During New Year celebrations. 66 people died, another 222 were injured of the roughly 1,000 people present. (The band playing was named Burn, and the party was portentously named Santika's Last Night.) No final decision has been made about the cause; the contenders are outdoor fireworks igniting the roof or an electrical explosion.

The fire was seen inside the club at 12:10 AM, and there had been fireworks at midnight, so midnight seems the most likely time the fire started. The fire started just after a Mars-Pluto conjunction crossed IC.
