dont have friends irl. I have people who want to use me (all people are tools and mirrors) and different people have different needs at different times in life.

I get along with everybody and I dont get involved with people bc I have no boundaries and have no time for childish games, unless its really childish games like hopscotch or Tag.

Jupiter Sets at Dawn spoke about bodies gravitating, which is akin to your word choice of "attract."

In life you are going to attract people, or be attracted to people based upon All the needs that a soul has. Each planet represents a need. If a soul is unable to meet thier own needs, if that which they seek they find not with in, then they will look to fill that need via manicans and mirrors.

All of which is unhealthy and not true.

The only thing needed from another is truth reality and time. Reality is subjective and based upon understanding and understanding comes from love and time.

Ah this is great to know, thank you. I'm glad there was something to it. And this rings true about the girl I posted about before with Saturn conjunct my Venus (ouch), we had Moons in opposite signs, and I've never been so attracted to anyone. Though I'd much prefer an Aquarius moon, assuming they're anything like Aquarius Suns, who for some reason I attract the most.
However, from your report, you are attracting Moons in relation to your Sun-sign.

Is there a relation between Aries and Cancer? Besides being the exaltation signs of their respective luminaries?

Personally I have venus in aquarius aspected by pluto and people with whom i can get along well frequently has venus/uranus or venus/pluto aspect.
Hey Cool, thank you for your example I'm glad you found this to be the case. You have Venus/Pluto just like Mr. Eshelman which is sweet.
with your venus-jupiter trine perhaps you are attracting young women with jupiter qualities into your life
Yes a lot of young women lol and some of them are very Jupitarian too, this is true. Some have Jupiter on an angle like me.
and with your moon-jupiter opposition perhaps a lot of women in your life they have this moon-jupiter in some aspect too, or their jupiter aspects your natal moon and vice versa.
I'm really uncertain about how this aspect manifests af all actually, despite that it's the signature feature of my chart.
it's all about symbolizm our chart is a symbolic picture reflecting the kinds of people that enters into our life.
Yes I agree

Okay thank you, I'm going to post about some famous Leo Moons since you have!

Would you say you have chart factors which might make relations difficult? Who are you attracting? Neptune people?
I get along with everybody and I dont get involved with people bc I have no boundaries and have no time for childish games, unless its really childish games like hopscotch or Tag.
lol you're cute

No, Aquarius Moons are much better than Aquarius Suns <vbseg>.
However, from your report, you are attracting Moons in relation to your Sun-sign.

They're both Rim, of course, though among Rims they are quite unlike each other, e.g., one is solar and the other lunar, one is martial and the other anti-martial. I suppose the one structural similarity is that they are both anti-saturnian.

I wouldn't focus on what the people are actually like, though. We are drawn (in a general way) to people with these sign relations to ours regardless of what they are like (not because of what they are like). While I very much like Leo Moon and Aquarius Moon people, it wouldn't matter: I'd be drawn to them (and them to me) regardless, just because I have an Aquarius Moon.

I suppose in this particular case (Moon-sign alignments) it is a matter of what signs have the greatest resemblance to our own. People with the same Moon sign tend to cluster together - there is a sympatico, an underlying commonality at a basic level. But (polarities being what they are) the sign second-most like a given sign is its opposite: Especially in relationship matters it is important, I think, that there is this (at least unconscious) recognition of how our antithesis is our shadow-complement, how we "go there" when our more habitual way of being fails us. With Sun-signs, polarity can mark a certain measure of identity, but the ego-distinction character of Sun makes it more likely to be divisive or avoidant. However, with Moon the polarity is experienced through the side of us that is inherently connected, not-separate, so that has a different effect.

And, of course, after same-sign and opposite-sign, the signs most like a given sign are the others in the same quadruplicity, so Rim Moons in general will have a strong draw for/to you.

Of course I have chart aspects that make relationship s hard. Everybody does.
Neptune people?
I dont know what you really mean by that.
My neptune moon and jupiter are pretty strong and heavy in scorpio.
Through out my life I have always attracted a wide range od people, and my occupation s put me front and center at of a lot of public and service points.
My point of view and the way I was brought up though....was not to be concerned about who I am attracting from out in the world of strangers. I was blessed to be brought up in a huge dynamic family and a very tight family.
You dont attract friends the same way you attract kin and its those dynamics that should be a point of focus.
When i was a child I had many playmates and thats what I was told friends are for.
Im a double hub though and i am extremely selective of when and where and with whom i spend my free time because I dont have to much of it.

I wasnt being cute...i was being for real. My best friends are under the age of ten. I relate to children easier then adults because children are more honest reliable and fun.

I dont ever recall you saying one thing was better then anything else.......

Ever.

I suppose if there is going to be first for anything it might be a whooper like that one!

Im not sleeping over here ya know....
Jk

I like this topic and have wanted to talk about it more (if I haven't already).
For me, calculating exactly the factors that attract me to someone and visa versa, is difficult, especially without full birth data. Is it the planet, sign, aspect etc?

I haven't been motivated to find friends and partners, but rather have let them come to me for the most part. They have come to me mostly, or, it just happened simultaneously. Almost all of my girlfriends , initiated, gave me obvious signs they were interested. Friends much the same way. I think I come on strong when deliberately seeking a partner or friend.

In general (Sun)-
I have had some challenges with every sign in their own way. Taurus seems like too much work to even talk with them. Libra has been annoying. I did have a few close Libra friends.
Gemini and Pisces I have gotten along with and have been close to. (Nothing physical with Gemini)
Some Leo and Scorpio been close too. Scorpio Suns usually come after me
I have been consistently attracted to Capricorn men (as friends) and woman (sexually)
Virgo and I communicate well, or the flow is natural, easy.
Moon-
Leo moon woman have been attracted to me

My best friend ever was a Leo Sun, Scorpio moon. He moved away about a year ago.
Gemini Suns seem to like me more than I like them. But, I do get along with Gemini Sun. I seem to like Pisces Sun. I had a close friend in elementary school with Pisces Sun.
I had a close friend who is a Libra Sun, Pisces moon, Mars in Sag. But, we didn't get along all that well. I had a close friend Cancer Sun, Sag Moon, Mars in Libra. Easy to get along with.

I might elaborate on this more when I have time.

Have dated for more 'serious' relationship- Pisces Sun w Virgo moon, Pisces Sun with Capricorn Moon, Leo Sun w either Sag or Sco moon, 2 Scorpio Sun w Leo Moon, Pisces Sun w Aries Moon, Leo Sun w Scorpio Moon, Aries Sun w Leo Moon.

At least three major crushes on Capricorn Sun. Nothing ever happened physically with them
