Relocation considerations

Hi all,
I'm planning ahead for when I eventually relocate (next few years probably). I want to move to the west coast where my natal Venus is foreground. (It's background here.) That's the primary goal.
In Los Angeles, Venus is foreground by itself, 1*55' above Descendant, and I get a Mercury conjunction with the Westpoint 0*36' wide in RA. (I also get a mundane Moon-Pluto semisquare 0*35' wide, and a Mercury-Pluto semisquare 0*24' wide.)
In the San Francisco area, which I really like and which would potentially be really good for me as I'm now in the software industry, I still have Venus 3*31' above Descendant, but I also gain Mercury square MC 0*16' and Saturn on Westpoint 1*44'.
The Moon-Pluto mundane semisquare 0*48' is wide here.
If I won 10 million dollars and could just move somewhere right this moment, I would move to the San Francisco area.
But I'm kind of concerned about that Saturn being there.
I'm curious what you all think about relocation targets for me, between LA and SF (or anywhere else you think looks interesting; I've looked at know that Venus line arcs through 3 US states a bit east of the CA locales I mentioned).
Should I be leery of moving to a place with Saturn in the mix?

IMO, No, particularity when you are factoring in the practically of a good area for a Career. Besides, that tight angular Venus will over rule the wider Saturn, imo. Some Saturn is OK for setting Career/Work foundations, imo. It all depends on your priorities for the relocation.

I see the attraction of SF - that Mercury line is really intriguing, especially for the way your mind works. I do wonder if it's a good idea, though, given how your Saturn is natally aspected.
To confirm your calculations, here's what I get for the two locations you mentioned:
LOS ANGELES
Venus on Dsc 1°55'
Mercury on WP 0°36'
-- Moon-Mercury sq. 1°00'
in mundo
SAN FRANCISCO
Mercury sq. MC 0°17'
Saturn on WP 1°45'
Venus on Dsc 3°32'
Moon on IC 9°10'
Either has pros and cons, though if I had Neptune closely conjunct natal Saturn I wouldn't move to a place that put either of them on an angle. Mercury is nearly as strong in LA as in SF - arguably stronger because there is also a partile Moon-Mercury mundane square.
You stated that your goal is to bring out your Venus. You get some of that in SF, but after the 3° line there is a bit of drop-off (it move into a different category). Of course, one can always settle one place and move another
Though this may be too soon, your next SSR has a Moon-Uranus opposition and could be a good time for a move. Your Sun is pretty close to MC in SF - not a bad personal and career distinction placement. In LA, though, Sun moves to the same distance on the other side of MC and Jupiter atop natal Uranus is at Midheaven, too.
The following year (when your SSR has a Moon-Neptune conjunction instead of a Moon-Uranus opposition), Mercury and (somewhat) Sun are on WP in LA with natal Mercury and Saturn straddling Dsc. For SF, the Ascendant is similar except Descendant is closest to your Saturn while Sun is closer than Mercury to WP.

Admittedly, Venus goes go closer to Portland than any other sizeable city (0°23') - which is remarkably good. It does. however (like Seattle due north) have "the San Francisco problem" - all on the same longitude - of a maligned Saturn a degree and a half from Westpoint.

Thank you all for your thoughts. It seems as I've feared (although the cost of housing in SF should've been enough to scare me
)

Well, that could be the Saturn! <g>

Mike, I would try to avoid that Saturn on WP and go for LA area to bring out Venus.
In Palm Springs Venus is 00,36 from the rel. DSC.
But 01,55 from DSC in LA is also very good if you prefer the big city life.

I'd actually like to get away from cities eventually.
I'm at a stage in my new career (read as: less than 2 months into it right now LOL) that I think I need to be near a lot of opportunities until I can eventually settle down someplace else and stay there for a while.
Thanks for the Palm Springs tip
I plan to visit the Pacific Northwest as much as I can, so there's time for that
