Began July 30, 2012, 2:35 AM IST; use New Delhi since the range was so vast.
Also July 31, 2012, 1:02 PM IST
World's worst power blackout ever (but technically two adjacent events): Most of northern and eastern India were affected on July 30-31, 2012. The July 30 blackout affected 300 million people; that on 7/31 affected 620 million (half of India's population, about 9% of total world population). Power was restored by August 21.
New Delhi is suitable to use as the capital, but also as a center of conditions. Through the 2012 summer, extreme heat and a late monsoon season caused power consumption to reach unprecedented levels. Though the second day was the worst, I suspect the authorities were already in an emergency state from the time of the first crash.
Very little happens in the charts until we get to the Week. The Liblunar is perfect! The basic chart elements are simply the pure suffering. (Then we get a few other details like confusion, overheating, etc.)
