A magnitude 7.5 quake struck near the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia, triggering a tsunami as well. (A 6.1m quake 3 hours earlier was a true foreshock.) 2,100 people are confirmed dead, 10,679 injured, over 5,000 missing, and over 70,000 evacuated. Electricity and communications lines are down. Roads are damaged impeding access.
The shallow quake was felt over a large area, with apparently severe damage to Palu, the provincial capital, about 50 miles away. Some tsunami waves at Palu were about 20 feet high, reaching the second floor of some buildings: They hit at 5:27 local time, about 25 minutes after the quake. Palu received the most attention as the worst hit place, the city more or less levelled (Its charts are barely distinguishable from the ones given below, calculated for the epicenter.)
The 6.1 foreshock was at the same location: September 28 at 7:00:01 UT, 0S24, 119E46.
The charts are pretty bad - up until the week. Actually, the solar ingresses aren't as bad as they seem since two dormant returns mark the area primarily with the universal Moon-Saturn aspects; but the final operative, flowing-through solar ingress, the Libsolar, is quite terrible symbolism, and the Caplunar is bad. The Arilunar redeems it all a bit and the CapQ is not bad. (The Octi-Solar that may be a valid chart is right on!) But, overall, for the epicenter this is a poor showing.
