I'm starting a post on Hurricane Michael which I will edit over the next week as appropriate. Over the last day it has accelerated from Category 2 to Category 4 and is already threatening the Gulf coast and Florida panhandle, with secondary effects up into the Carolinas. The Florida governor just ann0ounced that it's too late to leave, and everybody left just has to hunker down and stay as safe as possible. At the moment it is about 15 miles off of Panama City, FL.

At of Wednesday morning (right now), with the focus on Panama City, the new Liblunar has Mercury-Uranus square Asc for Panama City, FL and a barely foreground Mars-Jupiter square. The Caplunar has Moon exactly on IC (rain!) with Mars-Uranus plus Pluto hanging in the foreground fringes.

UPDATE 10/11:
Hurricane Michael made landfall as a 155 mph Category 4 storm (2 mph short of Cat 5) October 10, at 12:15 PM CDT (another source said "just before 1 PM"), in Mexico Beach, FL near Tyndall AFB. Mexico Beach is 29N57 85W25; Tyndall is 30N09 84W39. This is a non-trivial difference, and since most sources say "near Mexico Beach," I think we should go with that. In any case, Saturn was rising as it hit. LATER: Mexico Beach should be the spot. FEMA called it ground zero. The town has effectively ceased to exist. The few houses standing in aerial pictures aren't in their original locations: They were lifted off their foundations and moved across town (if there were still a town to move across).

The CANSOLAR was particularly on-target with Neptune 22' from WP.

The CAPLUNAR has Moon exactly on IC (a rain indicator) with a foreground Mars-Uranus square and a foreground Pluto.

The LIBUNAR has Uranus 06' from square Asc (op. Mercury) and a (barely) foreground partile Mars-Jupiter mundane square.

The quotidians seem just off, as if this were not the most concentrated location. I have yet to find a chart with suitable daily timing other than the Liblunar setting up soon before impact. This is highly unusual.

For a likely short-term effect, the CapQ MC squared ingress Pluto Wednesday (while Pluto still transits Capsolar IC). The new Liblunar was dormant (though, if read, suggested it would cost people money and create a new investment opportunity), so the Canlunar is still in full-steam mode.

These charts were all quite good until timing the day. Arguably, the trigger was the Liblunar less than a day before the event. Given how well these daily charts normally perform, I'd like to find a fuller explantion of what was going on with daily timing.

In what follows, charts labelled Q are the Q2 as usual, and the PSSIs are all mean rate (but estimated - my quickie check - probably quite close, but know that they weren't rigorously calculated).

Statistics previously have shown that the performance of all three non-Capsolar quotidians / transits perform distinctly better when the Capsolar dailies have nothing to say. Usually we can rely on the Cansolar for this but, it being imperfect, I want to look at the other two as well, in addition to the PSSIs.

However, if the apparent solar rate moves this PSSI forward or backward 3°, angles hit Mars or Saturn.

CONCLUSION
Statistics show that the CapQ and Capsolar transits normally handle the daily timing splendidly and, when they don't, the Cansolar equivalents are almost always sufficient to fill the gap.

Technically, that's true here, also, Neptune's transit to Cansolar WP being sufficient to tip the scales to a +1 even in the face of a questionable Venus quotidian crossing.

But, more fully, statistics show that when the CapQ is dormant, all three non-Capsolar daily sets perform much better than usual, and have adequate scores. That also came out this time, since the AriQ + Arisolar transits were quite remarkable. In a symbolically apt way, but with timing more vague, the Libsolar came through as well. Taken together, the Cansolar, Arisolar, and Libsolar timings were quite good, as statistics tell us to suspect.

This doesn't solve the practical problem of how to track such vulnerable times and places - we still need better calculation tools for that - but it does explain the technical considerations of the event.

This leaves the question of the PSSI. Of four possibilities, the Cansolar PSSI (because it's current quarter???) was exactly on, and the Arisolar PSSI was OK. The Cansolar PSSI is the kind of chart we outright expect and hadn't seen. The question, though, is whether this adds anything in the face of the performance of the more conventional tools.

New York Times did a wonderful, detailed profile - it reads like a novel - of the people who died in this crash and how the whole thing happened. I recommend the time to read it (it's kinda long) - there were a couple of solar returns on the line with this. Someone could do astrology a great good dead by contacting the families etc. to get these 20 people's birth data.

October 17, 2018, hour unknown, Kerch, Crimea

18 are dead and about 50 others injured at Kerch Polytechnic College in Crimea. Reports remain confused. The incident was first reported as a gas explosion, then as an explosive device, and there remain reports consistent with an explosion; but a gunman was also shooting, and currently seems responsible for 17 student deaths and then for killing himself.

Information has been escaping the area in a piecemeal and contradictory way.

The CAPSOLAR has a close Jupiter-Pluto mundane square (plus Sun aspecting each) within 2 degrees of angles. These are more the markers of a terrorist attack or assault on the Russian government that is currently controlling Crimea, a historic part of Ukraine.

The CANSOLAR has Pluto square MC.

The new CAPLUNAR is a chart to set up for yourself and examine closely. I haven't broken it down finely but notice it has Sun on IC, Mercury-Venus square Ascendant and tied into Mars, Moon-Sun square on angles, Mars exactly setting mundane square Sun, and some Uranus. A full breakout would disclose the orb priorities.

The CapQ needs closer work when I'm at a full computer. At a glance, Venus seems stronger than Jupiter and Mars near EP need orbs checked. However, Mars was exactly transiting Capsolar EP for the event. Pluto is on CanQ MC.

The basics: At least 60 people died, and over 100 more were injured, when a commuter train ran through a crowd of hundreds of people standing on the tracks watching the burning of an effigy of the demon Ravana during a Dussehra festival celebration. Dismembered body parts littered the tracks. The noise of celebration, including fireworks, evidently drowned out the sound of the approaching train.

Jamal Khashoggi's murder has dominated headlines this month. I finally got accurate data on this. He was killed October 2, 2018, approximately 1:30 PM in Istanbul. The Saudi consulate in Istanbul is at 41N05'09'', 29E00'43''.

Does this show as the date and place of an international crime?

Istanbul's CAPSOLAR has Pluto rising (0°55'), and it has been a tumultuous year for them.

The CAPLUNAR is quite primed for bloody violence! Mars (which squares Uranus within 0°12') looks to be exactly rising but, in fact, is 4°21' below Asc; but Uranus voids dormancy by squaring Asc 0°14'.

The ARILUNAR is less clear but along the right general lines: Sun is in the immediate foreground, with Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Pluto more widely angular. The Sun-Pluto mundane square (1°50') is noteworthy.

CAPQ highlights the Sun-Uranus square. Transiting Pluto is conjunct Capsolar Asc and (ah, here's the timing!) transiting Mars is 0°09' from Capsolar EP.

Climaxing over a month of angular Mars-Uranus aspects, a bomb was found in mail going to George Soros three days ago then, in the last 24 hours, other bombs being mailed to Bill & Hillary Clinton and to Barack Obama.

UPDATE (a few minutes later). Now CNN headquarters in NYC (Time-Warner Center) is being evacuated due to the same kind of device. Sounds like war! Please see the prior Caplunar and Canlunar, then last night's Arilunar in the recent forecast posts.

Although there were reports of a device addressed to the White House, but that's not accurate.
All the mail that goes to the White House, members of Congress, and anyone protected by the Secret Service goes through the same facility, which is where the packages to the Clintons and Obamas were found.

Someone was taken into custody in Florida before 11:10 AM ET in the package bombs case according to "the Justice Department" (not sure if that's the DC or Florida administration. Trump did not know about it during his 11 AM press conference. It appears a package addressed to Cory Booker was found in the mail processing facility in Opalocka before 4 AM, and traced back to a 56 year old man who lives in a van in a parking lot in Plantation, Fla.

His name is Cesar Sayoc, born 3/17/62, Brooklyn, NY (no other details known yet). Without a time I can only detect Pluto sesqui-square his Mercury, Jupiter soon to square his Jupiter (probably a celebrity play-off), a lot of general markers of attention-seeking. But he' a Pisces-Cancer with closest aspect an exact Jupiter-Uranus opposition, so I suspect we'll hear that he was doing this from some motive like freedom (in his own head). This story will have play between now and the election, especially until his voter registration is disclosed...

LATER: An astrologer I know has tentatively proposed a 3:16 AM birth time based on transits, solar arcs, and progressions. What interests me is that I was very very tentatively thinking the birth was most likely in the very early hours of the day, due to lunar progressions. My first impression is that it's about an hour earlier, say 2:16 AM.

He has been convicted on theft, stolen property and traffic charges and in 2002 on a threat to "throw, place, project or discharge any destructive device."
Miami Herald says he was born in NY.

According to the Guardian, flight JT610 of Indonesia's low-cost airline, Lion Air, crashed into the sea, 13 minutes after its take-off from Jakarta at 6.20AM. It's a new Boeing 737 MAX 8 that is supposed to land in Pangkal Pinang, Indonesia. The aircraft had only been used for two months, yet its emergency beacon did not emit a distress signal, despite being certified as working until August 2019.

189 people were on board, including passengers and crew. 20 of them were Indonesian officials. No news or indications of casualties and the cause of the crash so far. Waters at the crash site are 30-35 metres deep, and flight data showed it made a sudden, sharp dive into the sea.

The gunman then walked outside, killed a woman, came under fire from an armed citizen, told another armed citizen "whites don't kill whites" (since when?) got in his car and was stopped and taken into custody before he got down the block. He was later seen on survalience tape trying to get into a nearby black church 10 to 15 minutes before.

An adenovirus sickened at least a dozen children and has killed another 9 in a nursing facility in New Jersey. These are children who are "medically fragile" and need more care than can be provided at home. The virus has been confirmed in the facility since September 26. The health department was notified of respiratory illness at the center on October 9. The facility sent parents of children at the facility letters about the infection on October 19, according to the health department. It's not clear exactly when some of the deaths occurred.

Sigh. Another day, another Mars crossing. The Caplunar had Neptune rising within about a degree. The Arilunar has a complex pattern of Mars setting and Sun-Venus-Uranus along meridian. Then Mars crossed the local Cansolar IC over the last few days.

Rats don't have a long life-expectancy in prison.

The location in West Virginia is part of the Pluto IC (less than half a degree) line that moves down the east coast. It's also on the Mars setting line for the Arilunar, Mars being 0°49' away.

Then the CapQ was not quite right. It had a long-term transiting Sun on IC plus Mars too far from Descendant to count (over 3° away). We do have Pluto transiting Capsolar IC. The showpiece is the CanQ, with Asc sq. s Neptune (1°19'0 and EP conj. t Saturn (1°45').
