US forecast Oct 16 - Nov 13, 2018

USA Mundane Forecast
for the four weeks beginning OCTOBER 16, 2018

If you are unfamiliar with the methods and interpretations of Sidereal mundane astrology, please see my free book Sidereal Mundane Astrology. (A link to the current edition can be found near the top of the Publications sub-forum.) For standard interpretations, see Chapter 8 of the current (15th) Edition.

LONG-TERM (Solar Ingress) PATTERNS
The 12 months beginning January 15, 2018 are unstable, revolutionary, revising, remapping, anti-establishment, and often anti-government. Here are the highlights from the Capsolar (most of which have already been manifesting all year exactly as written in January):

Pluto (0°08') & Uranus (0°42') angular. A spirit of revolution assaults current systems, tearing at iconic structures. Victory in the 2018 elections will fall to those who present best as rebels. PLUTO: High-impact events that sever connections. Mainstream and counter-establishment sensibilities clash. Leader crises, financial crises, severing historic relations. Natural disasters include hurricanes, earthquakes, floods. URANUS: Explosions (literal or metaphorical); sudden rupture, shock, surprise, overflowing normal boundaries & limitations. Disclosures, revelations, surprise attacks, changes in leadership, protests, and revolts and their suppression.

Foreground SUN-VENUS-URANUS: Changes in foreign relations are a certainty. Shifting social values, including increased liberty in Venus matters. "Culture wars" kick up more intensely for the midterm elections. The voice of rebellion is concentrated on those in the highest office.

MOON conjoins MERCURY & SATURN. Expect economic narrowing and backtracking on the recovery: recession is not unthinkable. Capsolars had close Moon-Saturn aspects in 1819, 1837, and 2008, which should concern students of American money crises. Its record for violent inhumanity is heart-stopping. Climate destabilization will escalate faster in 2018 than in previous years, with tragic, life-smashing consequences.
  • Mercury + Saturn. Restrictions, delays, failures, & calamity in transportation & communication. Communication fails for technical reasons & because people stop listening to each other. Information flow is interrupted & rationed. Data integrity is increasingly doubted; cybersecurity is a greater priority than cyber-expansion. Commerce is interrupted: More newspapers go out of business, more small businesses close their doors.
  • Moon-Mercury: The media remains much of the story.
  • Moon-Saturn: Hardship, narrowing, sacrifice, loss, sadness, with few causes for celebration. Bereavement, deprivation, disappointment, destructive assaults by people & nature; other hardship centers primarily on alienation and divisiveness. It will be a good year for undertakers.
  • Saturn in Sagittarius: Internationalism, immigration, aviation, elitism, hierarchical economic separation, & missiles dominate headlines.
MARS-JUPITER: Resources are squandered, stretched past capacity. Religious evangelism and other belief-driven enthusiasm and aggression accelerate. Bigots have louder voices. In nature, as in human affairs, expect stormy weather.

Libsolar (October 18)
This ingress, overlaying mid-October to mid-January, is volatile. "Combative" doesn't do it justice: It is more intensely confrontational. Angular Pluto brings many of the year's themes to a head. Moon conjoins Mars within half a degree (closer for Washington than the world): This is outright bloody (in parts of the world, literally spilling blood and counting bodies); yet the conjunction closely squares Mercury, so the "bloodying" we see will be especially with words... and with disclosures from data streams, documents, and the press and other publications. A close Mercury-Uranus PVP opposition signals discoveries and revelations. These start spilling forth at an accelerated pace through the last half of October and into early November and the elections.

A late hurricane season will impact the Gulf. Saturn is on IC near New Orleans and through the Mississippi Valley where the worst effects will land. Neptune (in the west) and Pluto (in the east) are the only other two planets crossing large swaths of continental U.S., so local climate and cultural crises can be expected. Most worrisome is Pluto on IC along the coast from North Carolina to New York City, while squaring Ascendant in New England. The eastern seaboard, therefore, is as vulnerable to severe autumn storms blowing off the Atlantic as is the Gulf.

MEDIUM-TERM PATTERNS (The Bridge)
All month (exact 11/8) is a PLUTO Zone (transiting Pluto squares Capsolar Ascendant). This reiterates and concentrates Pluto elements in the Capsolar interpretation above.

Until November 8 (exact 10/27), transiting Saturn conjoins Capsolar Moon, forming a SATURN-PLUTO Zone. Periods of such Saturn transits reliably produce a few weeks when death, loss, sadness, sacrifice, and severe hardship dominate headlines worldwide, either from human action or the destructive impact of nature. Paired with Pluto for the U.S., this takes the form of harsh, dramatic hardship with a sometimes apocalyptic feel, such as catastrophic disasters with profound feelings of irrevocable loss or separation. This apocalyptic feeling lasts until just after Election Day.

SHORT-TERM (Lunar Ingress) PATTERNS

Caplunar (Oct 16)
The Caplunar is dormant, though with Moon square Sun. Primary influence of this week, therefore, is the most recent non-dormant lunar ingress, the October 3 Canlunar.

Uranus sets (1°51'). Mars is more widely on IC. Their square is within 2° in mundo. In a word, Mars-Uranus squares are explosive, bringing startling violence, surprise attacks, and psychological (if not physical) “bombshells.” The planets of fire + explosion anticipate bombs and collisions. These can be purely psychological and verbal (it is an election year, after all) or can be physical explosions and attacks or sudden, raging natural disasters.

However, Venus is much closer to an angle than Mars (0°27' from Eastpoint). This softens the tone. After an unusually rough month, people seem more focused on making a difficult situation better. Shifting relationships with other countries are always anticipated when Venus and Uranus are the two strongest planets (echoing their Capsolar foreground square). More broadly, these three week have started letting people smile again and share something exciting and perhaps promising.

Raucousness and disagreement are probably a healthy sign right now: They can be the best side of America with an election pending. Clarity comes from new information and demystifying facts, because Moon squares Mercury for Washington (0°09' in mundo). The media plays a large role in this, and is probably a big party of the week's stories. Watch the news especially for anything about security of voting machines.

On 10/20, CapQ MC conjoins transiting Uranus. This is the most volatile day of the week.

Arilunar (Oct 24)
The Arilunar covers October 24-30. Expect a rough week. Mars is the only planet in the immediate foreground, and its one aspect is a PVP square to Saturn (1°22').

Mars-Saturn aspects are difficult to specifically interpret because pretty much the only think you can count on is that events will be harsh, hurtful, destructive, and filled with struggle. The aspect does not specialize in any one type of bad event but, rather, incites destruction and hardship wherever it occurs, whether from human events or the rages of nature.

This chart seems beyond the often harsh and aggressive competitions of an election season, especially when you add Saturn's concurrent transit of Capsolar Moon. That is, it seems to be about something else. (However, "attack ads" will surely be flowing earlier than usual this year.) Something else is cooking.

Presently, the main long-term transit in the U.S. natal chart is Pluto, half a degree from natal IC, an uprooting and overturning transit. Neptune is exactly square natal Uranus, a difficult transit to interpret but likely meaning that the wool is being pulled over our collective eyes. This week also marks an exact opposition of progressed Moon to U.S. natal Mars. These aspects don't seem to provide any more details, but they do increase the sense that something dire is brewing.

CapQ Descendant and Mars hover close all week, but outside a 2° orb until 10/27. The last days of this week, therefore, have the first strong Mars trigger, and Mars' quotidian presence will be stronger the following week. CanQ Ascendant squares Neptunes 10/24-28: hysteria and misjudgment are a big part of the event. Earlier, CanQ MC squares Saturns 10/24-25.

Canlunar (Oct 30)
The Canlunar covers October 30 to November 5, right up to the eve of the midterm elections. Jupiter, Mars, and Sun are the most angular planets, with a close, culminating Mercury-Jupiter conjunction the only aspect.

Were this a personal lunar return, I'd call it boisterous. It's far more collegial than I would expect. There is a clear sense of winning in the air, as if feeling one's oats as a championship team. Optimism runs high, business prospers, and people seem actually to be having a good time for a change.

What a strange tone for this exact week in history! This feels so... healthy! Of course, mounds of money are being spent left and right. Competition is the word of the day no matter how collegial things seem. But in the Canlunar is a remarkable absence of the animosity one would expect.

CapQ Ascendant chases Mars all week. As the Canlunar opens, transiting Mars is square Capsolar Jupiter on the angles, so expect a brief monetary crisis or other Mars-Jupiter event. November 4, Mars is at 28° Capricorn, its exaltation degree, exactly square Capsolar Mars and half a degree from CapQ Descendant: This, two days before the election, will be the center of the most competitive. combative, even violent outbreaks.

Liblunar (Nov 5)
The Liblunar covers November 5-13, which includes Election Day and the U.S. mid-term elections November 6. Though five planets are reasonably angular in Washington, there is only one that is close: Sun squares Ascendant (0°06'). The message is clear: This election, which isn't a presidential election, is all about the president! Whichever side one is on, the issue that will matter is whether one is for or against President Trump.

Sun has a single hard aspect, though it isn't evident from the chart shown here: It's a mundane square to Mars, only 0°20' wide. One might take the easy route of calling this an afflicted Sun, that, "It's all about the president, and the tone is hostile." I think the truth is not so simple. The aspect only likely shows the intensified and heightened late-hour aggressive competition. There is combat, and rhetoric is as fiery as a fuel-plant explosion and as blasting as a Category 5 storm. (Rather than saying Sun is afflicted, one might as well notice it is exactly at the Venus/Jupiter midpoint. There is no single way he is perceived by the nation as a whole. The answer is up in the air.)

There remains gaiety in this chart. Moon conjoins Venus (0°07' in mundo). Uranus is the second most angular planet and opposes Venus. It isn't exactly a sense of play, but it does show excitement and buoyancy that, writing this nearly two months in advance, I cannot explain at all.

Regionally, the West Coast (including San Francisco and Los Angeles) has a Saturn line and looks quite deflated; same with the longitude of Denver. The Indiana-Ohio region and a great swathe across the Plains is marked by Moon, Venus, and Uranus. It will be interesting to see if this reflects which regions come out of the elections happiest.

CapQ Descendant exactly conjoins transiting Mars November 6, concentrating the Mars forces especially on Election Day itself. That day and the next, CapQ IC crosses ingress Jupiter, so there will be a lot of noisy celebration and boisterous carrying-on. Transiting Mars stays in partile angularity all week; ingress Mars crosses IC 11/11, which should be an especially nasty, hurtful day.

Trump Watch

Post by Jim Eshelman »

PROGRESSIONS & TRANSITS
President Trump continues several progressions this month, of which the foremost are a mix of powerfully positive and positively negative patterns:
  • p Saturn conjunct p Midheaven
  • p Mars sextile r Pluto
  • p Venus conjunct r Jupiter (p Venus also trines r Uranus; p Sun aspects Venus-Jupiter)
All month (exact 10/31), emotional insecurities and uncertainties are heightened as progressed Moon aspects natal Neptune. Something really surprising and exciting breaks through, probably concentrating right after the election: For decades, Trump has progressed Uranus opposite natal Moon, currently 0°08' wide. It is triggered this month as progressed Moon trines natal Moon beginning 10/16 (exact 11/10) and sextiles progressed Uranus beginning 10/18 (exact 11/13).

Transiting Pluto squares natal Jupiter & aspects progressed Sun all month (Pluto-Sun only until 11/12). Pluto-Jupiter has been the defining transit of his presidency: It uplifts the lowly and drags down the almighty: based on Lunar Returns below, it may swing one way during part of the month, and the other way during another part. As the month progresses, his aspects are positive with a series of quick Jupiter aspects including Jupiter to natal Mercury until 10/20, Jupiter on natal IC until 10/22 (exact 10/17), Jupiter square natal Mars 10/24 to 11/2 (exact 10/29), a gap during the election period itself then Jupiter square natal Ascendant beginning 11/8 (exact 11/12). The last, however, overlaps the new, degrading and depressing transiting Saturn square natal Neptune, returning 11/11.

Of those, particularly interesting is transiting Jupiter on natal IC, which lasts until 10/22, followed by Jupiter square natal Ascendant right after the midterms, 11/8-17. Though neither is exact for Election Day (11/6), we shouldn't ignore these unusually positive markers before and after the election despite some challenging Lunar Returns. By the time these transits occur we may have more of a clue how they will play out due to late September transits of Jupiter to Trump's Washington local angles. (This is still weeks in the future as I write this forecast.)

SIDEREAL LUNAR RETURN (Oct 14)
Objectively, President Trump has good aspects as he enters the last half of October, especially Jupiter's transit of his natal IC. For example, this likely shows that his relationship with what politically is called his base is strong. Under this transit, the most private life elements, such as family and the sanctuary of the East Wing, provide his most rewarding pleasure and greatest respite.

However, emotionally he is a mess coming out of last fortnight's Demi-Lunar, and his new SLR reiterates most of the same themes for four more weeks.

Pluto on Descendant continues to square natal Jupiter (0°20'). This cannot be taken as positive for President Trump, given the rest of the chart. Here, it suggests not the odds-defying exaltation of the unlifted, but rather the tearing down of one who has reached a high peak.

Natal Venus, Saturn, and Neptune are closest to the angles. Natal Neptune is a mere 0°54' from IC and natal Saturn less than 2° below Ascendant. (Natal Venus is within 3° of Asc.) Mundanely, his close natal Venus-Saturn conjunction is even closer (0°51'), while Saturn square Neptune is 0°53' on the other side, placing Saturn at the Venus/Neptune midpoint within 0°01'.

This is disillusioning. Ideals fall, bubbles pop, and the enchantment ends. One becomes jaded and cynical from hurtful betrayals. Natal Venus-Saturn-Neptune thus arrayed reflect betrayal (on both sides of a transaction), dour mental states, heart-sickness, and increasing distrust of, well, pretty much everybody. Saturn-Neptune expresses emotional exhaustion, resignation, and defeat (or at least fear of defeat).

As if the chart needed anything further to mark it a downer, angular Sun squares natal Saturn; transiting Saturn (widely angular) squares natal Neptune; and Moon squares Neptune in mundo. The only planet likely to rouse some combative energy to pull him from the inertia of depression is transiting Mars in middleground partile opposition to natal Pluto, which suggests rage and volatile response to emotionally charged issues amidst high stress, driving one to the breaking point.

In the chart of someone less physically protected than the President of the United States, this series of charts would suggest a risk of suicide.

SIDEREAL DEMI-LUNAR RETURN (Oct 28)
One aspect dominates Trump's Demi-Lunar: Transiting Pluto squares his natal Jupiter (0°29'), with Pluto 0°29' from IC and natal Jupiter 1°04' before Ascendant. The prior afflictions are gone. While stressors surely persist, and challenges to his rank, wealth, and esteem certainly continue, this chart is so different from the two or three before it that it seems to reflect a turning of the tide.

It does continue to exist within the prior SLR, though: The personal demons and emotional malignancies continue. However, his Jupiter transits have uplifted him a bit. (Though not angular, transiting Jupiter is partile square natal Mars for the Demi-lunar itself, reflecting successful aggressions and renewed strength.)

Were I to take this as a stand-alone chart, I would interpret it positively for him for the election (and, as seen below, the aftermath looks quite positive for him). The only real question is how much the October 14 Lunar Return weighs in. Theoretically, both charts are valid concurrently, with the Demi-Lunar representing more immediate conditions and the full SLR showing, on balance, the whole of the four-week period.

Natal planets are foreground, but widely. For example, his Venus-Saturn is again angular (but farther from the angles, and no longer with the mundane aspect closer than his lifelong ecliptical aspect). Most importantly, natal Neptune is not part of the picture. The Demi-lunar's mundane Moon-Neptune square is quite wide. Campaigning (which he loves) likely has let him chase his demons into the closet and feel his oats again. However bad these two weeks feel to him, it's a clear upswing from the four weeks before them.

SIDEREAL LUNAR RETURN (Nov 10)
Transiting Jupiter rises within 0°06' in his new Lunar Return that he will feel two or three days after the election results are in. Jupiter also squares his natal Ascendant 0°32'. He was won. The world gave him a prize. His esteem is heightened. He feels better than he has felt in months.

There is, however, something dirty and deceptive about this. I don't believe we can interpret so hair-splittingly close a Jupiter any way except as a win, but Jupiter is also doubly afflicted. First, nearly as angular as Jupiter is transiting Neptune, 0°31' from IC, the Jupiter-Neptune mundane square only 0°25' wide. Second, Mars squares Jupiter within a quite reasonable orb for a Lunar Return.

Jupiter-Neptune is the signature aspect. Its key is unreasoned optimism. Its giddy trend may reflect an excessively optimistic state of mind not warranted by the facts, though the aspect does not, itself, mean that the facts are wrong. Classically, Jupiter-Neptune is known to mark a swindle, either that one is swindling others or is caught in the swindle themselves. Mars square Jupiter suggests that this victory has cost him, probably more than he thinks it's worth, i.e., that he feels exploited, cheated, a sucker who had to forge an agreement or cut a deal that he regrets in hindsight. The sense of deception is strengthened by Mercury's close square to the angular Neptune.

Nonetheless, he looks in the moment like a happy winner. Pluto square his natal Jupiter (0°42') has a positive bent. Venus squares natal Venus (0°48'), suggesting he feels happy and has something to celebrate with others.

I am not happy with the results of my forecasts for the election, and invite anyone to point out to me where I'm wrong. (I can still edit this until October 16, though I'll be on the road for two weeks in the middle of October.)

I think it's really important to remember after the election, we may have a largely lame duck House, and maybe even Senate. They will have nothing at all to lose so can vote in all kinds of Republican dream bills. Trump may be very happy because they may decide to fund his wall and anything else they can to stick it to the incoming Congress.
There may also be a financial crisis which he can blame on people not voting in his hand-picked slate for Congress.

When the country first started, the elected farmers had to make sure there was a good manager for their properties, and ride horseback or carriage to DC, find lodgings and get settled before they could take their seats in Congress or the administration. Inauguration Day used to be March. Then we got trains and it was moved up to January. I think it might be a good idea to move it up again. There's no need to wait two months and let the old Congress and administration see how much mischief they can get up to.

And another thing. Are we going to get an answer right away or is everything going to hinge on a couple-three re-counts and a decision by the courts whether there was interference or not?

If there are recounts, they likely will be over within, say, a month, which means they will occur under Trump's November 10 SLR.

He also, thereafter, has a lot of Jupiter SLRs for a few months. Something has him feeling lucky - but there is even more Neptune, on balance:

Nov 11: Jupiter 0°06' from Asc, Neptune 0°31' from IC
Nov 24: Neptune sq. MC (1°03' stationary) and two Marses across horizon
Dec 7: Jupiter 2°40' from Dsc, Mercury 1°32' (other side)
Dec 21: Neptune 0°06' Dsc, Mercury 0°49' IC., Jupiter 1°22' IC
Jan 3: Moon 0°09' from IC (his luminaries on angles; some harsh aspects)
Jan 18: Neptune 1°39' Asc sq. Moon on IC
Jan 31: Venus 0°56' Asc, Saturn 1°04' sq. MC; Moon, Mars, Jupiter also foreground
Feb 14: Jupiter 0°00' IC op. Moon 2°38' MC
Feb 27: Mars sq. MC 2°00' (but Moon-Jupiter conj. 0°30')
Mar 14: Saturn on Asc 2°23', Pluto on Asc 5°40', mundane conj. 3°17'; but Moon op. Jupiter 0°59', T with Sun-Mercury
Mar 26: Sun 1°58' Dsc
Apr 10: Moon-Jupiter op. 2°08' (Jupiter stationary), as the most foreground planets
Apr 23: Neptune sq. MC 0°39'
May 7: Jupiter 3°17' IC, op. Moon 2°23' MC & Mars 4°32' MC, with Neptune 3°18' Dsc
May 20: Moon-Jupiter conj. 0°12' Sun-Merury widely angular
Jun 3: Saturn 1°13' Asc, Pluto 4°05' Asc (mundane conj. 2°52'), Mars 2°57' Dsc (Mars-Saturn op. 4°12')

So, boom! All of a sudden, the last lunar return before his birthday slams him hard. Then he gets a new Solar Return with Uranus 1°15' from EP and natal Venus-Saturn on IC. Not a lot, but interesting. Moon squares his Mars.

Hate as predicted (unfortunately)

Post by Jim Eshelman »

After the pipe bombs sent to prominent people opposing Trump, and two men shot just for being black, and the Pittsburgh synagogue murders which were executed solely because the victims were Jewish... the real media lead story this morning is that hate is running rampant in the country at the moment. The violence is obvious and the hate does indeed seem obvious. Furthermore, much of it seems attached to the upcoming elections themselves, not as a side story but as a version of the same story.

This was all predicted (by which I mean, of course, the descriptive themes, not the specific events). If you want a great example of PVP aspects, reread the Arilunar prediction below: This is more than Mars on an angle, this is Mars on an angle closely aspecting Saturn.

I wish I had been more correct about the Libsolar violence being more with words than deeds.

Arilunar foremost events

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Moon has entered Cancer. We're off on a new week.

I've started tracking what the major (three or four chief each day) headlines are for U.S. events during each lunar ingress (as a way of getting what the predominant outcome of a lunar ingress for Washington is). Under the Arilunar all the lead stories centered on hate. The most repeated national headlines each morning in the news feeds are watch were these:

Bombs sent to prominent Democrats & Trump critics
Tree of Life Synagogue murders in Pittsburgh
Other related hate-based event (shooting someone because they were Jewish, black, or against Trump, etc.)
Migrant caravan travel ban issued and 5,200 troops sent to the U.S. southern border.

The only other really big stories the last week were:
Trump uses an insecure iPhone and the Chinese know and track it.
Trump wants to cancel a nuclear arms control treaty & will meet Putin next month to discuss
Mega Millions lottery winner
A really crappy week in the stock market

And from this morning, there's also this, appearing in my FB feed:
President Trump plans to sign an executive order that would remove the right to citizenship for babies of non-citizens and unauthorized immigrants born on U.S. soil, he said yesterday in an exclusive interview for "Axios on HBO"

There's a new article on Politico today suggesting that Mueller has subpoenaed Trump.

While not a "major headline" like the caravan or the bomb threats, this would be a pretty major event happening behind the scenes, if true.

Depending on when this happened, it would be viewable in Trump's personal charts, and interesting to see which side of his new SLR vs. his old SLR and Demi.

I don't think it would appear in the ingresses unless it took hold of mass mind by being disclosed and the center of great attention.

Key dates from the article about the case they are tracking which might be the Trump subpoena to testify before a grand jury:

8/15/18 - Giuliani said Trump would move to quash a subpoena, said they were about done with their memorandum on the topic.
8/16 - A sealed grand jury case was initiated in DC Federal district. Special prosecutor's office was involved.
9/19 - Judge issued a ruling on the matter
9/24 - One party appealed to DC circuit.
9/27 - The same party filed a motion to stay the district court's 9/19 order.
10/1 - Special counsel's office responded.
10/3 - Appeals court dismissed the appeal.
10/5 - Original judge corrected a technical procedural flaw.
10/10 - After another appeal, the witness was again before the appellate court
10/10 - Parties filed a motion for expedited handling. Granted 10/12.
12/14/18 - Date on which oral arguments are scheduled.

December 14 is the day every year that transiting Sun conjoins Donald Trump's Moon, a day before it opposes his Sun. This year on that date, Saturn opposes his Mercury (31').

Months ago I posted the malefic vulnerability to Trump involving his DC SSR in Dec 2018. Note: Transiting Saturn is now closing in on a partile cnj to his DC SSR Asc and partile 180 to his DC SSR Moon.

That's quite good news! If he's in Paris by Saturday morning, he has an inconsequential SLR. If he's still in DC them, the chart could mean an act of diplomacy.

Moon has entered Libra. The news media is repeating my prediction about the single strongest characteristic of the new week, e.g., CNN opened its morning newsletter this morning saying, "He's not on the ballot, but today's midterm elections are all about President Trump." Compare this to my forecast for the new week, "The message is clear: This election, which isn't a presidential election, is all about the president!"

I'm curious whether the lunar ingress of the week will give a regional indication of voting. (I hope not, but we'll see tonight.) Here's what I wrote on regionality:
Regionally, the West Coast (including San Francisco and Los Angeles) has a Saturn line and looks quite deflated; same with the longitude of Denver. The Indiana-Ohio region and a great swathe across the Plains is marked by Moon, Venus, and Uranus.
Meanwhile, the arrival of the Liblunar means the completion of the Canlunar. The main themes I identified for the Canlunar week now behind us:

I'm not this refers to anything dominant in the week other than the election on-ramp itself (and, as Steve has kept us informed, a lot of betting; also a lot of donations, money flowing). I do think that the tone has been far more congenial than in any recent election. By taking the five biggest headlines each day Monday through Friday and dropping any that aren't about the U.S., the biggest, most repeated stories of the last week are:

Midterm elections
School bus stop crashes - 4 deadly events killing children at school bus stops
Whitey Bulger killed in prison

I notice (when we add stories that only appeared once) a recurrence of issues involving children. There were a LOT of them, and I said nothing about that - the distantly foreground Moon (8° below Dsc) is the only thing I see that might relate to this. In addition to the school bus stop deaths, we have the following stories that made the top 5 at least once:

** USA gymnastics likely will be dropped by US Olympics Committee as the sport's governing body due to sex abuse scandal (the doctor who molested a lot of young girls)
** A new report by the American Academy of Pediatrics strengthened their stand against corporal punishment of children based on actual harm caused
** News that members of the generation currently 15-21 in age are more likely to have gotten psychiatric treatment than any other generation ever

Keep in mind that about half of the truly uncertain House seats remaining are in California, and another one is in Alaska, and those states take a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOooonononong time to finalize results. So we might not know the precise number of Democratic gains for a few days.

My friend put forth the idea that this is reflected in all of the wins by democratic women, people of color, and LGBT candidates, both in the house and gubernatorial races. It certainly seems to fit the responses that I've seen to those wins.

One commentator last night remarked that, even if it wasn't the anticipated Blue Wave, it certainly was a dramatic Rainbow Wave.

Though there are individual races and items I wish had gone differently (those will always be there), I'm quite content with the outcome.

As of the November 5 Liblunar, Florida has a Uranus line right down the middle (see below). Florida, the state that made vote recounts famous, has never had a state-wide (full state) recount and now they are starting three of them - complete machine recounts for governor, senator, and agricultural secretary.

Breaking news: Trump left Washington yesterday for Paris, so his new Lunar Return for today is not the chart used for the Trump Watch forecast above. I will post another soon.

Donald Trump's November 10 Sidereal Lunar Return (calculated for Paris, France) has the following features. This is an entirely different chart that the one for Washington, DC, with dramatically different meaning!

r Mars on Dsc -7°41'
t Mars on Asc -7°56'
r Pluto on Dsc -6°56'
r Venus on Dsc +4°32'
r Saturn on Dsc +7°42'

r Mars/Saturn on Dsc 0°00'
r Saturn/Pluto on Dsc 0°07'
t Mars op. r Mars 0°15' in mundo
r Mars-Pluto conj. 0°45' in mundo
t Mars op. r Pluto 1°00' in mundo
r Venus-Saturn conj. 1°55'

t Jupiter sq. r Asc 0°32'
t Pluto sq. r Jupiter 0°42'
t Venus sq. r Venus 0°48' (sq. r Saturn 1°08')
t Saturn sq. r Neptune 1°05'

As already mentioned, this is an entirely different chart. As made vivid by the mundoscope, a partile (0°15') natal Mars-Pluto conjunction forms, which is exactly opposed by transiting Mars. Furthermore, natal Saturn is the same distance on one side of Descendant as natal Mars-Pluto is on the other side, so that natal Mars/Saturn and Saturn/Pluto midpoints are exactly angular - Mars/Saturn being exact to the minute of arc and Saturn/Pluto only 0°07; off. Finally, President Trump's close natal Venus-Saturn conjunction is foreground.

Almost every kind of severity, belligerence, and cold-heartedness one could articulate are potential in these aspects. Natal Mars-Pluto is a stockpile of explosive force, whether (for example) in rage, sexual ferocity, etc., and vulnerable to burnout. Sensitive to pressure or coercion; pot-stirrers, and defiantly resistant to outside control, this often marks a person who can’t seem to avoid breaking or upsetting something.

Transiting Mars opposite natal Mars and Pluto simply intensifies this and makes it more conflictual: It is combative, competitive, angry, conflictual, struggling, sexually brutish, neglectful of manners, and flailing to maintain control.

Natal Mars/Saturn angular struggle, hardship, and aggressive over-compensation in response to feeling loss or insufficiency. It brings out the self-sufficient, tough survivor, maneuvering for control, making everything harder than necessary, and hunkered down for enduring defensiveness. Natal Saturn/Pluto angular also speaks of loss, burden, and lone wolf isolation. Together, these give a harsh, dark, lonely, struggling way of relating to life.

Natal Venus-Saturn show loss in personal pleasure, often from focusing more on work, duty, and devotion. For people naturally less dutiful and less devotional than most, it's emotionally hardening and dwells on how little pleasure life is returning to them. Such people often are willing to pragmatically sacrifice (or even sell out) whatever they must for something more important to them.

Other, weaker details are, at best, supplemental and somewhat mutually cancelling. Transiting Pluto still squares natal Jupiter (0°42'). Saturn still squares natal Neptune (1°05').Both of these are threatening to him. Yet, Jupiter squares his natal Ascendant (0°32') and Venus squares his Venus (0°48'), which are some protective and perhaps mostly show a nice get-away to France.

On his return to Washington, he will overlay all of this with the new rising Jupiter version of his relocated SLR which will give him further advantage as long as the chart lasts.

The main repeated national U.S. headlines for the Liblunar week have been about these topics:

* The election and its aftermath, recounts, consequences, etc.
* The explosive California fires
* Thousand Oaks mass shooting
* Trump fired Jeff Sessions and expelled a top reporter from the White House

The Liblunar forecast was correct specifically that the midterm elections were ultimately all about the president - news analyses cited this over and over, and post-election polling and other data confirmed that President Trump, pro or con, was the primary reason people voted. The gaiety, excitement, buoyancy, and sense of play cited reflect much of the national tone in the aftermath of the elections.

The chart doesn't show much of the other events, though the angular Sun aspects Mars - that's in the right direction even if not the most typical aspect. I said it would be interesting to see if the local angularities reflect post-election attitude of different regions and it didn't: With a blue and rainbow wave in the elections, Saturn edging the West Coast does not show the primary West Coast reaction to the elections, for example. (Same with the other areas mentioned.) However, that Saturn does show the sudden, deadly devastation by Mother Nature in northern and southern California.
Jim Eshelman wrote: Sat Sep 08, 2018 3:54 pm Liblunar (Nov 5)1 Liblunar.jpg

Moon enters Capricorn tonight (just after midnight Eastern Time, mid-evening on the West Coast), so it's time to assess how we did this last month.

My view is that the charts were pretty good. The forecasts based on the charts were right in many cases, and other trends matching the charts (but not in the forecasts) also emerged. As usual, astrology comes out looking great and, I think, this time the astrologer didn't look too bad also.

Trump's change of venue for this SLR changed conclusions based on the Washington chart. It did not show the election aftermath. He got a very different (very different!) SLR in Paris.

The Capsolar and Libsolar forecasts pointed to the broad direction of the election - something we've been saying (and writing) since January. This Capsolar has been really good: Trends shown (and identified) in the Capsolar in January have continued to be primary trends, including this month's events where the press was itself a centerpiece of the story, shifting foreign relations, destruction from destabilizing climate, destabilizing stock markets, and more. We haven't yet seen the forecast revelations and disclosures during this last month.

The Arilunar's loud voice on violence and struggle was exactly on the mark.

So, overall, I think we did well and learned at least one new thing (that no, local lunar ingress lines do not tend to show levels of local happiness regarding something like an election).

But those are my thoughts. Yours?

Agreed! Not lunar ingress, but maybe solar ingresses. I think DC Solar Ingresses may show prevailing emotional/psychological effects with important elections with the party in power as Prez.

The stock market took some bad hits this month. Though the Caplunar was dormant for Washington, it had Saturn on MC (and, even closer, square Ascendant) for New York. In the end, it finished a little ahead (mostly a break-even), but only with several sharp drops along the way.

Well that was on the nose. He insulted all the world leaders, our allies, fallen soldiers, living soldiers, California, first responders in California, who'd I leave out?

He doesn't understand absentee ballots in Florida are counted if they were postmarked by midnight on election day, and they do not have to be received before the close of polls. He also doesn't understand he's saying people serving in the military in Iraq or Texas who had to mail in their ballots should not have their votes counted.

Is Trump just upset over the midterms, or is he sick? He's not acting his normal belligerant self. And not going to Arlington, being concerned about being out in the rain, not going to the big conference in Asia, not meeting with King Abdullah who he likes a lot, does he have a cold or the flu?

Well, first of all, he's not his usual spray-tan orange color, which makes him look pale.

Secondly, I don't have any problem imagining all the stress of what's now coming making him feel physically ill.
