Venus+Mercury vs Mars probability

Looking at some of Jim's work I noticed that Mars is independent from the Sun sign. So in theory out of 12 Sun signs they all have a different Mars sign.
Compare this to Mercury and Venus. Mercury, if you have four natives of the same sun its likely that 2 will share the same Mercury sign. And with venus within the same sun sign 2 out of six individuals would share a Venus sign.
However if you look at Mercury and Venus together you get 15 different options. Only 3 out of the 15 natives will have Venus and Mercury share the same sign.
Mars is far more dynamic that Venus and Mercury, and I agree that Mars sign will definitely supersede the energy of Mercury and Venus signs. However my theory is that when Mercury and Venus share the same sign the sign will be more expressive then when they are in different signs, even more so than was originally thought of course (perhaps about or a little less than half of a Mars's signs energy?).
Just a thought. Please correct my math if it Is incorrect.
