Uranus is the purest expression of looking for the new, responding well to it, etc. (In contrast, Neptune is misoneistic, i.e., avoidant of the new.)
Moon is
responsive to all impressions. This doesn't necessarily mean the lunar person
wants them, but is nonetheless responsive to them, takes them in, etc. (Venus has a much milder version of this.)
Mercury is curious: This sometimes leads to the same thing.
Most other planets are at least
not resistant, but also not particularly attuned to the idea. For example, Mars is willing to dare anything, Pluto doesn't limit itself by other people's rules , etc. But this is quite a different thing.
In general, I suppose only Saturn and Neptune are truly resistant to it, while Jupiter often gets caught up in "looking good," meaning that the social circle will mostly determine which kind of behavior wins esteem.

Thanks Jim. You explain things well.
I ask because I always score high on openness to experience scales. Of course its all relative. I feel I am curious to hear other people's story as to learn about people. But, more so in my leisure. If I sense an outside force or another person trying to take that away from me, it makes me volatile, flustered.

Well put V. A good book stimulating one's interest in life is one of the the greatest fulfillment's one can discover/enjoy. As a Librarian you must enjoy your work seeing others enjoying good books relative to their interests in life.

Auto bios are cool. I was thinking meeting people in the flesh. Raw, unedited in person meeting new people. I enjoy that.

Yeah, focus and being assertive to the moment helps the experience to be more pure, authentic. And the practical trade off or priority has a big influence on what one's attention in on. Double hub like you I assume has deeper focus than rim or spoke, in general. I know my double hub friends are much more focused on their personal self in the world. More concentrated, less pulled or swayed.
My double Scorpio friend loves experience. He isn't as extroverted as me and isn't as socially curious in the 'other' individual, but more so solely invested on his experience. Not in a selfish, egotisitcal way.

This fact actually makes me very much *not* open to expierence s because I know where I came from and where I am going and have no desire to entertain thing/expierences that will distract me or unfocus my attention from my personal goals and needs.
My friends new wife born March 9th is very particular in her selection of mate and she is a workaholic.

Most people are selective and hard working. Life kinda makes us that way.

One of the things that this topic made me think of was the fact that little children are very open to new expierences for the most part. They are usually not afraid to try new foods or games or anything. They easily obsorb new information Ie: foreigh language, music, organization, ect. They are not yet conditioned for preferences, biasises or restrictions.
This is all accurately discussed in Taking the Kid Gloves of course in the section on Uranus stage of development,
It is advocated in many spiritual traditions that we should be as children, that we should embrace the child within, and that childlike qualities are close to god.
It is when we pass from that early Uranian phase into the Saturn phase that rules, preferences and ridigity apears and this is very familiar to parents of two year olds who now as of today does not like peas anymore.

What you're saying about yourself seemingly contradicts the Uranian openness to experience. You say you are selective . So what makes Uranus selective yet open at the same time? So it must be psychological freedom?Perceived freedom? If you have a difficult time choosing between alternatives or rather just know what you like, is there a difference?
Jim- how do you explain Uranus as looking for the new if they are committed to the used and tried?

I do think we all have a tendency to be more or less selective.
What do you mean by most people are selective? Selective by definition is tending to choose carefully, but on which choice? Car brands, cereal, sexual partner, time? Can you elaborate? For example, I prefer to save money on groceries rather than spend more for higher quality. What makes one select this over that?

I eat healthy but I shop at ALDI and not the local town supermarket. I don’t go to the health food store because it costs too much. Some things like fresh veggies I buy organic. Long game? Please, your highness inform me why you think I don’t understand?

I see your point but its off topic. I understand the highest quality materials yield a solid structure. But, you are playing the odds. Another man's trash is someone's treasure.
Does quality itself doesn't determine society, culture, economics and personal worth or value based on choices? Meaning, did 3rd world countries choose to be third world countries?
I am also a health nut regardless of quality. Fact

Someone edited her posts to replace most of what she wrote with emojis making nonsense of what anyone else wrote, so I'm not going to bother to split and move this. If you still want to discuss anything that was brought up, please do start a thread over in the Club. Thanks for trying anyway, James.
