Shooting incident at 12:30 PM Eastern in Terminal 3, Los Angeles International Airport, past security checkpoints according to CBS. Multiple people "down."
Apparently TSA employees targetted, suspect may be in custody.

Last I heard, two people were hurt - which probably means the shooter and a TSA agent. The original report that LAX was being "evacuated," if correct, is a really big deal, but it sounds like it's mostly a Neptune event: Chaos and craziness and not much else.
I'll take a look and see...

For Inglewood, CA, the current
Caplunar is dormant, but it's somewhat wide angularities and thematically accurate. Mercury is 3°+ from the IC (and conjoined by Saturn). Mars is 6°14' below the Ascendant. Good for delayed flights and guns.
The current
Canlunar is the "chart of the week." Jupiter rising (0°13'), Uranus near the MC squaring Moon-Jupiter mundanely (and, of course, Pluto ecliptically). Either doesn't describe the event, or shows "luckily nobody really hurt, a bit of excitement." (I vote for the former.)
Transiting Mars is 1°26' from the
CapQ Descendant. (This is slow, it's been hovering there for a while.) CapQ Moon is 1°12' fro the CapQ EP.
Transiting Saturn is 0°46' from conjunct
progressed Cansolar Moon (which affects the whole world).
Not much happening, really...

Mayor and Chief of Police are saying it happened at 9:20 AM (Pacific), one TSA agent killed, at least one more injured, 6 of 7 injured people transported to hospitals.
Shooter apparently not killed, but in custody.

The shooter, Paul Anthony Ciancia, 23, resident of LA, is in critical condition, and is not a TSA agent. Can't yet find a birth date, but it appears he was born in February, in either LA or possibly NJ.

Yes, the latest reports say that he IS a TSA agent according to airport and local police, and is NOT a TSA agent according to the FBI. Also, he IS dead or is now in critical condition.
If I decided to trust ALL the reports, and take them as true when they came in, I would have to conclude that he was wounded when taken into custody, died from being taken into custody, stayed dead and was fine except that now the dead guy is in critical condition.
More to follow, I'm sure

LA Times seems to be finally getting their story straight on this. You can tell that the cops are getting ready to file charges, since the individual has gone from being "the shooter" to "the suspect who allegedly opened fire."
A federal law enforcement official confirmed that police have identified the suspect who allegedly opened fire at Los Angeles International Airport this morning as Paul Ciancia.
The official could not confirm Ciancia's age. The official said police were looking at information that Ciancia "wasn't a fan of the TSA."
Authorities believe that Ciancia arrived at a TSA screening area in Terminal 3 at 9:20 a.m., pulled a rifle out of his bag and started shooting. He made his way past the security checkpoint, into the terminal and continued shooting.
He was eventually shot and apprehended by authorities in the terminal near a Burger King. He was in critical condition.
One TSA agent was killed in the shooting and three or four other agents were injured

Now that it's all over and we have some facts, I think this was closer to an individual incident rather than a mundane incident.
As a mundane event, the Caplunar caught the tone right, but planets were a bit too far from the angles to be riveting. We did pull an angular Mars on the Quotidian, but it's been in orb for a while. Besides, as a mundane event, the shooting was a pretty insignificant thing - more than that happens on the streets routinely in LA in any given week.
The real
mundane effect was shutting down the airport for half a day! I want to see that Mercury-Saturn more pronounced.
However, I'm sure things showed for the individual's horoscope. It would be really interesting to see that for comparison.
Yesterday was the exact day of Uranus square Pluto. It probably hit something important, within a few minutes, of the natal. I don't really see the transportation thing loudly in the mundane charts.
