Controlling Behavior

Thinking of what makes one controlling and in what ways, I think of Mars and Saturn. I can see Mercury also making the list as a manipulating force.
What kinds of contolling behavior exists-physical, mental, emotional to others and/or self.
Saturn seems like the controlling of self or self control/containment. Example-wisdom, establishing boundaries. Limiting themselves and others from extending bounds. Grudges? Possessive
Mars seems like physical control of space, crossing boundaries, physical and verbal. Isolating you from family and friends (mercury too?) Threats . Grudges? Demands. Spying. Jealously. Invasion of privacy. Possessive.
Mercury seems more of the manipulation with ultimatums, criticism, verbal word games? Use of strategy? Use of logic. Threats? Grudges? Demands. Guilt trips. Spying. Invading privacy
Pluto?
Which signs especially? I see Aries, Gemini being top. Scorpio and Capricorn/ Libra next but first on self control.. But, I could see each sign having some controlling behavior.

Virgo can be controlling with the perfectionism and attention to detail.

I can see that.

I think Pluto is partly on this list--Pluto's children can some times be quite controlling as a pre-emptive strike against feeling controlled by others.

It would seem to me that since each and every planet and sign has specific natures delineations aspects and atributes, that each in its own way is restricted/controlled.
In my belief system though all aspects of restriction and control are counter to our natural state of divine universal love and as a human being it serves us well for "the long game" to unbind ourselves from all forms of control and restriction.
In my expierence that can only be done through the heart, through love:love of self and love of what we percieve as "non-self"
In my own chart I have oodles of things that say I control this way, and manipulate that way, and restrict and self sacrifice and all those terms used to denote a very dominating force of control.
But it is through my heart, my venus, my love, my devotion and desire for harmony:in myself and in the world around me that determines if my actions are truelly controlling or actually liberating.
I am no slave and I serve no one if my heart isnt in it. I have no motive but to be free from the controlling/restriction of this plane and to push past all limitations the the mundane world lays as traps for the ego.
When you say that such and such is an uber controlling sign (ie scorpio) and I have that in my chart, it is like a pang in my heart, a cold steel chain on my neck saying, this is how it is. It hurts to be controlled/ruled/limited/restricted by tendencies and mean/median/more statistics of the past.
When I think of my venus saturn aspect. Or my pluto. Or my scorpio. Or my gemini rising I see them as beautiful powerful components of me, a part of me that when looked at through the eyes of god a smile comes to the universe and sees me, not as a cold, alone, controlling, stuck up, task driver but as a person who is free and unchained and uncontrollably wild like nature intended.

Saturn tends to control - structure, formulate, define, limit self and environment.
Mars tends to dominate or prove self in battle - not necessarily control in relation to this.
Mercury tends to gather and disseminate data; I don't clearly see how you made the conclusion about Mercury people being controlling,

I'm not sure that mercury people are by nature more controlling. Just that if we choose to, we can be really good at it, because of the attention to detail.

Interesting topic,
Going by Sun sign only, I have found Taurus and Cancers to be the most controlling. Now, I am just wondering if that is because of my chart?

I would have to say that having a foreground sun in *any* sign is indicative of a potential highly controlling aspect.

I think Sun in aspect to Moon, especially in opposition, predicates controlling behavior. This is something we can use sources online to study.
I'm pretty sure it's not (just) which constellation the natal Sun is in.

My sun squares my moon so I would totally agree.

Control comes in many forms. I brought the topic up as Relationship control. Relationship with self and others is basically happening all of the time and control for whatever reason. Controlling people seek power over others by reducing their partners’ confidence and stature.
Saturn seems the most obvious in self control.
Withholding information-refusing to communicate, passive aggressive. Changing the subject
Intimidating others, bulling
Manipulation
Demeaning-name calling, belittling
Making demands. ultimatums, demanding ,pressuring
Blackmail
Lying, cheating
Violating space and boundaries
Blaming you/not taking responsibility
Misleading
Or say- stirring up trouble, drama, being jealous, envious, needy talking to people behind your back to try and make you look bad
I brought this up because I find a few people I know with these qualities more or less. I can't tell if they are doing it on purpose or how aware they are of it because they seem to always deny it, putting it on me, or justifying it somehow with reason or excuse.

Saturn isn't usually aggressive. Mars is. And a lot of that sounds like Mars with Neptune. Maybe Saturn and Mars, but there's a lot of Neptune in there.

a teacher in a class room
A parent and a child
A trainer and lion
A quarterback and the offensive line
A general and his army
All are controlling
And if they used the methods you listed
They would not be in control for very long
The behavior you listed is not about control, its an illusion of control.
